Last names...?

    I don't completely understand last names in the Clans. I've seen things like "This cat is in the ____ family" or "Kits may/will carry the last name ____" I sort of get it, they have a last name after their warrior name (e.g. Smokecloud Ray, I know sucky name but you get the point. He would be apart of the "Ray" family I guess, SORRY IF THIS EXISTS I'M NOT TRYING TO COPY YOU OR ANYTHING). Or am I completely off? Is there a limited amount of families allowed, are they like assigned or something? Is it just certain Clans that have families/cats with last names? How do you make a family (if you even can)?

    it's just an added name, they can carry relations through the family so joining a family may be a good way to start with relations for a g1. some of them are clan-exclusive, but not all of them. you can make a family if you want to, just start a thread asking for members of the ________ family. c:
