  • Hydrangea Bud (Hydra)

    (Generic pony maker, yay!)

Hydrangea Bud was a serious pony. Perhaps so serious to the point, it was weird. But she was also weird in a different way. She liked to sit in fields of flowers and just talk. She talked to nopony at all, just to herself. Or so everypony thought.

Hydra love flowers. Her cutie mark had to do with flowers. She could tell how a flower felt. If it was happy, she knew. If it was sad, she knew.

Unfortunately for her no one understood this and why she took flowers so seriously. Instead ponies chose to whisper about her and laugh. She knew all to well that they did this. So she was serious.

The flowers were happy. It was spring and time for them to bloom. They were quietly humming a song to Hydra as her eyes fluttered sleepily. Yes, if the flowers were happy, she was happy. Even the dandelions were pleased.

Hoofsteps echoed in the distance and the flowers began to worry. They didn't want to be trampled. Hyrda sat up and watched over the flower protectively, waiting for whatever pony was approaching.

  • Hydra didn't move aggressively towards the mare that wandered into the meadow. Instead she watched her uncertainly, noting her ragged breathing. The plants were okay, this pony meant no harm to them. She suddenly stood at the sound of more hoofsteps and dashed towards the pony. "Please stay back."

A small group of stallions and mares strode into the forest. Hydra tucked her ears back and gave an unfriendly look.

  • Midnight turns around as they walk into the meadow. They walk toward midnight, but then notices the other mare. They ignore her and go after Midnight. Midnight slowly backs away. She knew it was going to be worse, she made a big mistake tripping the coolest girl in school.

  • "Ahem, if you choose to rough house here, I'm afraid you'll have to face off with me." Hydra spoke with a no nonsense tone. She began walking towards them. "Bullying is a very sad thing to do, truly pathetic I must say." The flowers whispered in agreement with her words. The earth pony mare snorted in annoyance.

  • With an eye roll Hydra stepped towards them quietly. "I shall warn you one last time. Leave or I'll make your visit an unpleasant one." She stomped her hooves for effect, digging into the ground. She never backed down for her own bullies and she would never back down from these ones. Even if there were many more than she anticipated.

  • The lead stallion laughs again and says " so you want to fight? Ok, buy I don't play fair." Hr nods at two stallions and they walk around her forming a circle. Midnight watches from a bush. She hated watching fights, but she felt the mare would win

  • Hydra stood silently watching their movements. They didn't seem to even have any sort of tactics in this fight, except using their greater number of fighters. She watch, poised to dodge and attack.

  • The two stallions nod at each other and jump at the same time. Midnight gasps and uses her unicorn powers. She holds one in the air letting the mare get the other one. The lead stallion frowns and snorts

  • Hydra twirls on her front hooves to face away from the stallion and kicks with her back hoofs with all her might. The buck sends the stallion flying back in midst of his jump. Turning her focus away from that stallion, she moves towards the one being held in the air by Midnight.

  • Midnight turns the stallion upside down and sends him down hitting his head hard. The lead stallion turns and retreats with his group. Midnight comes out and smiles

  • Hydra watched as they ran off. "Goodness, they are rather wimpy." She stated easily. She turned her gaze towards Midnight. "You aren't injured are you? Any scratches that need to be looked at." She examined her at a distance, trying not to weird her out.

  • Hydra sighed in relief. "I'm glad to hear this. Um, perhaps if you have the time, would you care to join me for some tea? It could help calm ourselves after such an.. Exciting event."

  • "I'm sorry." Hydra frowned. "I hope they won't bother you anymore.. Oh yes, I must properly introduce myself. I'm Hydrangea Bud but Hydra will be much shorter. What may I call you?" She bent over some roses and whispered. "May I borrow some petals?" The roses shed some petals and she carefully picked them up in her mouth.

  • " Oh, I'm Midnight Spark, but you can call me Midnight." Midnight blushes a bit and looks around. She watches the flowers move with the wind.
