He was worrying her, but she gave a tiny nod, leaning forward to take a bite out of the hare. Her mind was preoccupied though and she couldn't concentrate on the food. Besides, the sooner they finished it, the sooner he'd have to explain all of this to her and she'd find out what was going on exactly. So she took a few more bites in quick succession, willing him to finish it off and just tell her already. 'The suspense was killing her' was a really cliché phrase but she finally understood it in full.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]crowtalon didn't take a bite of the food. he'd lost his appetite. he just stared blankly at kim ate, his thoughts whizzing around inside his head as he attempted to find out what was wrong with mosaicsun. possession seemed the most likely option. maybe if he used his multiple possessions, he could push the invading spirit out of her body, like the reverse of what rabbitscrossing had done while he was dying. but the power never worked when he wanted it to. what was he going to do? agh, he was so frustrated!

  •
Dammit, why wasn't he eating? He was the one that had suggested lunch. She wasn't even very hungry and now she was having to eat the whole thing. Finally finishing it off, she sat back up and looked him right in the eyes, mewing firmly, "Now tell me what's going on." How funny that both sides knew something was wrong but not what. She thought Crow must've hit his head too hard and forgotten her, and he thought that she'd been possessed. If only that was the truth - at least then it could have been expelled, even if they had to go back to BlizzardClan for someone experienced with multiple possessions.

She might be expressing some care for what was going on with him, but do not be mistaken. Kim is not a likeable cat. At least not when you got to know her, she wasn't. At a glance, she was friendly and carefree, a prime example of someone that was happy with their life and didn't care about what others thought of them. But upon closer inspection, it could be found that she was self-centred and fairly cruel, liking to mess with others just for the heck of it. If you consider those things as good qualities in a cat, you need to get yourself checked out.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]when kim's eyes met crowtalon's, he averted his gaze nervously. she looked exactly like mosaicsun, but those weren't her eyes. they were the same beautiful shade of tiffany-blue, but they weren't hers. they were completely different. "nothing. i just . . . hit my head," he responded, making his tone calm as he fixed his gaze on the grass instead of on kim. "i'm fine."

  •
She stared defiantly at him for a moment, unsure that he was telling the truth, before finally dropping it. Cheery light easily glittering in her tiffany optics, she got to her paws, moving them up and done as she searched for something to do to occupy herself.

He was right there. Her eyes were tiffany blue and they looked like Mosaicsun's, but there were plenty of differences to be spotted. The light in Mosaicsun's eyes had been cautious but friendly, showing her curiosity and her longing to end the suffering of others. Kim's eyes shone with mischievousness and displayed everything. She was an open book. They weren't so much depths as images. Mosaicsun had layers upon layers to her eyes, many of them locked off, afraid to let others see. It was rare that her gaze showed the entirety of what she felt, and when it did you had to look carefully to see. Kim's eyes were like a picture, showing everything with nothing left as a secret. And her selfishness was obvious pretty soon after talking to her, her egotistical natures evident.

Finally thinking of something, she forgot about the whole hitting-his-head thing. Rather than asking if he was okay, she mewed in a sickly sweet tone, "Wanna go running?"

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]crowtalon waited through the silence, feeling his heart pulse in his chest. those eyes, those terrible, terrible eyes . . . they weren't like mosaicsun's at all. how could they be so alike, yet so different? her voice was the same, too, but the words and tones were ones that she would never use. "sure," he answered, keeping his cool on the outside as he basically had a meltdown on the inside.

  •
She recognised his slight discomfort but honestly didn't care enough to ask any more questions or to check whether or not he was okay. Instead, she gestured for him to follow and started off at a light trot, waiting up for him like Mosaicsun always would do. At least that part had stayed with her, hmm? Very few things had, but there were a few. The love of running and not wanting to be hurt were the most prominent, though the latter was dealt with in a very different way with Kim than with Mosaicsun. Instead of being cautious and only allowing a few close to her, Kim didn't form attachments and forgot others easily, not letting herself care about them. It came naturally.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]crowtalon jogged after her, keeping his gaze from wandering to the silver tabby. he couldn't look at her now without feeling his stomach churn. mosaicsun, but not mosaicsun. he hated thinking of her like that, but it was true. forcing himself to breathe evenly, the jaguar kept up his pace.

