I was spread out on a couch in the flat that I share with John. I was unfathomably bored. Lestrade hasn't given me a case in weeks, and hell, even Mycroft was silent. John was somewhere, probably shopping, and Mrs. Hudson was downstairs doing heaven knows what. After spending the last 20 minutes searching for my gun, I gave up, for it was a lost cause. I sighed. There was a girl outside, a ginger, but she had no significance to me, for she was probably ordinary, and that was boring. I grabbed my violin and started tuning it, with a lack of energy.

My ears perked up, as I heard someone knocking. "Thank god, I though my mind would waste away any second now." I thought it was someone with a case, so I put on my professional face, and opened the door. "Do you have a case for me?" I asked rather harshly, for I was dying for that middle aged man to say yes.

I rolled my eyes slightly, but didn't take the girls hand. "If you must. I have nothing better to do, as you already know." I climbed back up the stairs. I knew that those two were related, but it seemed a bit too strange that her father was so much older than her. I knew that they were hiding something, as well, but I needed time to find out what. It seemed too obtuse to know right away, for it seemed to have multiple layers like a Rube Goldberg machine.
