With a final glance at the clear, sparkling water that had captivated her limbs and caused them to relax, Briarheart forced herself to slip out of the clutches of the river. It was surprisingly calm since it was usually a fast moving body of water that not many cats swam in due to the lack of swimming ability. Placing her paws on the grassy bank of the river, she felt them sink slightly on the damp, muddy ground. Pulling her body fully out of the water she took the time to shake out her soaked fur in an attempt to dry it. The scent of her brother drifted to her nose and soothed her, knowing that he was still with her. She had lost so many cats to last a lifetime. Her mother being the most important one. Fawnleaf's death was still fresh in Briarheart's mind and she had yet to be put at ease. Lifting her eyes just in time to spot the flaming orange pelt of her brother emerge from the part bramble bushes made the she-cat smile contently. Giving her silky pelt one last shake, she started towards her brother to meet him halfway. Her pelt was still heavily damp with water but a good grooming session and a long bask in the sun should dry it up in no time.
