[fancypost bgcolor=#000000;borderwidth=20px; overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 150px]ic; Alex sighed, rolling her eyes. "I don't understand what you're doing tailing someone like me, when God knows you could be out fucking Cindy Malone six ways till Tuesday, but whatever... I suppose a stalker's... nice." she raised her eyebrow again, shaking her head. "Bye." with a wave and the sway of her hip, she was gone, started toward the doors.

  • David stared after her, mouth paused half-chew and blood still rushing to his cheeks. "Well. Uhm, okay." He said, partly to himself as the girl walked away without so much as a glance sideways.

[fancypost bgcolor=#000000;borderwidth=20px; overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 150px]ic; The rest of the day blew by, much to her dismay, and before she knew it, she had left the school, jean jacket on and messenger bag slung across her neck. As someone who lived alone, she had to work to pay for basic necessities and wants. Most of her money she made by her online jobs, taking surveys, selling poetry or artwork, but when that didn't make enough, she worked as a barista at a coffee shop. Now, she went there, changing into her uniform and going behind the counter to order the next person's overly priced coffee drink.

  • David, openly joyful for the end of the school day, practically leaped out of the front door, rushing awkwardly to his car. After school, he usually went home and relaxed, or maybe had brought a girl with him, but when he was alone, he sometimes went to a coffee shop located just down the street from his parents' house. He did this now, needing time to seriously have a thought about, well, life in general without the general hustle and bustle of his overly-happy parents and little sisters. Yes, he loved them, but sometimes they could just be so annoying.. He sighed gratefully as he opened the door to the coffee shop, stepping inside and breathing in the rich aroma of java.

[fancypost bgcolor=#000000;borderwidth=20px; overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 150px]ic; Alex sighed, rubbing her temples. "Miss, it's impossible for me to get you a extra whip cream shot without adding calories." The woman rolled her eyes, muttering and leaving. Alex took a sip of her coffee and lime, setting down the cup and looking up at the boy, her eyebrow arched. "You know, you're really bad at this whole stalking thing..." she murmured, and for the faintest a moment, a smile was there, but it was gone in a wink.

  • David looked up at the barista, as he was next in line. "What.. oh my god. I didn't even know you worked here.." His eyes grew wide, even more embarrassed now that this wasn't on purpose. "But I guess I'll have a large coffee, if you don't mind."

"Course you didn't. 2.32, love." she left the register, going to the side of the little booth and filling a large cup, the steaming brew sealed off by a black cap. She handed him the cup and waited for his money. "Any cream or sugar?"

  • "Nah." David answered, pulling out his wallet and paying the girl. "Thanks." He took the cup and smirked, walking to the nearest single table by the window and sitting down.

[fancypost bgcolor=#000000;borderwidth=20px; overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 150px]ic; Alex nodded, a woman walking in moments later and jumping behind the counter, at which point Alex jumped over the counter and pulled on her jacket, ordering a coffee and lime for the road before walking outside. She only worked an hour each day, but it was 9.38 an hour, so it brought in extra money that was well received.

  • David watched the exchange with surprise. Sure, he came here a lot for coffee, but he'd never seen employees change shifts before. Well, you learn something new every day. His gaze fixated on Alex as she exited the shop, and as he did this, he took a sip of his coffee.

[fancypost bgcolor=#000000;borderwidth=20px; overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 150px]ic; A hard rain fell soon after Alex had walked outside, and she took off her jacket, wrapping it around her waist and laughing, as she loved the rain greatly. Slowly, she started down the road, no general destination in mind but knowing she'd end up at home somehow, as she always seemed to.

  • David watched sourly as rain plopped onto the ground, sighing and emptying his cup before throwing it in the trash and leaving the shop. He wasn't interested in thinking today, he just wanted to do. But, do what was the question in mind. He let his thoughts wandered as he padded slowly down the sidewalk, admiring the scenery. Today he had just been.. out of it.

[fancypost bgcolor=#000000;borderwidth=20px; overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 150px]ic; Alex hummed under her breath, the notes to a song she was making up as she went. Once she got to the apartments, she simply got Erica and started away from the apartments, the St. Bernard trailing along happily. Both of them were soaked, dripping in rain, but neither of them cared, as they both walked happily down the sidewalk.

  • David looked up, rain dripping from his soaked hair and into his eyes. He was rather indifferent about rain, if not slightly fond of it. Walking along, he let the water run down his face, little droplets of water gathering in his eyelashes and trailing down his cheeks as he blinked them out.

[fancypost bgcolor=#000000;borderwidth=20px; overflow: auto; width: 200px; height: 150px]ic; Soon enough, Alex was standing in front of him, damp hair sticking to her damp face. She laughed, losing herself as she often did in the rain. In the moments she was in the rain, she thought was beautiful, what with the way the beads of water sat on her lashes, the way she smiled. The rain washed away the hard shell.
"You lost?" she asked, smiling. "I don't have a car but I can give you a ride."

  • David frowned, awkwardly taking his hand away and sticking it in a pocket. Then, the corner of his mouth twitched, turning into a small smirk. "Okay." He whispered, almost silently as he turned and headed the opposite direction of Alex.
