  • Emma looked up at him with her green eyes.
"You look terrible."She said with a giggle at him and then pulled away taking hold of his hand instead.

Dawn smiled down at her looking into those green eyes that look so much like her sisters.
"You haven't changed a bit."He teased and then turned his gaze to look at the others.
"Jake, Kiba, Jessica."Dawn said in greeting to them.

Jake turned to look at him wide eyed. He had changed... a lot. It seams Dawn had gone from a boy to a man.
"Dawn."He said in greeting and then took a somewhat protective stance next to Jessica.

  • Jessica smiled slightly - at least now they wouldn't have to worry about Seth. She could tell that Emma disagreed with it by the look on her face, and Jessica shrugged. She didn't know what else to do to get him to leave them alone.
She turned to Kiba and asked, "Are you ok?" she saw the blood on her arm, but Kiba wasn't looking like she was about to die or anything, so that was good.
And then suddenly he was there. Dawn. Not quite realizing what she was doing, Jessica grabbed Jake's hand and squeezed it. Hard.
She was afraid of Dawn, afraid of what he might do to her. She deserved whatever he did.
"Dawn," she licked her lips trying to find the right words to say. "You smell."
She winced; that wasn't what she had meant to say. But then again, what had she meant to say? 'I'm sorry I caused your girlfriend's death?' or how about, 'hey, sorry I was so evil. let's be pals.'
    Yeah, not happening.

  • Seth, even though most of his vision was obscured by the wolf’s fur, could see a look between Emma and Jessica. They didn’t want him by them, which was a smart idea. If they showed any sign of weakness he would kill them. Then the furry beast removed herself so he could stand up. He rolled his shoulders and picked up his gun. He then went around getting his two knives back. He wasn‘t going to get the harpoon or net traps back, they may fold small but they were still heavy. He considered if the new comer was an assassin. He greeted them so warmly he doubted it. Seth did wonder what the newcomer’s powers were. Could they be helpful?

“So are you like the alpha in this group, or are you just a random guy who likes appearing in some of the most inconvenient situations?” He asked Dawn.

  • Jake stoked her hand gently with his thumb.
He watched Dawn's every move, he would stand in his way if he tried to hurt her.

Dawn raised an eyebrow at Jessica's words.
She was either very brave or a complete idiot, he couldn't decide.
"You don't find to many showers in the forest."He said as he stared at her with his dark eyes.
"I tend to show up when I'm needed and disappear when I'm not."Dawn answered as he turned to the boy with the guns.

Emma turned to glare at Jessica when she spoke but then began filling Dawn in by showing him memories.

  • Smiling at Jake, Jessica found a bit more courage with him by her side. She knew that even after everything she had done to hurt him, he would still protect her. And besides, it wasn't like she was that defenceless herself.
She took a small step forward towards Dawn, and looked him straight in the eye. "Listen, I'm sorry about before." Then, she turned to include the whole flock. "All of you. I've always been a stuck-up, arrogent, egomaniac jerk, and I'm sorry. I'm gonna try to change...although I can't promise anything. It's kinda hard to make up for a whole life of acting...well, the way I acted."
She blushed; apologies where definately not her strong point.

  • Emma turned to stare at Jessica when she made her crappy monologue.
"You can say that again..."She mumbled and rolled her eyes.

"Sorry doesn't take your actions back, and it doesn't bring her back."Dawn said hie eyes level, his voice did not sound angry or sad, it was just a statement of fact.

Emma fell silent at the word 'her.' She knew exactly who he meant and pain came to her chest at the memory.

Dawn was always the one to be flat out, no one would ever call him a liar. He said what he thought, but at the same time did not show his feelings.

  • Hurt by his words, Jessica stepped back, her head down. "I know," she said. "I can never make up for what I took from you." She sighed, looking down at the ground, unable to meet anyone's eyes. "I'm not the person I was then, though. At least, I don't wanna be. I'm trying to change, I promise."
This was really hard for her...but she wanted to do it. Sure, she would probably keep acting like a jerk every once in a while, but that didn't mean she couldn't improve, did it?

  • Dawn ran his hand through his hair.
"Jessica, I forgave you a long time ago. But that doesn't mean I have to like you."He said bluntly as he studied Jake for a moment, remembering when they had all been good friends.
Fighting at each others sides. He then wondered how he had been the one to end up alone. It had been Jessica's fault after all.
No he would never be friends with her, but Dawn no longer had the heart to hate anyone.

