  • Tris smiled and gently hugged him. "Thank you. I would love it if we stopped by tomorrow. But..... Can we.... Can we stay at home for a little while and just spend time with each other. I missed sitting by the fireplace and learning how to read and making hot cocoa...." she said softly. "I'm sorry for running."

  • Greg smiled and said, "Of course...What ever you want to do." Then hearing sorry come out of her mouth he gently set her down and knelled down so he could look her in the eyes. "You never have to apologize for mistakes with me...I"m just happy your safe and I want you to know I love you." Kissing her forehead he then picked her up and put her back on his shoulders.

  • Tris smiled, closing her eyes and resting on his shoulders. They would be at the inn soon, or the pub. She couldn't remember at this point. In the meantime, she would collect on some much needed shuteye. A few minutes later, Greg arrived at the pub. Tris slowly opened her eyes and blinked, trying to get her bearings. "Wh-where are we...?" Tris asked softly.

  • "Where at the restaurant!" Greg smiled taking her down and setting her in the chair next to him as they where seated. Smiling he said, "Did you sleep well?"

  • "Mmmm...... Yes...... Good nap," Tris murmured, smiling. The girl slowly opened her eyes, glancing at the dimly lit place and the customers that were chatting at nearby tables. "It looks pretty nice here," she added softly.

  • Greg chuckled and was about to hand her a menu and say this as a perfect teaching moment. "Hey Tris...Do you want some Chicken?" HE asked pointing to the word. "Or some Ham?" Doing the same thing. "Or a hamburger? Or a hot dog?"

  • Tris, not knowing what any of these were, simply decided to pick the easiest to say. "I'd like some ham, please," she replied, glancing briefly at the word to commit it to memory. Turning back to him, she asked, "What would you like?"

  • "Hmm..." He said looking over the menu. "I think I will have the burger." Ordering for the two of them he looked at her and said, "You want a milkshake too?" It sounded good to him so he figured it might sound good to her!

  • "Yes. That sounds good," Tris replied, recognizing the word from earlier. She quietly closed her eyes again, then opened them when the waiter returned. Slowly sipping at her drink, she glanced over at Greg again. "Mister.... Can I be excused for a minute?" she whispered softly, embarrassed.

  • Greg nodded as he took a sip of his drink. "And Tris! You don't have to call me Mister." Smiling he let her do what ever she needed to do, he wouldn't admit it but part of him was scared she might run off again.

  • Tris silently wandered into the bathroom and wretched into the sink. Biting her lip, she drank enough water to make herself feel full. Sighing, she slipped back to the table and fell asleep next to him, not touching the rest of her meal.

  • Greg sighed and felt like something was wrong and figured something was. Not wanting to eat anymore he paided for it and then carried her home and placed her in her bed for the night and went to the library to light the fire place and sit and think.

  • Tris silently woke up early next morning and meandered downstairs. The girl quietly looked through the fridge then began making coffee and oatmeal. Suddenly, she collapsed to the floor, the hot coffee she'd been meaning to pour spilling all over her. The boiling liquid scalded her arms and her stomach, burning her painfully. Tris lay unconscious with broken glass littering the floor around her. Suddenly, the alarm clock upstairs began to blare.

  • "Tris!" Greg shouted as th sound of glass shattering suddenly filled his ears. Running down stairs he picked her until and carried her up the stairs. Glass puncturing his feet as a small trail of blood was left behind him. Rushing her to the bath room he ran a cool bath and laded her in it. Grabbing stuff to dress her wounds he shook he slightly. "Tris...wake up."

  • Tris finally opened her eyes, blinking at him weakly before drifting back to sleep. Finally, after five minutes effort, the girl was fully awake. "D-Daddy? Wh-where am I...? I d-don't feel good..." she whispered weakly. The small girl was still weak from malnutrition and now she had a fever as well, if only a small one. Tris coughed painfully, then winced against the lights. "Ugh...."

  • Greg turned a light off but left a dim glowing one on. Lifting her out of the bath he wrapped her in a towel like a burrito. "It's OK Tris...We just need to get some food and fluids into you." Kissing her forehead softly and feeling that the fever went down he laded her on the couch and got a bag of fluids from a cabinet that held what looked like other medical supplies. Sticking the I.V gently into her wrist he let the fluids start to pump and then got soft foods like soup and a milkshake for her. "Come on Tris...You need to eat." He smiled offering her a spoonful of the shake.

  • "I d-don't want to eat...." Tris whispered lightly. She shivered lightly, then slowly looked down at her arm. Her eyes widened at the needle and she went ballistic. Terrified, she wrenched the needle from her skin then ran upstairs, nearly tripping over her own feet. Still bare skinned, she quickly grasped at the robe on her bed, wrapping herself up in it. Curling into a ball in the closet, she began retching into the trashcan there, tears filling her eyes and hands shaking. A stream of blood from where the IV needle had been slowly threaded it's way down her arm.

  • Greg ran after her and placing a cotton ball on the bleeding spot he pulled her hair out of there face and held her trembling body. Once she finished he turned her towards him and said, "Tris." Firmly he grasped her. "You need to eat! Your making yourself sick!" The thought of losing someone he loved again tears began to well in your eyes. "And if you don't eat I'm gonna lose you because the agency will think I'm starving you! And do you want to go back to that home! I know I don't want you too because I love you Tris."

  • The girl silently listened to Greg, still retching into the trashcan now and then. Her stomach felt horrible and she winced as he gently pressed a cotton ball to her wound and held her. She carefully wiped her mouth with a napkin then tossed that into the trash too. "I-I guess you're right..." Tris whispered softly. Quietly pulling some pajamas on, she hung up her robe, wrapped a blanket around herself, and settled back on Greg's lap. "I'm sorry for fighting you," she whispered. He gently kissed her forehead and assured her that everything was all right and that he just needed her to eat.
"O-Okay.... I-I'll try to eat something," The girl whispered, shaking slightly. Tris whimpered but she didn't fight him when he gently carried her downstairs. She silently finished both the shake and the soup, almost feeling numb. Unfortunately, when he tried to reattach the needle for the IV, her eyes widened and she scrambled back up again, then fell off the couch. It was like she had been replaced with a different person. Clumsily, the child managed to get to her feet. Without a second thought, she swiftly ran upstairs again, blanket nearly coming loose off her shoulders. This time, the girl curled into a ball under her bed, refusing to come out.
Tris wrapped her blanket around herself tightly and cried in terror.

  • Letting her eat he went to the kitchen and preparing another I.V he brought it too her. But this time he told her when he was going to stick it in her. But she pulled away before he could. Sighing he followed her upstairs with a tall glass. Going into her room he looked at her and set the glass by her. "I'll make a deal with you...If you drink 3 glasses of water each day for the next few days then you don't need an I.V. But you need to get some fluids in you or your never going to fell better."
