Autumnkit squealed when she heard a deeper voice in the nursery.

Leafkit shrieked after she'd heard her sister's shrill cry. She burried her face into her mother's soft fur, hoping to find comfort.

"What the heck was that?" SilverFin asked.

"Something just spooked them." Leafshimmer meowed, curling her tail around her kits protectively.

"What would spook them?" SilverFin asked.

"Your voice." Leafshimmer meowed, trying not to seem sarcastic. "I mean, your voice changed really low."

"Am I that old?" SilverFin gasped.

"Oh, of course not!" Leafshimmer meowed. "You just... um... yawned?" She mewoe,d trying to make up an excuse.

"Oh I don't know." SilverFin said.

"Your not old, Silverfin." Leafshimmer purred, flicking her tail gently across Silverfin's shoulders.

"I hope not." SilverFin purred. "You're really young. Not old whatsoever."

"Oh, I know." Leafshimmer purred, puffing out her chest with pride of her youth. "I'm just afraid of what will happen to me when I do get old."

"No one will tell whether you're old or not because you're so beautiful."

"Ha!" Leafshimmer meowed. "Trying to get sweet on me?" She purred, flicking her tail over Silverfin's shoulder.
