  • The jet-black cat stopped. The sounds of the crumbling building filling his ears, he tom knew there were three options: Save the cats which he could hear above, save himself and see if they come out, or die deciding.
    After carefully weighing the three options, he decides to go hide outside in a bush, just in case this was the lynx's way of murdering him. Night waited patiently in the bush.

    (I had a better post all typed out, but my internet forced me to login as I hit post, and it never got sent out. This is essentially what it was.)

    **Night**2 1/8yrs**Black Tom**

  • Hearing the cracking sounds made the she-cat's ears perk up, but she now saw a figure in the bushes down below. Even though she knew that whatever was hiding down there would probably laugh at the fact that her and another cat were up there, about to be killed by a falling building. But she quickly looked back at the tom that stood in front of her. The moment she heard that one crack that formed even more crumbling sounds, she knew how to handle it. But she saw that a large part of the stones was already falling towards the tom, making her instantly forget her worries about him attacking her. "Then you're lucky that you won't die from either," she stated before lunging forward and throwing herself into the tom, hoping that they both were falling off the edge rather then getting smashed by rocks.

    IC; The pillar exploded, throwing small stones and dust in all directions. The two cats had fallen down one full level, but they had managed to survive the fall intact. The three remaining pillars promptly followed the first pillar, and the fourth level collapsed onto the third level. Soon after, a loud crack could be heard coming from the inside of the tower. Poking his head up, the tom meowed, signaling his tail to the grass-covered road, "That... was suicidal, but effective. The jump from here to the path shouldn't be as bad." As he looked onto his target landing point, he noticed something in the bushes, a cat. He shook himself, the bush would have to wait, or not be investigated at all, it was more important to survive the tower's collapse.

    OOC;

  • After a moment of thinking, she then noticed the road and instantly made the jump, not pushing the tom like she did before. Since he was the one who said it, he had to jump on his own, right? So she quickly made her way to the road, hoping that she could get away quickly. If he learned what she really looked like and could remember her if she ran, he would probably find her somewhere else, which she normally didn't want happening. Once she made it to the road, she instantly hid behind a large bush that could easily give her cover, but it wasn't close to where she saw the other cat. But that thought reminded her that there was now a cat close by along with the tom she had just saved. She had to try and get through this without getting herself killed.

    IC; A large rock landed a mere metre from his tail. Making final adjustments, the brown tabby jumped down, landing on the dry grass softly. He looked around for the she-cat that had, in a way, saved him. The fiery-black cat had disappeared, but there had to be a scent trail. There was always a scent trail. Aware of the eyes staring at him from a bush, the same eyes that watched them fall from the third level, he scanned the bushes. If he were trying to hide, he'd use a bush large enough to hide a cat. That narrowed it down to... a lot.
    Though normally patient, there was a building waiting to tip over, and it was rather important to get out.

    As he was ready to simply give up, he had a wild idea. Picking a random bush, hoping luck was on his side, the tom made a final check to make sure the bush didn't have the spying cat. Once he was satisfied, and after hearing the tower make yet another cracking sound, he dashed towards the bush as fast as he could, preparing to ram it.

    OOC;

  • Seeing the tom race towards one of the bushes around her cause her to skip a beat, but the she stayed in the shadows. The sound of a much louder cracking filled her ears and her eyes scanned back to the building, which was now making its way to the ground. She watched as the building shattered and crashed onto the use-to-be road, sending dust and debris in all directions. Although she had been staring straight at the building, she didn't catch the sight of a stone flying her way, throwing her back into plain sight on the cracked road. For a moment, she simply laid their with a small whine coming from her throat, but when she tried to lift her paws and stand, she let out a loud yelp, just like the one she made when the thorns had been poking and prodding her. When her eyes looked down at one of her paws, the stone had fallen onto it and trapped her leg right where it was.

    IC; Stopping almost immediately when hearing the yelp, with about a tail-lenght left between the bush and him, he managed to dodge the incoming torrent of pebbles. Despite the loud bang of the tower's destruction, which stunned him momentarily, the tom headed towards the source of the yelp. Associating it with the incident on the tower, before it exploded, he quickened his pace.
    Finding destroyed bushes, and large pieces of the building, he looked for the she-cat. Spotting the pair of eyes in an intact bush nearby, he centered his eyes on a stone and a cat. Empowered by what he believed to be determination, the tabby shook himself for the second time that day. "Need help?" He inquired.

    OOC;

  • At first the she-cat was tempted to say that she was fine and that she could handle it by herself, but the stone was crushing her leg more then she wished. Not wanting to let her voice out like she had before, she only nodded before looking away towards where she had seen the other cat before. Since she was in the shadows once again, her pelt was no longer as visible as it was before, letting only her eyes show.

