  • (OOC: Haha, it's fine. That's what I figured it was anyway. :) )

Drizzleheart's whiskers twitched in amusement. He was surprised by Blake's eagerness to get going; studying the territory didn't seem like something that most cats, especially at novice age, would be interested in. He was pleased for this, though. He didn't want to have to teach someone unwilling to learn. "All right," he meowed and stood once again. The tom padded toward the camp entrance and waited just outside for Blake.

  • Blake ran after him. "I want to learn every rabbit hole in this place!"

  • Drizzleheart smiled. "Good, then I have plenty to show and teach you," he meowed. The Gazer led Blake into the forest at a slow pace. He wanted the young cat to see everything, and he certainly couldn't do that if they rushed through.

  • Blake smiled. "Look!" He said pointing to a rabbit hole. "Is this new?" He asked.

  • Drizzleheart padded toward the hole and studied it for a moment before answering. "Yes, it is," he meowed. "Nice spotting!" The tom purred, proud of the young cat. He would make a fine Gazer one day.

  • Blake paws tingled with excitment. "Can I mark it on the map?!" He asked.

  • Drizzleheart grinned at the young cat's excitement. "I suppose you could this time," he replied.

  • Pinestar looked around, a little frustrated that her deputy hadn't woken up yet. "Cherryheart!" she called out, trying to get her attention. She paced around, eager for the day to get started.

Fernstep was stalking a squirrel, working at staying downwind.

    <edit>
ooc: I just thought of something, I think I've been posting the "downwind" and "upwind" thing wrong. Are you supposed to stay downwind of prey or upwind? Maybe my mind is just frazzled. :P

  • Pinestar smiled when her deputy finally got up. "I need you to gather a patrol and mark the borders, please. Already they can be seen visually, since it's just at the base of the hill. I think I explained to you earlier, but the border should be along the river and then along the edge of the golden grass field." she meowed, hoping that it was clear enough. The folded-ear cat looked up at the sky, suprised to notice that the new star was still noticeable. Now I'm sure that it is a good omen, she thought.
    ---
Fernstep brought her second squirrel back to the camp and dropped it in the fresh-kill pile. She saw Cherryheart awake, and padded over to her.

  • Blake ran back to camp and marked the rabbit hole where he saw it. He then ran back his mentor.

  • Graylegs opened his eyes, squinting them in the bright sunlight. "Oh, no," he growled, leaping to his feet. "I must've slept in late!" He grunted as he jumped out of the Warrior's Den. "Well, no one seemed to have wanted me for any duties," he mewed. "Considering that nobody bothered to wake me up." He looked around.

  • Drizzleheart watched Blake leave, and then return quickly. "Alright, you choose which direction we go," he meowed. His tail twitched with anticipation as he awaited his novice's choice. He loved this territory, and couldn't wait to see which way they would be traveling this morning.

  • "Okay, let's go!" Taylar called. She raced off to find the mint leaves and almost tripped over a log. "Ah, almost got me there did ya log?" Taylar put a paw on the log to show who was the better person but the log was loose and rolled away so she fell flat on the ground.

  • Blake flicked his tail to the right. "Let's go that way. I think I smell some medicine herbs." He said.

  • Drizzleheart nodded and began walking in the direction Blake had pointed. "You have a keen nose, there," he commented. "Can you tell exactly what herb it is?" He was curious just how good the young cat's sense of smell was

  • Shade nodded and followed her novice, letting her lead the way. She chuckled at Taylar's reaction to the log, wondering where she got such a wild personality. I wonder what it will be like when she starts out on her own... the she-cat casually thought, imagining Taylar in a serious situation.

  • "Very good," Drizzleheart meowed. He knew which herbs were there, as he was the gazer. It was good to see just how strong Blake's nose was, though. "Why don't you pick some and we can take them back for Shade? I'm sure she'd appreciate it."

  • "Ok." He said and plucked some berried and then picked some on the leaves and flowers.
