Alpha's gaze flicked between the three wolves. She let out a sharp snarl. "I think it's time Shade started his training anyway."

Shade flinched, cringing away. He didn't know what training had in store, but he did not want to come out as a vicious wolf.

Alpha watched him go. She almost liked the new him. "Wait!" she called, her voice rising.

"I think it would be in our mutual interest if you...stayed," Alpha barked, her eyes watching for his reaction.

Alpha ignored her healer, turning to Stefan. "You're strong. You're powerful. And I am in charge, if you stay. There won't be an exception. But you should."

Shade blinked, shrinking back. Stefan was changed. He was no longer the father figure Shade had once seen him as.

Alpha turned to Griselda. "What?" she growled in a challenging manner.

Alpha's nose twitched. "What? More wolves?" she growled, getting up.

Alpha sniffed again. She started toward the scent, stumbling upon a wolf. "Who are you?"

"Really?" Alpha sneered, looking down on the wolf. "And why? Your weak, as though you're an omega.What use are you?"

Alpha shook her head. "No, we'll wait for him. The fact is...well, you don't look like a cruel wolf at all. Every wolf in my pack has been trained to kill as their first instinct."
