  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px][justify][font=arial]Katherine was still at a loss when it came to the things about her new home. Their religion was weird, their ranks foreign, and she didn't feel like she fit in very well. All of her Clanmates, so far, had been felines and as far as Kat was concerned, she was the only canine that dwelled in RiverClan at the moment.

A stroll to get away from her feline friends had taken up the wolf's morning, and now with two squirrels dangling from her jaws, she began to make her way through the forest to return to camp with her quarrel. She hoped that she could prove herself to her Clanmates and become as great a warrior as they wanted her to be... well, if you could even call her that. Katherine had no idea how to fight yet.

; Oh, Rainy deleted her post, okay :3

The ebony canine basically thought almost the same thing. He only knew of three canines in the clan. There was himself, Silver Belle, and before she died, Morningcoffee. Now he only knew of two, him and Belle. When he first became a canine, he never quite enjoyed it, but now, he actually didn't want to go back to the familiar female tortoiseshell body he always loved being in. No, he loved being himself. He loved being Sam.

He trotted through camp, going past the entrance and into the forest. The fresh scent of prey lingered in the crisp newleaf air, while the sunshine pushed its way through the branches and leaves of the trees. He didn't notice the other canine out and about until he swerved around a tree and practically crashed into Katherine.

About being ran into wasn't going to be fun, especially if by a creature as big (or in this case bigger than, considering that Kat was small) as you were. Yelping with alarm, and to alert the other canine that she was there, Katherine jumped up, kicking up a storm of dust as she stepped out of the way. The squirrels that had been in her mouth now laid limp in the grass around the two canines. The black wolf smiled sheepishly at Sam but couldn't help but feel a bit cross that he'd made her drop her prey.

She nimbly picked it up again and sat it at her paws. "Uh...sorry," she mumbled, gazing at the squirrels in a shy way so that she didn't have to look up at the other canine, and also so that she did not give away the fact that she was slightly angry that the careless RiverClanner had almost made her fall. "I've never seen another canine in RiverClan before," she commented after a moment.

His undercoat turned a light shade of scarlet as he took a step back. "Oh, um, I'm so sorry. I didn't know someone was just around the corner," he muttered shyly. Sam finally rose his gaze, tilting his head after a brief moment. "I thought Belle and I were the only canines, so I guess we were both wrong about the amount of canines in the clan." He felt bad for knocking himself into Katherine, but he was glad that there were more dogs in the clan.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px][justify][font=arial]Who's Belle? Katherine wondered, but shook it off. Obviously, she knew enough. Belle was a Clanmate of hers that was a canine, too.

The wolf smiled again at Samuel, a sheepish grin like before. She wasn't exactly the kind of character who enjoyed company. She was kind of a loner, hung around herself more than others, so she really had no idea how to treat Samuel. "Th-That's okay. I didn't really know you were there either, o-or I would have, um, moved sooner." The small smile came again, unsure and wary. "I'm Katherine, but everyone calls me Kat," she woofed.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify][size=8]
He smiled. "Um, well, hello. My name's Sam, and I'm actually glad I bumped into you. Now I know there is another canine in the clan," he barked, then looked down towards the squirrel. "Oh, sorry, let me help you." The ebony wolf-dog grabbed one of the fluffy creatures in his jaws, lifting it up and placing it onto his back. "I can help you bring them back to camp if you'd like."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px][justify][font=arial]"I guess that's reassuring," Katherine replied and chuckled nervously. "It's nice to meet you Sam. Glad to see I'm not the only canine around here, either." The wolf watched in silence as Samuel picked up one of her squirrels and threw it across his back.

A smile of gratefulness crept along her maw. "Thank you," she said and picked up the other one in a similar fashion. With that, she began to walk.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify][size=8]
He followed, then finally opened his muzzle to break the silence. "So, tell me about yourself. I'd like to at least be friends with all huge canines in the clan."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px; width: 450px][justify][font=arial]Katherine paused, but for only a moment, before picking up speed again. She glanced over at Samuel and shrugged her shoulders. "There's not much to tell, really. I'm still trying to discover stuff about myself. I come from a small pack of wolves that live just off of the territory, but I wanted to join a Clan, and so here I am."

She thought a moment, long and hard, brow crinkling up slightly. "I'm kind of antisocial, if you hadn't gotten that one already. Shy and all that stuff. Not very excitable, but I do like helping out a lot. And I like squirrels. Heh. What about you?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0][justify][size=8]
"Well, to be completely honest, I wasn't always a canine. I have a power called multiple possessions, so I can switch bodies, and my birth body was actually a female cat. Now, I'm just a male dog. The good part about being in this body is that being a combatant is much easier," he barked. "And I'm not super social or antisocial. I'm probably right in between the two, though making friends is sometimes difficult."
