    Holla.

    I need to rant.

Everyone who knows me knows that I'm super academics-based. Good grades are like drugs and my report card is like a love confession from the world's cutest boy.

    WELL,

I signed up for the hardest classes next year.

(( I want to be a biologist when I grow up, keep that in mind. ))

    AND,

Scheduling left me with Psych in stead of Environmental Science, Algebra II in stead of Bio II, Bio II in stead of AP English, and TWO blow-off classes that I DO NOT NEED (Computers [because I obviously need an intro to Microsoft word and coding, riiight? Ha, no.] and Crit Perspective [Movies all day? Did somebody say, "study hall?"]).

The only way I could take Bio II next year (Which I HAVE to take then) is if I dropped AP English.

    AP ENGLISH.

    That's college-level stuff.

    SO,

    yeah,

    I'm a little PO'd.

(Dear Class-Schedule-Dude, if you roleplay talking cats on the internet and happen to see this, I HATE YOU.)

Because if it is and you haven't ended your current year then you should be able to change your schedule with little to no hassle.

From my experience, it takes a lot of pushing and fighting with counselors to get a schedule change, but if you're persistent and you're on track to graduate you should be able to accomplish your goal. I can definitely understand your dilemma with one class being in the way of taking another, but if biology is absolutely what you have your heart set on and there is no way in hell anything is going to cahnge yuor mind, I suggest taking as many science classes as you can.

But as someone who's taken AP English Lang & Comp, I can definitely say it was the most helpful class I've taken so far (I'm a junior). You figure out your writing style in that class and refine your skills so you're prepared for college essays, or application essays for that matter.

Spend your last weeks(s) of school talking with your counselor about dropping classes you don't want and adding the ones you do want, and when you get your schedule for next year spend even more time fighting for your desired classes if you didn't get them.

I know how frustrating sorting out your schedule can be, but do what you feel will benefit you the most and fight for that and it should all turn out fine. Good luck! c:[/fancypost]

    Yep. It's complicated.

Unfortunately, I can't change it from where it's at right now unless I take Alg II over the summer (which I was seriously planning to do, anyways [This scenario is worst-case, but still aggravating]).

My least-favorite part is that I'm not even being moved to Honors English (Amer. Lit.), but General.

I was actually really excited for next year (I'm a sophomore now); she, like, pulled me aside and was all, "You're planning on taking Advanced Placement, right? Because you're going to."

It's all just hazy, because I go to such a small school. There are only two Bio II classes during the day, and that's the thing messing with my perfectly-picked classes.

(Also, sorry if I sound totally not-pro here, but I'm seriously steaming over my counselor's reluctance to meet with me and constant "buddy, buddy" comments.

    "You're killin' me, kid!"

"I can tell you get worried easily; just relax."

    Guh, sooo stereotypical. )
