A tentative beeping woke me from a rather odd dream. Which included some type of howling and a yellow eyes. I groan and rub my eyes. I sit up and glance around my room. I lean over and turn off my alarm clock. Parting my lips I yawn and swing my legs over the side and run a hand through my brunette head. I slip out of my cotton bottoms and top that were covered with hopelessly girly roses. I hated them but I didn't need to buy new ones if they fit, right? I slip on my pair of running shorts and a tank-top. Pulling my hair into a ponytail I grab my tennis shoes and slip outside. The sun was just rising, hints of orange peaked through the pine trees. I sat down on the front steps and laced up my shoes. Standing up I head down the winding dirt path leading into the tall pines. I pick up the pace a little and begin to jog.

I loved running. Helped me clear my head. Escape everyday life. In a small town like Fork Washington, things got a little boring. About halfway through my run I could have sworn I heard something. But I ignored it. I always took early runs, and nothing had happened to me. I continue to run but I heard another noise behind me. I stop completely and try to catch my breath. Something rustles behind me.
