Vince looked irritated at being demoted to a "friend" of Paige's.
"I'm gonna go talk to Derek," he grumbled, walking off to go talk to his brother.
"He's a little touchy sometimes," Paige said awkwardly.

Atavia watched Vince as he walked away, clearly annoyed for some reason. "I can see that." She said with a smile, as she looked back over at Paige.
-
"So you go to Ridgewood High, right?" Paige asked.
-
"Yes I do." Atavia said with a smile. "I usually sit behind you in class." She added.
-
"Oh…I don't see you, sorry," Paige said, her cheeks turning red.
-
"No need to be sorry. I am used to it." Atavia said with a small smile as she rested a hand on Paige's shoulder, but removed it, since she wasn't sure if that would make her mad at her for doing so.
-
Paige's shoulder tingled at the touch. What was wrong with her? The more she was around this girl, the more her body reacted. Her stomach was full of butterflies, her cheeks were hot, and that touch…
-
Atavia looked to the ground and at her hands, but she than looked up at Paige. The red headed girl blushed as she looked at Paige. She was surprised that somebody actually was talking to her, it was not often. She continued to blush, she than looked down her bangs falling over her face.
-
"Are you okay?" Paige asked, "You look really red, are…are you having a stroke? My camp counselor last year had a stroke…"
-
"I'm fine." Atavia said blushing softly. "No I am not having a stroke." Atavia said as she flushed with embarrassment. She felt stupid, she didn't really know why she was blushing in the first place, and now she was caught. It was so embarrassing.
-
Paige gave a small laugh, "Sorry. I guess i look pretty red too though, huh? It's seriously hot out here."
-
Atavia blushed softly and smiled. "Yeah, it is really hot out here." She said, with a small smile. That must be it, it must just be the heat, well at least she hoped it was, since she had no other explanation for it.
-
"So are you going to prom?" Paige asked, changing the subject.
-
"I am not sure, really. I am not really a big fan of parties, especially big ones." Atavia said with a shrug, she would get bored easily, since there is nothing for her to do at prom. It is not like she was going to get a date, nor does she really have any friends. Though it didn't really bother her to much, she was used to it.
-
"Oh. Well…why don't you like parties? I mean, even if you don't know anyone, it's still fun."
-
"They are usually really loud, and most of the parties I have gone to, are filled with stupid people, doing really stupid, and obnoxious things. To me they are really just annoying." Atavia said running a hand through her hair.
-
"Oh," Paige said, "My parents are always going to parties, so I've kind of got to enjoy them. my father's a business man, so we have lots of fancy dinners at our place when he tries to impress a new client," she said, "At least at these kind of parties there are people my own age."
-
Atavia nodded her head softly at what she said. "I am not used to going to many parties, but the ones I have went to weren't enjoyable." She said softly, well maybe it was due to the fact everyone she went to, something seemed happen badly for her. She ran a hand through her hair, as she looked around, but her eyes landing back on Paige.
-
"My parents are having this huge party this weekend. Apparently, my father signed a deal with some elderly retirement insurance company, so there'll be lots of old people. You should come! That way I won't be stuck surrounded by old people and my ten year old brother Jake, and I'll have a friend!" Paige suggested.
-
Atavia eyes widen slightly in surprise, she would never have believed that the most popular girl in school, would ever invite her over to her house, well actually anyone really, since she really didn't get along with many people. Atavia made her eyes return to normal. A smile let up the red headed girls face. "I'd love to." She said with a smile. She was still shocked that she was invited though, her father would be quite happy, though there was still the other one to talk too about it. Though lets not get into all that detail at the moment.
