He closed one eye in a slight flinch, but didn't exactly pull away, his cheeks only got redder. "E-Eh..." He stammered, really flustered. He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out, so he simply shrunk down into the cushions, gazing at the TV but keeping his attention fixed on Ryu.

Though his eyes stayed on the tv screen, Ryuta was really focusing on Shio. Shio was in the corner of his vision and he kept it that way so he could watch both the tv and Shio. He had probably screwed everything up just then but oh well. He couldn't have his friend leaving his grasps. After all, Shio was the only thing he cared about. If Shio didn't bring him groceries then he'd probably starve without realizing until it was to late.
-
Although he liked this show, for some reason he just could keep his mind set on it, and soon he even began to get bored. Shio crossed his arms in slight pout, and nuzzled himself in between Ryu and the sofa cousins, the depression obvious on his face.
-
Ryu obviously saw the change in Shio's behavior and looked down at him with a look of almost concern. "Hey this is your favorite show, I'm even watching it for you. You could pay attention at least..... what's wrong?" he then asked him, looking him in his eyes.
-
"Nah, I'm okay." He murmured with a slight shrug, eyes trailing down to his lap. "Why don't you pick a show now?"
-
Ryu bored his eyes into Shio's, trying to get information from them. "Shio. I've known you for years and if I've learned anything, its when you're happy or sad or mad or other things. So don't think I'll just let a simple 'Nah, I'm ok' is going to make me worry any less" he said.
-
Shio nearly shrunk back at how fierce his friend sounded, shoulders going rigid. "I-I'm just bored!" He whimpered, more than a little daunted by Ryu's sudden mood change. "Other than that I'm fine, honest!" He spoke the truth, but he wasn't so sure his friend would believe it.
-
Ryu looked at him seriously for a second before breaking into a smile with a small laugh. "Ok, ok, calm down i was messing with you" he said, easily covering up the little moment right there by lightening up the mood. "But really this is the first time i've ever heard you being bored when your favorite cop show is on" he said more to himself than to Shio as he changed the channel to another random one he knew Shio liked.
-
Shio fidgeted impatiently, "W-Well there's a first time for everything!" He retorted, staring back at the TV. He was quiet for a few moments, before leaning over and casting a side glance at Ryu once again. "I know you don't like this show either~" He chirped matter-of-factly, eyes round though accusing.
-
Ryu chuckled softly. "Yea, you'd be right but you like it. That's all that matters. I only get to spend a few hours with you after all so I want those hours spent with you being happy" he said with a smile.
-
He blinked in surprise, then pulled his jacket collar up over his face as best he could in order to hide his blush. "Yeah...But I like it when your happy too..." He muttered into the fabric, diverting his gaze away.
-
"Hmm? I'm happy just by seeing you happy so don't worry about it" he said softly and patted Shio's head gently. He looked and acted casual but in the inside his mind was racing. He took a glance at Shio and his eyes ended up staying on him. He looked so cute right now...
-
A faint smile appeared on Shio's face and he laughed quietly, "I don't think you could have been any cheesier." He murmured, slumping back again.
-
Ryu laughed a bit as well. "You want me to get cheesy cause I can be a lot cheesier. I'll recite Hallmark if I need to" he said and poked Shio's side before looking back at the tv
-
He recoiled away laughing, "No need to go that far." Shio replied, perking up a bit, and he crossed his legs. "I'll take your word for it."
-
"great, glad we're on the same page" he said with a smile. He let out a happy sigh and put his arm around Shio's shoulder. "I actually thought you we're going to make me recite Hallmark for a minute" he said dramatically in a joking way.
