  • "U-um, Piper, sh-shouldn't we l-leave him to r-rest?" Tomo suggested, taking a tentative step away from her. He wasn't very fond of girls, especially Rosanna and Piper.

  • "He does not appear to be on the verge of unconsciousness, so why not?" Rosanna interrupted, her eyes narrowing just the slightest bit.

  • "Uh- I don't know." Kevin admitted. He worked his way out of his bed and to the open door of the infirmary, although every step felt like knives.

  • Piper's eyes narrowed slightly; as a daughter of the god of deception, she could detect lies. It was hard to tell with this one, it was close. Was that light in his eyes sincerity or guilt? "Where are you off to so quickly?" She said with perhaps a touch of amusement? Piper let her casual steps carry her in slow glides until she leaned against the frame of the door, halfway blocking the exit.

  • Metina sighed, this was getting ridiculous enough. The daughter of the minor god watched as the two left the infirmary. She looked over at Tomo, then back at where the newcomer exited.

  • "There's this thing called fresh air that I need." Kevin replied, a hint of rudeness in his voice. Stepping outside, he was faced with a pegasus. Upon sight of him, the pegasus reared , and he galloped off the porch to a dirt trail. The floorboards creaked under the pegasi's weight. Upon reaching the trail, the pegasus pawed at the earth.

  • Piper resisted the urge to trip him as a the new comer barged past her. Instead she tightened her jaw and straitened her cropped jean jacket in a smooth movement. Her silver dagger pressed at her hip temptingly, and momentarily she played with the thought of throwing it into the pillar next to Kevin. The devious mind-set was quickly removed as her hard eyes drank in the scene of the galloping Pegasus. Though she rarely rode, she knew that that particular creature had an easy going personality. Piper let her gaze heavily settle on Kevin, he was one to be watched.

  • Tomo skittered up behind Piper and Kevin, hearing the Pegasus. He twitched back some by the sudden rearing of the animal but it seemed as if it had not intention of hurting anybody.

  • Rosanna watched warily, sidling up behind Piper and Tomo. Pegasi didn't like her, and she didn't like them. Careful! A voice screamed. Watch him. Another advised. She'd take the second one's advice. Yes, Kevin might pose a threat, Rosanna decided.

  • "What is your problem?" Kevin asked Piper. "... And that was a winged horse, wasn't it?"

  • "A Pegasus." Piper corrected him, blowing a stray strand of her dark hair out of her eyes. She let her eyes follow the hoof prints of the startled beast until they were nothing but dots on the shady trail. "And I would mind where you get your 'fresh air', outside the borders of camp are not secure." Piper looked over at him with disdain, "As you have probably figured out yourself by now."

  • "Yes. Hellhounds, Furies, dracaena." Rosanna said, with false cheer. "And every. Single. One."she said, "Could kill you." She finished grimly. Scary. muttered a voice. Shut up. she shot back.

  • Piper let the newcomer play with those ideas before speaking again. "Besides, Cheron will be wanting to see you soon. Running away would not only be stupid, but deadly. Even though Thalia's tree keeps the beasts out, that doesn't prevent then from knowing where we are."

  • "Meaning that plenty like to hang out along the border, hiding and waiting for one thing. Food, aka You." Rosanna continued, nonchalantly brushing back a few strands of her dark hair.
