  • Hello, fellow Sonic fans! This story is about my OC, Spirit the wolf. Artemis, ankun, Maria, and Metal Sonic all know her too well from Artemis' fanfiction -- but do they know the whole story?

Here it is, This is who I am!

    Chapter One

    Playing With Fire

    “Push! Harder!”
The words echoed through my head as I struggled to keep my ground. “Spirit! Come on. You aren’t even trying!” That’s the problem, I thought miserably. I am trying. I tried to push harder, but I felt my feet slipping out from under me. “No, no!” I yelped as I fell down, hard on my backside. I screamed as flames shot out towards me, enveloping my body. I concentrated, and they all quickly died out.
A black wolf stepped beside me, and I was left staring into his disapproving eyes. “Very good absorbing,” he remarked. “That, however, was not the lesson.”
    “Sorry, Dad,” I sighed.
My dad huffed. “’Sorry’ doesn’t help your fighting techniques--or anything else, for that matter.
    “I know, I know!”
“So do it! Why are you holding back on me?”
“I’m not,” I cried out, feeling dejected. “This is honestly all I can do!” I stared at him hopelessly, pleading with whomever would listen at the moment that he would understand.
    Apparently, no one heard.
    My father snorted.
I lowered my gaze, feeling my ears flatten against my skull.
“To your room. And you are not to get out until dinner.”
My head shot up. “But, I told Aurora-”
“Aurora will have to wait until tomorrow. You are to study your techniques until dinner.”
I grit my teeth but nodded solemnly. I got to my feet and stalked to my bedroom, my tail lashing in anger. “Right,” I spat after shutting the door closed. “Study. What good is studying when you actually need to do your techniques?” I walked around the room, mocking myself in the future. “Oh, wait, hold on.” I held up a hand to an invisible enemy. “I just need to check if I got this right.” I gripped an invisible book and turned its invisible pages, looking for the technique I was using. “Oh, wait, there- BAM!” I cut myself off by turning into the invisible enemy and giving myself a kick in the stomach. After my invisible fighting match, I fell onto my back on my bed. I glanced at the clock -- 4:30. Dinner started at 6. I could slip out and in unnoticed. My parents -- or Aurora(the goody-two-shoes she is) would never know. By 4:33 I was out the window, into the afternoon.

    ***

Yes, this chapter is short. I know. I will make longer chapters in the future.

As you can see, Spirit is a bit different than how she acts in Artemis' fanfiction. The reason? Well...you'll find out. :D

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this first chapter, because there's more to come!