    IC; Nodding in return, he nosed and pawed the stone, after what seemed like an eternity, the stone finally rolled off her leg completely. The manoeuvre was completed skillfully, as though the same motion had been repeated many times before. The dust from the building's collapse was finally settling, and the sun was beginning to go down, although it was still fairly high in the sky.

    OOC;

  • When she was finally able to move her leg, the she-cat was tempted to charge away and get as far away as she possibly could. But even though she wanted to run, she knew that not at least saying thanks would be very rude after he helped her. But now that the sun was going down, the beams of light were now going through where they wouldn't before, lighting up where the she-cat was standing. Her tiger-like pelt now stood out once again along with her eyes, only now since her face wasn't completely lit up, she seemed quite mysterious.

    IC; Looking around, he finally noticed the destruction caused by the tower's collapse. Unsure of what to do, he looked at the bush in which the eyes were. There was no more sign of that mysterious cat. He glanced around once more, unsure of what to say.

    OOC;

  • Out of the shadows, the jet-black cat emerged. After careful observation of the duo, he'd concluded that it was impossible for these two cats to be following the lynx's orders. They had to be independent, separate from the lynx. He decided the best course of action would be to speak to them directly. "Hello, I see you were in the building when it began to collapse. Are you two alright?" He meowed quizzically.

    **Night**2 1/8yrs**Black Tom**

  • Seeing that, once again, a cat was coming to her, the she-cat back up slightly, but stopped after a few steps. After a moment of thinking of what to say, she was finally able to say, "we're fine I believe." She then looked over at the tom who was up on the building with her and she realized that she wasn't the only one who needed to say thanks. She had just saved that tom's life, so she had to find a way to make him see that to without just saying it out loud.

    IC; Fully aware that he was forgetting something, the arrival of the spying cat awoke him from his silent state. "I believe so as well." He meowed at the black cat, before whispering at the unidentified she-cat, "I must thank you for what you did on the tower. Given the circumstances, most cats I've come across are much happier saving their pelts rather than risking them."

    OOC; [EDIT] Fixed unidentified

  • Hearing the thanks from the tom made her tail curl slightly, something it hadn't done in a while, considering it only did that when she was happy. "You're one of the first cats i've seen in a long time, so I couldn't risk being by myself again," she stated before looking back at the black cat, thinking of something to say. For a moment, she wondered if she should have asked if there were any other cats around. But she knew that she wouldn't want to ask that, since she also didn't want any other cats. Two was good enough.

    IC; "You're the only cat I've seen since..." He began, pausing for a few moments, "since my friends were killed by the wolves in the outskirts. You've been to the outskirts before, yes?" He continued, deciding to finish with a question. Diverting his attention to the black cat, particularly to its eyes, seeing no sign of any emotions, except for fear. The tabby turned its head abruptly away from the black tom, for he felt weird looking at this cat, something he couldn't quite pin-point.

    OOC;

  • With how long she had stayed in this jungle, she had been almost everywhere the city had to offer, remembering where almost everything is. So it was no surprise that it was the outskirts where his friends were killed. She knew that most of wolves and coyotes stayed around the edges of the city while the lynxes went everywhere they could find. She didn't want to answer his question and act like she knew everything, so she simply nodded and waited to see where the conversation would go.

    IC; "Right... well, the wolves, they usually prefer to attack directly. And if it wasn't for my... friends, they wouldn't have been a problem. We expected the wolves to attack our camp, but they never came. They waged a war of attrition, we couldn't get into our hunting grounds, and knew all they had to do was wait until we became weak." He meowed, "So, the day came. In the middle of the night, the wolves stormed the camp, I warned the others we were hopelessly outmatched, but they refused to believe me. I decided that if they would not come, and I could not convince them, I would have to leave."
    His tail twitching, Icarus finished his story, "I set out to find other cats within this place, and the rest, you know."

    OOC;

  • His story was sad in all, but she didn't really know what that felt like. She hadn't been around other cats in a long time, so having friends wasn't something she was used to. Even though she felt bad that he lost his friends, she didn't want to know about something she used to have but had it taken from her. Slight memories from her past came back to her, making her claws form out of her paws and dig into the vines and grass below her feet. She knew that whatever she had to say would probably be very rude, so, as she had been doing almost the whole time, she kept silent.

    IC; "What's wrong?" He inquired, noticing her claw at the grass. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't be in this entire mess, but not every battle can be won. A lynx could be heard in the distance.
