Jewel, a human by day and a wolf by night, has a future already laid out to her. She can't tell a single soul about her being as a werewolf. Then, she meets a blue-eyed-blonde-haired boy named David. It is love at first sight. Jewel knows that someday she will have to tell him......
I climb into bed, excited for the long night ahead.
"Good night Jewel," my mother whispers.
I groan in reply and watch as she shuts the door, and I ready myself for the transformation. I quietly yelp in pain as my bones shift. Bend. Transform.
My tan skin gives way to thick, coarse black fur. I grow a shaggy tail. My hands shape into paws and my nails narrow and sharpen. Bright emerald eyes are the only things that stay with my new body.
The transformation is complete.
I am now a wolf.
I slip out of a window and sprint for the woods. Some of my pack members are visible in the dark thicket of brush and trees. When I catch up, we dart of into the trees, a moving blob of moonlit fur.
We wolves are one, and forever wild.
The pack slows down as we scent our meal; a deer. We silently creep through the forest, our eyes the only things that have caught the eerie light. My gaze narrows as I spot it, its dark brown pelt almost black in the dark woods.
With a signaling flick of a tail, we bolt toward the deer. It gave a grunt of surprise and full on sprinted, desperate to save its own life.
But it's too late, we're faster.
Wolves pile onto the poor deer, clawing and biting and ripping with all their might. The wieght of the wolves on top of the deer was too much, and it collapses to the ground with a thud. The deer exhales one last breath, and then its dead. Only the bloody, ragged body remains.

I had only stopped eating when I saw it; the milky pink sky of dawn. It was time to leave, time to shift back. I could already feel my bones aching and bending, ready to change. I bolted back to the house, scrunched through the window, and sprawled onto the floor.
I made it.
After I transformed, I hoped into bed, and pretended to be sleeping as my mother walked into the room.
That was a close call. I must be back earlier next time! Keeping her werewolf genes a secret was going to be hard.
