  • "OK!"Lily mewed.

Wisteria sighed inwardly. She actually did know about the warrior code, every bit of it,but she bit her tongue, and listened to Endlessnightmare,Frost and Lichen.

  • Frost rose and followed lichen to the island walking next to Wisteria. Frost looked around taking in his surroundings"so one of the rules is that the leaders word is law if you go against it you will be exiled."he said slowly.

  • Arriving at the island, Lichen listened to frosts words, and nodded, quietly saying "Interesting". He was silent for a moment, before turning to the gathered cats and begining to speak. "Alright, so I've been thinking about what we need to do. Our objectives, our goals, are twofold: find a camp, a safe place to eat and sleep and live, even if it's temporary, and to deal with any dangers- mainly, to get rid of the predators. So, we either need to drive them off- harder, and it would leave them in the territory off the island, but less fighting- or kill them- more danger of cats getting hurt, but it will deal with the problem finally. So, despite the inherent risk, I think we need to kill them". He was quiet for a moment, before continuing: "Now. Because we can't kill a large number- an unknown number- of predators all out once, we'll need to set up a camp. So for now, we'll explore the island- all together, in case we get attacked- and find somewhere to return every night. Any questions?" He scanned the small crowd slowly, hoping for anyone to say something.

  • Frost stood up straighter"I think we should split into groups so we can cover more ground."he said.

  • "And what if we get attacked?" Lichen asked quietly, cocking his head. "I understand we may want to get more exploring done, but I won't risk your lives, not this early". He didn't want any deaths on his paws. They were just a bunch of cats who had chosen to follow him, for no reason. He had given them nothing in return for their loyalty yet, and he didn't want them to die because they trusted him.

  • Wisteria mewed,"I agree about splitting into groups, but Lichen has a point. We want to cover more ground, but we also want to stay safe. You are the leader,Lichen."She faced the tom, determination in her eyes."Only you can do what is right."Wisteria picked up Lily by the scruff.

  • (we are at theisland and talking about wheter we should split up to look for the place the camp should be.)
frost stood"I agree with lichen and wisteria it's safer going as one."he said.

  • "So...so Starclan's a clan concept then?" Lichen asked, surprised, before getting a bit excited. "So you know about the clans!?" He purred excitedly, like a kit. This was great! Maybe she would teach them about the clan rules. Lichen could probably come up with most of the stuff himself- protect each other, don't kill, things like that. And of course, there would probably be odd rules, that they didn't need. Still, there might be things he wouldn't think of. Either way, it was important, he thought, to emulate the clans, without being exactly like them. Looking at Deampaw, he said "Yeah, she'll be our medicine cat. I mean, she seems to know a thing or two. And what she doesn't know, she can learn. But from who, I don't know..." he murmured, half to himself. "Why?" he asked Fawnstep, curious.

Fawnstep dipped her head. "I used to be a Clan cat, yes." She followed Lichen again, and meowed, "She is very young…"

  • Lichen bowed his head to Frost, and meowed "Thank you. I just don't want any bloodshed...not so soon". Raising his voice, he called out "Alright everyone! We're going to find a camp, so that we can begin exploring the island in ernest!" Glancing back at Frost, he added "Once that's done, and we have a place to fall back to if need be, then we can start breaking up into smaller groups. So let's move out!" He turned around, and began padding down the beach. They'd circle the island, to get a feel for it, and to see if there were any safe areas on the edges of the forest, farthest from the danger. Turning to Fawnstep as they moved, he said "Yes, I suppose she is young...but who else do we have? No one else has any knowledge of herbs, as far as I know".

  • "Hmm..." Lichen purred slowly, considering. "Perhaps you could teach her what she doesn't know, then...before you leave". He still didn't know if Fawnstep planned on joining, and he didn't want to offend her by assuming such.

  • "Oh, I'm staying! I ache to be in a Clan again..." Fawnstep chirruped brightly. "Perhaps... she could be my apprentice...?" The fawn-colored she-cat didn't want to seem too forward.

  • (("Chirruped"! Awesome word *adds to vocabulary* ^^))

"You'll stay? Great!" Lichen purred happily, like a little kit. "And sure, you'll be her mentor- unless another cat comes along with more medicine skill- hope that doesn't happen" he said quietly. "It would be a waste to squander your abilities..."

  • {It is an awesome word ;3}

"Thank you," Fawnstep purred, dipping her head. Thank StarClan, she had been a warrior so she knew how to fight, too.

  • "Right, so, tell Dreampaw when you get the chance, okay?" Lichen asked her. Looking up at the forest that covered the whole interior of the island, he asked "So, do you notice any useful plants here on the island? It would be great if we could find things here on the island, so we don't need to go off the island every time a cat's sick".

  • "Of course." Fawnstep dipped her head in compliance with Lichen. At his question, she started searching around the her immediate position. "There seems to be... many cobwebs, good for stopping the bleeding... Oh! There's some marigold! That's good for infections. And stay away from these!" Fawnstep pointed a paw at a large bush of red berries. "Those are deathberries. As the name suggests, even one could kill a full-grown warrior." Her pale green eyes were deadly serious.

  • "Interesting..." Lichen meowed, gears turning in his mind at her mention of the death berries. A pottential weapon, perhaps? Invite an enemy cat into their camp, offer him some prey, that's had a death berry or two slipped into it...and the problem would be solved. Shaking his head, he said "W-well anyway, it's good to know there are some herbs here on the island". Padding around a large boulder- if Lichen remembered right, that was near the sharp turn which formed the bottom point of the island- Lichen noticed something he hadn't the first time: on the other side of the boulder, it, fused into a large rock ridge, rising high up and surounding a small clearing, with many holes and small caves in the cracked surface. Turning around, he called to the other cats- his clan mates, he had to get used to calling them- "Alright, everyone, this is where we'll stay, until we find a more permanant camp. There seem to be caves we can sleep in, and the one entrance, so we can defend it easily. We'll start exploring the island in twos and threes shortly".
