The dull ache at her side had been pestering her all day. It wasn't constricting, but it wasn't particularly comfortable either. She winced when it lashed a little bit as she ran through the forest, patrolling for outsiders. One could never be too careful these days.
Scouting along the edge of the territory, the pain in her abdomen was sending danger signs. She was in her tigress body and couldn't remember damaging it by any chance. But then she realised. Slipping out of her tigress body easily with trained mentality, her soul seeped into the cheetah body in which was lying peacefully near a bed of small, blue and white wild roses. The ache immediately roared out with fiery as she entered the body fully. Waking the cheetah body up a little, Reyna prepared for the arrival of her cubs.
She had a feeling that there weren't many. Lucky, though, because she wouldn't like forty children at one go. She wouldn't even make it out alive. Chewing on the borage, she waited the arrival of the first cub.
She was a beauty. Of course, small at birth, but incredibly elegant and also ready for great things. Her eyes had not opened yet, but she was sure they'd be windows of life. Curling her marked tail around the little cheetah cub as she licked her, the name slipped into her mind. "Origamiswans." A dainty name for a strong girl.
The next cub convulsed through her, and he was out without any trouble or pain. He was as little as his sister, but Reyna could already feel knowledge radiating off the little youngster. Intelligence would come easily to this one. As the mother gently groomed the little male, she thought of the perfect name. "Samuel." A name that holds great power and intellectuality.
