[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; border: 0px; width: 400px;text-align: justify; font-family:georgia; size: 7pt; color: #2ee668;]I know this is going to sound selfish and probably really "my character is the bomb" but I need to know if this is allowed because I have RPed it out and now I'm second guessing myself.

Anyways, Jester (some people might know him from the Tribe of Many Storms), was possessed by the tribe's patron god Cusun. His body was taken over a total of five times during his training sessions with the god (he was given sound/molecule manipulation and pelt eye color changes), and without realizing it, Jester was allowing the god's portion of soul to mold with Jester's until they were one. The tiger, not realizing this was happening, forced the god out of his body which in turn forced his soul out. So now he's a soulless meanie head who was taught how to use powers by the god.

Now, he was exiled from the tribe for basically threatening to kill the leader (huge plot in the works there). I was wondering if it was okay to have his fur darken, almost black, around his shoulders and lergs, and the orange become more vibrant. I know it's such a thing as a melenistic tiger, never entirely black, but having dark patches in certain areas. He also would have darker bronze eyes, almost grey, considering that is also a trait of melenistic creatures (basically the opposite of albinism)

I also would like his sound and molecule manipulation to be incredibly advanced, as his soul isn't there to tell his body when to stop pushing itself. So, like, he could be able to pull the humidity from the air to create patches of ice (nothing big as there isn't normally that much water in the air unless your in high humidity levels). And he would obviously have to be able to create quite loud sound waves also connecting to his soulless nature and not being able to tell when his body is at it's limit.

The side affects would be incredibly severe with gushy bloody noses, blood clots, headaches and just all around bad feelings. The minute he would get his soul back, he would be dead.

the ice isn't allowed; molecular manipulation cannot change the temperature of things, only the form of which it's in. or, rather, you could make water a solid, but it wouldn't be cold, like ice (side-effects would still be extremely severe).

another thing is that even if his soul wasn't there, his body would still die if you overworked it; a soul can't sustain a physical form's life, so the absence of a soul wouldn't affect the health of the body, just the mental state (basically like an NPC in a game - they're 'alive,' though they don't normally have a personality. basically an empty husk).

the fur should be fine, as long as it happens in real life - if it doesn't, that can be considered unrealistic.

[fancypost bgcolor=transparent; border: 0px; width: 400px;text-align: justify; font-family:georgia; size: 7pt; color: #2ee668;]Well then that's saying walking on water isn't aloud because that would be changing the temperature of the water to allow a solid structure because otherwise you'd just be completely floating...? Right? Or it would be creating a higher tension on the surface, but if it's creating a higher surface tension then he would be able to slow down the movement of molecules, hence freezing the liquid. And if there's already molecules of water in the air he would be able to act on those.

I thought they were capable of moving between states of low boiling point materials?

This is all confusing to me now since the physics behind it is all wonky.

they can change surface tension, yes, but not temperature; it wouldn't freeze, just be... jello-y? murkrow wrote a really great guide on it, let me get the link to it - but yes, you can walk on water, and you can clot blood and things, but you can't change temperature or take moisture out of the air.

    Quote

The ability to control and manipulate molecules, typically this is not very advanced. It's more of basic things like, moving molecules faster to turn water to a gas, or slowing them down to turn water to ice. The user must be touching something for it to work. Molecular manipulation does not happen from far away, you cannot be hovering over a cat and then decide to use your power to turn the water around them into ice. However If you are standing on the water, you can. The area around what a cat is manipulate changes.

It says there that they must be touching it to work, but also not to do the 'hover over a creature and drop ice'. but if he's touching the ground, there is moisture there as is to manipulate... so he would be able to slow down the molecules to change the state?

I don't know this is too weird.

don't worry i'm confused now too.

edit;; who wrote the quote? that's different than what I was taught about the power.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width:430px]just a quick thing, to actually do something with the moisture in the air would kill someone at such a large scale, it would most likely only be right around the character themselves and no further, which is where the very light force field or shield comes through. any further out from the body and you would fall dead or else unconscious, considering the mass of the creature though it most likely won't be possible at all no matter the size of an animal

as for the soundwaves these are the same kind of thing, they can only go to a very certain frequency since the character itself tends to make the noise to go along with it and then alter the soundwaves to make it a higher or lower frequency. in this it would completely tear up the vocal cords and destroy the eardrums at a certain frequency, sometimes even causing death once more. really it is not possible since it is meant as a minor power, and, as firework said, a body without a spirit is simply a husk and there for can not sustain this amount of damage no matter what, it would simply die and the spirit can try to do this attack but mortal characters can chose to ignore it completely, making it useless. really, it can do nothing or just kill the character, that is all i see happening in this

sorry to jump in like that, just thought i would share this little bit of information

And thanks for the input. I just see so many unrealistic things in the game and the idea of actually putting limits behind powers when there is so many other things that are totally unrealistic is just baffling to me. [/fancypost]

  • I don't see how it wouldn't change the temperature? You can't make ice without cooling water down to it's freezing point, and you can't make ice into water unless you heat it up past it's freezing point. And I'm pretty sure that's one of Nuka's quotes and he's like the power god so yeah xD
