Chaosclan
Intro
Chaoskit was rightly named; even in the nursery he found ways to wreak havoc on the other kits and queens. Once apprenticed, Chaospaw began learning the warrior code…and breaking it every time he got the chance. He found great pleasure in traipsing around other clans’ territories, stealing prey and boldly leaving the remains to taunt them. He was warned time and time again, but never heeded the advice of his elders. Finally, on the night that he would have been named a warrior, he was banished from his clan. And so Chaospaw left…but not forever. One moon later, Chaospaw lured a badger into his old camp. During the mayhem that ensued, Chaospaw swiped a litter of kits from the nursery. He set off to find a territory in which he could raise his stolen kits, whom he named Poison, Toxic, and Venom. He found an ideal spot, and began his life as a loner. He raised the kits as his own, teaching them to depend on each other and to do whatever it takes to survive and prosper. He also taught them loyalty and honor, but to his own warped version of the warrior code. After a while, other loners started requesting to join them. A clan was forged, and given the name ‘ChaosClan’. Seeing the opportunity, Chaospaw set up a hierarchy in which his three heirs would rule. Poison became leader, in charge of rules and defending the territory. Toxic became the head hunter, in charge of hunting patrols and gathering prey. And Venom became the spiritual leader, in charge of interpreting the signs and speaking to their fallen members, the Lost Ones. Together, the three ruled, governing the clan and keeping it powerful. Chaospaw, satisfied with his work, vanished, and was not seen again…so far.
Beliefs
ChaosClan believes that its fallen warriors stay behind to guide them as Lost Ones. Only the Venom may communicate with them. The Lost Ones bring guidance, encouragement, and strength to the clan, urging them to do whatever it takes to succeed. The Lost Ones also choose the Heirs, and reveal their choice to the Venom in a sign.
Traditions
Thieves: Every full moon, the Poison, Toxic, and Venom join to choose a Thief to kidnap a litter of kits. The stolen kits are kept until old enough to be apprenticed. Then, they are forced to fight amongst themselves. The winner of this fight becomes a Learner, and is given full clan rights. The losers, if not killed in battle, are chased out and left to find their way back home on their own, if they can.
Naming: When a Learner has finished their training, they are given a Naming Ceremony. The Poison decides what rank to give the Learner, and names them accordingly.
Heirs: An heir is chosen by the Lost Ones. If a Generation is to be an Heir, when they are given their ceremony to become a Learner, the moonlight will shine off their pelt and give them the appearance of being a ghost. They then become an Heir, and the Venom studies them to see whether they will be the next Poison, Toxic, or Venom. They are then given their name, and are taught only by the cat they will eventually replace. They will replace the cat either in the event of death, or when the cat is too old to maintain their job.
Mates: When two cats decide that they want to be mates, they must go speak to the Venom. The Venom will then perform a Mating Ceremony, and the cats will be recognized as mates. However, a cat doesn’t need to have a mate to have kits. The Mating Ceremony is just for cats that want to be mated to only one cat until the death of one or both of the cats.
Ranks
Poison: the leader in charge of making and enforcing all rules and decisions. He is in charge of the Defenders. (S)He always has the name Poison.
Toxic: the leader in charge of assigning Learners to a Teacher. He is in charge of the Hunters. (S)He always has the name Toxic.
Venom: the spiritual leader, in charge of interpreting signs and interacting with the Lost Ones. He also reveals the next Heirs to the clan. (S)He always has the name Venom.
Healer: Heals sicknesses and injuries. Their name must have ‘cure’ in it. (Ex: Swallowcure, Snowcure, etc.)
Thief: These are honored cats who steal kits from other clans. Their name must have ‘thief’ in it somewhere. (Ex: Mossthief, Shadowthief, Theiftail, etc.)
Hunter: Catch prey and provide freshkill. Their name must have something to do with ‘speed’ in it. (Ex: Quicktail, Fastheart, Ravenspeed, etc.)
Defenders: Fight off intruders and do border patrols. Their name must have something to do with ‘fire’ in it. (Ex: Flamepelt, Sparrowblaze, Firefur, etc.)
Teachers: These cats are relieved of their usual duties in order to teach Learners. They will, however, go on hunting/border patrols with their Learner to give them experience.
Learners: Cats that have reached the age of six moons and are being taught. They have the word ‘Train’ in their name. (Ex: Skytrain, Beartrain, Tigertrain, etc.)
Lifebringers: She-cats that are used mainly for breeding. They have ‘Life’ in their name, unless they are mated, in which case they have ‘Spirit’ in their name.
Generations: Kits under six moons of age. Have ‘New’ in their name. (Ex: Newmoon, Newmoss, Newheart, etc.)
Heirs: An heir is a Learner chosen by the Lost Ones to become the next Poison, Toxic, or Venom. Their names must be either Antidote (for next Poison), Chemical (for next Toxic), or Virus (for next Venom)
Retireds: Cats too old to perform their duties and have a purpose. They have the choice to stick around until their time comes, or be honorably killed to join the Lost Ones.
Rules (OOC)
1) If you sign up, please be on at least every other day. I want this plot to have dedicated role players that will be loyal to it and will post regularly.
2) This is an advanced role play. That means that correct spelling, punctuation, and capitalization is required, as well as proper grammar. I understand that sometimes you will make mistakes, and I will be lenient about them. Just please try your hardest to keep your posts clean and acceptable.
3) All normal role playing rules apply. (Ex. No godmodding, no racial slurs, etc.)
Rules (IC)
1) The Poison, Toxic, and Venom are in authority. They are to be treated with equal respect and honor.
2) If a cat wishes to change his rank, he must speak to the Poison. The poison will consider his request, and will choose to either change the rank/name of the cat, or will decide that he is better served with his old rank.
3) Learners are to respect their Teachers and follow their every command. When finished with training, they will be given a new name and rank by the Poison.