Emma said nothing just looked from Dawn to Jessica and back again.

Jake met Dawn's eye as if sharing his thought for a moment.
"Dawn how did we end up like this?"He asked quietly as he stared at Dawn wishing they could be friends again.

"I think you should ask your girlfriend that question."Dawn said his eyes hard as rocks when he met Jake's gaze.

  • Kiba rolled her eyes and looked up her blue eyes staring at Dawn. She believed in Jessica which was plainly seen when after wrapping up her arm she stood a little bit in front of her making it clear she was on her side, Zephyr stood behind Kiba licking Jessica a bit.
Valor, Azure, and Stone came from the woods each standing so that they surrounded Seth.
"Are we going to eat him?" Valor asked.
"No, though I don't think we should keep this one with us," Kiba barked walking up to Seth and then circling him as a wolf would circle and stalk around it's prey, even her movements wolf like. Her wings hung from her back not moving.
"We should move from this place, find somewhere safe," Zephyr barked.
Kiba nodded, "There's a place I know not far from here, that's out of the way we should be safe for a while, there are supplies there too," she said.
"You ride with me," she said to Seth as she hopped onto Zephyr's back, Zephyr's place in front of Jessica being taken by Stone. She motioned for the boy to get on behind her.

  • "I don't blame you..." Jessica said quietly to Dawn. "I wouldn't want to be my friend either."
Then, she looked over at Kiba. "A place to stay? What?"
She looked over at Emma. "Should we go? Or wait here and fight...them." she shuddered, the assassins frightened her.

  • Was that a hidden clue? If its a clue its very witty, but mutants aren’t smart. He watched the love stuck scene with no emotion. It was mutant love; it wasn’t like it was going to last forever. They would probably end up dying by an expiration date anyways. So really, even if Seth failed killing a mutant early it would still die in its later years. Wait doesn’t that mean that the mutant hunting them were kids? If they weren’t they must have found way around the fail safe.

”You’re being hunted by assassins and it looks like a few of you are going to have an emotional breakdown. Get off your ass and get moving.”

Then this wolf girl started to circle him like prey. Odd… Then she told him to ride on one of her pets. [b]”No way weirdo, I got my own ride. I will follow wherever you go.”

  • "Who's the smart a**?"He asked as if Seth hadn't spoken.
Dawn's eyes studied Seth for a moment sizing him down.
He didn't look like much of a threat, especially with Dawn's power.
You can't shoot something that you can't see.

Emma snorted and turned her green gaze to Seth.
She looked at him for a moment and then her eyes clouded.

  • Jessica sighed in frustration. "So, what are we doing?" she said impatiently. Then, feeling ashamed, she added, "Sorry, I'm a little stressed here. So what exactly are we doing?"

  • Kiba snorted, "I suggest we first knock this one out preferably with something of the cast iron orientation, and then we're heading to a safe place I know," she said from atop Zephyr's back.

  • The guy with attachment problems stared at Seth. He just gave a shrug, he said what he saw. “Iron orientation? Do you mean hitting someone with a heavy object? Please use proper grammar; otherwise people will think you are stupid. Wait you are!” He started to laugh at his own joke. He didn’t think these mutants had the skills to knock him out.

  • Kiba turned to Seth, "Cast Iron you moron like a frying pan, and I'm not stupid, you're the one with crap for brains. You think you know everything about mutants, but the truth is you don't know jack!" she snarled.

  • Jessica rolled her eyes, and then let out a sharp whistle to get everyone's attention. "Alright, listen up! Kiba, stop trying to start fights with Seth, please. If you wanna fight, you can help us deal with the assassins later. Seth, stop with the whole mutant prejdudice, ok?"

She turned to Dawn. "As much as it pains me to say this, I don't know what to do. Are we going to Kiba's safe house or what?"

  • Dawn smirked when she turned to him for help.
He would have enjoyed basking in pride over this but they didn't have the time....
There wasn't even enough time to tell her 'I told you so.'
"It doesn't matter where, anywhere but here. We need to keep the move on until were ready to fight them."He said as if it were obvious.

Emma stood now deep in thought.