  •
Any other cat and it would've hurt them to think that they were only know for looking like someone else and not even by their name. But with Kim, it was both the reality of the situation and the way she simply didn't care what others thought, and less so what they thought of her. So she just kept running, not worried about it. Mosaicsun didn't exist. She existed. And that was all that mattered, right? She'd won and she got her existence. She got the chance at living a life while Mosaicsun lost hers.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]crowtalon ended running alongside kim as he increased speed, keeping his gaze trained ahead. he was sure that if he so much as glanced at the femme, he would falter, trip, and make a fool of himself in front of her. his face burned with shame just thinking about. keeping his focus on the trees in the distance that were coming closer each second, the tom said nothing.

  •
After a while of silent running, she glanced to her side to see him and chewed her lip as she searched for a conversation point. She usually didn't have too much trouble, but there was a slight air of awkwardness between them that was complicating things. Deciding she might as well fill her head with useless knowledge that she could forget later, she mewed, "So... what's your favourite colour?"

    //headcanon: it's tiffany blue

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]tiffany-blue. the answer was tiffany-blue. in front of mosaicsun, crowtalon would have simply said "blue" for the sake of secrecy. she would think he was creepy and weird or trying to flirt with her, wouldn't she? in front of kim, he was going to give the same answer--not because of the flirting thing, because even she could probably tell that he wasn't going to flirt after what she'd tried just minutes before, but because tiffany-blue was the same color as her eyes and he hated her eyes. hated the way they were so different from mosaicsun's.

    "blue," he replied softly.

  •
His soft reply warranted a simple nod. She didn't think much of it since it wasn't particularly specific. Many cats didn't have a specific shade as their favourite colour anyway, so it wasn't weird to her that he'd given a simple primary colour. Supposing she ought to tell him her favourite colour in return, she thought for a moment. Now, what was her favourite colour? Though she didn't know it herself, Mosaicsun's favourite colour had been white. Like the snow and the stars and, well, Libby's fur actually. White was all colours together, all at once. What was Kim's favourite? Her favourite was the absence of colour. "Mine is black."

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]actually, black was all colors together and white was the absence of color. get your shit together, yin. but crowtalon had no idea about that, so he simply gave a nod to the femme. black, like his fur. wait, did that mean that librarynaps didn't like him because of his fur color? rude. again, crow was totally unaware of that sudden break of character, so he just kept walking alongside the femme, completely silent.

  •
//"Black doesn't reflect light, and white reflects all colors." -- [link] & my freaking science teacher dammit x3 if i'm wrong then england is wrong okay it's not my fault

She had to keep this conversation going or it was going to get awkward again, and fast. Chewing her lip, she then asked, "Favourite animal?" She was talking about not-eating this time around - maybe she'd ask favourite food later or something, but right now she meant like... one he'd have as a pet or something if he chose to have a pet. Ugh, this was hard. She didn't like it. It wasn't like she'd even remember this information later. For all she knew, he'd already told her or something.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]ooc. then england is wrong, because black is all colors/absorbs all colors while white is the absence of color/reflects light xD my art teacher has a phd and has published a book, don't argue with her lmfao

ic. seaglass meant to put "mosaicsun" in her other post instead of "librarynaps". frick, why was she such a goddamn idiot? once again, crowtalon was unaware of the sudden fourth wall break and answered, "any wild cat." wild cats were pretty interesting, actually; the fact that there were so many different species was super cool to him. he stole a glance at the silver tabby, absently wondering what her answer would be.

  •
//exactly - white reflects all colours into the eye while black absorbs them all so none are seen by our eyes - white is seeing all colours but absorbing none ... i think we were both right in different ways omfg xD

If he'd been hoping she would tell him that she loved squirrels, then he wasn't going to be best pleased by her response. Giving a little shrug, she answered, "Maybe a rat or something? They're pretty cool." She didn't really have a definite favourite, but to her rats were pretty badass. Yin was finding it hard to do Kimness now that she was back to Maisieness and so her reply was awful. Yay.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]//omg xD

crowtalon gave a simple nod to the femme before turning back ahead, keeping his yellow gaze trained on the trees that were slowly getting closer as they advanced through the loner lands. rats. he didn't like rats. once, the viridianclan castle had been infested with them--you literally couldn't see the floor because the rats covered up everything. it hadn't been very easy, getting the rats to go away, but at least they'd done it.

  •
//shall we end this thread now, since it's old and low muse? :3

Rats just seemed cool to her; it wasn't like she had a reason to hate them or a history with them to remember. Heck, she didn't even have a history, though she didn't know that.

  • [fancypost borderwidth=0px;]ooc. sure x3

ic. and so crowtalon and kim ran around the loner lands, asking each other questions for a while before kim probably got bored and left to go be her asshole-ish self, letting crow fret over what the heck had happened to mosaicsun. she probably flirted with him later, too, which seaglass found very funny.