  • Chapter Two

    Temper, Temper

I arrived at Aurora's apartment fifteen minutes later. I climbed up a ridiculous amout of steps and knocked on door 3404 in a random rythmic patter.
A lynx with short brown hair and heavy, dark blue eyes opened the door. "Spirit! Hi!" The heavy eyes brightened when they saw me, and the lynx enveloped me in a hug.
I giggled, hugging her back and trying no to fall over. "Hi, hi Aurora," I laughed.
"Spirit! Come inside, come inside!" Aurora let go of me, grabbed my wrist, and dragged me inside.
I tripped over my own feet trying to keep up with her. I looked around warily. "Are-are your parents here?"
Aurora snorted. "When are they here?"
    "I'm guessing that's a no..?"
"Let me rephrase that. When are they here other than to hurt me? Look at this." Aurora pulled odd her sleeveless, arm-length glove to show me her arm.
My hands burst into flames at the sight.
Aurora had revealed several gashes and bruises along her arm. Dried, crusted blood were in several patches, and the gashes were anything but clean cut. My best guess was her parents beat her up then took some sort of kitchen knife and cut her with that. Hot tears threatened to spill over in my eyes. I felt my hot temper boiling, threatening to overflow. "Are you serious? How could they!"
Aurora pulled the glove back on. "Yeah. I-It doesn't matter. As long as they don't-don't hurt anyone else."
"How can you stand that! Why don't you report them?"
Aurora shrugged. "What would that do? I'm not about to live in an orphanage. Ever seen Annie? Well, my luck is about ten times worse than hers." She rolled her eyes. "Let's just go back to my room."
My temper died down, and the flames disappeared. We both trudged to Aurora's small room.
    "MarioKart?"
    "Of course!"
We both giggled, grabbing the Wii remotes and starting to play(before you ask, yes, Aurora's parents did buy this before they started to...yeah...). After a few minutes, my temper soared again, but for a completely different(and quite stupid) reason. "Stupid game," I growled, glaring down at the controls. I stared back at the screen--10th place so far. WHAT?! I would have been in 2nd if stupid Koopa Troopa hadn't pushed me off the stupid ledge into the stupid gap with the stupid lava and ITS ALL STUPID!! Finishing in last, I threw down the remote in frustration. I felt like screaming at the TV screen. "Let's just play a different game."
Aurora, quite unfazed(she's used to my outbursts of anger), put a hand on my shoulder to calm me down. "Just one more race...please?" Her blue eyes pleaded.
I glanced at the clock--5:40. Only 5 more minutes. Only one more game. And I REALLY didn't want to play MarioKart. But this was the most fun Aurora bad in a while. I sighed. "All right," I relented.
Aurora grinned. "Thank you! Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou!!!!!" She enveloped me in another hug.
"Not so hard, you big softie. You might squeeze my smile out," I rolled my eyes but smirked. I picked up the controller and started to play one last time.
    Here's the problem.
My temper hadn't quite lowered completely.
Amd when it doesn't...well, it hadn't yet, but I didn't exactly imagine what could happen.
I was about to find out.
My temper was worse than before, mostly because I was once again losing to Koopa Troopa(may he be dropped into a boiling pot of oil). My hands felt like I had just stuck them into the furnace. My head throbbed like it had never before.
Then someone was shaking me, and I realized Aurora was calling my name. "What?!" I snapped.
Eyes wide and hands singed, Aurora pointed a finger. I looked down and saw the Wii controller had melted in my hands. Then I realized Aurora must have burnt herself trying to snap me out of my haze.
I dropped the glop that had once been a remote in horror. Aurora let me go, her ears flattening. "What was that," she cried out. "It's just a stupid game!"
"Stupid is the word, alright! The controls don't even work," I shot back.
Now Aurora's string was snapped. "That's because you FREAKING MELTED THEM!"
"I didn't even want to play this!"
"Oh, now you're saying it's my fault?!"
"Well, it's definetely not MY fault your parents HATE you and you just stinking PLAY A WII GAME instead of using COMMON sense and CALL THE POLICE!" Aurora flinched, then her eyes widened, backing away.
Taking no notice, I continued. "YOU made me play the game by guilt tripping me by showing your cuts and bruises! And what's worse, I'm late for dinner, and now my parents are going to-"
    Aurora screamed.
I stopped. Aurora never screamed. Not at rollor coasters, horror movies, nothing. I swiveled around. A blast of smoke hit my face. I scrambled back. I then realized, during my rant, fire had been shooting out of my hands and flooding the building. Now half of the apartment was on fire. I heard screams and shouts of people as they evacuated the building. I raced to the window. We couldn't jump and survive without more than a few broken bones. "C-can't you do anything-about this?" Aurora began to cough.
"It's to big! I can only absorb small fires," I whimpered.
"Well, that's just great," Aurora muttered, wiping her watery eyes. She coughed again.
I was uneffected, of course, but I wouldn't leave Aurora alone.
Especially after how I treated her.
I tried to absorb the fire in Aurora's room bit by bit, but there was only so much fire I could hold in. Aurora was on the floor, due to my encougagement to stay low to the ground to avoid the smoke. I couldn't tell if she was awake or unconscious.
A loud wailing sound was head, and my heart ached with relief as a fire truck pulled up. "Here! Here, we're up here!" I started to scream, waving my arms eildly in hope to get their attention.
A few minutes later, Aurora and I were safely back on the ground, watching as the firemen put the fire out. Needless to say, we didn't really talk to each other. I felt a tap on my shoulder and looked up to se my brother, a tall black wolf, staring down at me.
    "Mom and dad?" I whimpered.
    "Angrier than you could imagine."

  • About the stuff on the first page of this -- you guys are silly, but thank you.

And, Anukchan, for several years I've been working on an original series. I have the entire first book in a Word file. I've drawn the official cover. I'm going to probably use CreateSpace to make it into a free Kindle pdf. I just need to copy the original illustrations onto a new piece of paper and color them, then scan the cover and all the drawings. It will take a super long time, and that book isn't all that whatsoever, but someday.

    As for you, luvsonic...
