[fancypost bgcolor=; borderwidth=0px; bordercolor=; width: 425px;][justify]If one had told him that he was a fantastic leader, he would quickly say the opposite. Not for being a humble fellow, but because he knew that he wasn't a good leader.
Leaders were powerful, courageous, and had a strong will. Leaders were always there for their people. Leaders were not, however, immature and sensitive people, and kept themselves confined in a room due to a stupid illness that could have been cured ages ago. And yet, others kept calling him the leader. Were there traits deep inside that truly made him the captain of his clan? Because he couldn't see it.
His paws lead him outside for the first time in a while, his noise twitching as he inhaled the fresh outdoor scent, only to begin coughing again. The time was running out, but he just had to see that special little place again. He just had to. But wasn't that greedy of him? He should really be out with his clanmates right now. Another piece of evidence to support his thinking.
Ao Shin stood by the beach, close enough to the waves that he could get wet, which was something he hated. A tall stone was embedded to the ground, along with a few pebbles that adorned it. Flowers ranging from daisies to roses were littered around the place, though most were placed in the middle. He sniffed in the oh-so familiar scent, closing his eyes briefly to remember the honey-coloured pelt belonging to his dear sister.
Chocolate brown eyes opened themselves to stare down upon a thin piece of cloth - the blanket that he used to share with his sister when they used to live with twolegs. It was the only thing that held the scent of Nidalee, though it was quickly being eaten away by the salty smell of the sea. But he stopped caring. After all, he was going to be able to inhale the same scent soon. Just...a little thing to calm himself down.
He burst into another fit of hacking coughs, these one releasing a bit of blood though not enough to be worrisome. Eyes narrowed at the blood splatters, thinking of the day he heard what had happened to his sister. Would his life end like hers? His body falling from a cliff to end his life instantly? No, he knew what was going to happen. No doubt that anything could even change it. The infection had already settled in a long time ago, and it wasn't likely that anything could actually be done about it now.
As his legs grew weaker and weaker from holding his frail body up, Ao Shin seated himself upon the sand, the salty waters slowly crawling towards him. Coldness began to spread through his body as one of the waves managed to soak his underbelly. It didn't really matter anymore. Nothing really did. He couldn't even tell reality from his imagination anymore.
He rested his head on his paws, still coughing though he was sure now that his throat would be too swollen to even release another breath of oxygen. Ears flicked back and forth tiredly as he looked up at the rising sun. Too early for anyone to be up by now. It would spare them from watching him die slowly and painfully.
The canine's optics fluttered shut, his coughs ceasing though his breathing was short and heavy. He didn't know why he was still trying anymore. Death was waiting for him, not to mention his dear sister as well. Finally, his shoulders relaxed as his stomach stopped rising.
And that little tail of his began to wag no more.
