Lyla stirred as the sun set, stretching out slowly and smiled as she felt the nuzzle on her nose as her eye opened groggily. Now that she was awake, there was no way she was going back to sleep, although Kovu's warmth was tempting. Lyla shifted her weight and pulled away from Kovu, careful not to wake him as she made her way out of the den.

Kovu let out a small whimper as he shuddered in his sleep, one of his paws waving around in search of Lyla before he awoke. Where had Lyla gone? He whined as he slowly left the den as well, seeing her not too far off before he quickly chased after, catching up in a few bounds and planting himself by her side
-
Lyla had been heading to go on a walk to stretch her legs before joining a patrol, ears pricking as she heard hurried pawsteps and slowly wagged her tail as she saw Kovu sticking by her side.
-
Kovu stuck next to Lyla as the two ended up joining a nightly patrol, seeing that the sun had finally disappeared over the endless trees of the forest, turning his head east to see the moon begin to loom over the talk mountains far off.
Back to the patrolling; this was all new to Kovu as he had never joined a patrol before. He was mainly off hunting or napping; but this was something completely different. But he remained by his lover's side the entire time as she knew what she was doing, trying hard not to be a nuisance as he looked around with sharp eyes
-
Lyla's ears flickered as she peered around but seemed at ease, when she was really on high alert. She had a feeling Kovu had never been on a proper patrol, keeping him close as they loped along. She enjoyed the night air as the moon rose, her fur shimmering softly and beautifully in the moonlight. She paused a moment to check the markers before moving on, checking for the familiar scent of the black wolves.
-
Kovu kept his nose pointed out to detect any sign of unknown life that could be lingering around nearby, only finding a rabbit and quickly killing it for the two of them to eat later. But the night continued on without conflict, eventually leading the two back to the main camp as the moon fell over the west, and the sun began to rise in the east.
And it was around that time did Neralki awaken, seeing that he and Sela looked like complete wrecks from the belly down, and marvelling at the mess they had made out of their prolonged breeding session. And when he attempted to move his hips, he was greeted by an intense soreness that prevented him from using his hind legs, forced to be stuck with Sela as he looked around.
-
Lyla couldn't help but let her guard down a little around Kovu, sighing inwardly and easing into a calm lope as they approached camp. She enjoyed the long night patrols, often escaping camp to do so just to get away for a bit. She glanced over at Kovu, a gentle smile on her muzzle as she pulled ahead and loped into camp, only to be called over to join a hunting patrol.
Sela stirred as Neralki moved, huffing quietly and pricking her ears, still entirely exhausted. She tried to move her hindlegs to no avail, intense, painful soreness ripping through her as she whined quietly. "I think we're going to be stuck here for a while longer.. " She said softly, her stomach starting to hurt with hunger pains.
-
Kovu continued on back to his own den with the rabbit in his jaws when he was still called over. "You too Kovu! We still have some time before Winter arrives!" With a sigh he turned back to join the same hunting patrol, once again stuck by Lyla's side before they left to go search for more prey.
Neralki let out a sheepish grin at Sela's words, feeling her belly rumble in hunger as he patted it with his paw. "Well, last night was completely worth it. And I don't have to ask to know how much you enjoyed it." he said, reaching over with his neck to give his mate a muzzle in the cheek
-
Lyla heaved a sigh quietly as Kovu joined her, glancing over at him before loping ahead to walk with the lead wolf in the patrol. She raised her head and scented the air once they were out of camp, ears flickering and tail swaying behind her.
Sela nodded with a soft smile on her muzzle, nuzzling him back gently. "Mm... It was most definitely worth it. But I'm sure Rivera is wondering where we took off to. We should get back. " Sela said, pushing herself to her paws with her hindlegs dragging behind her.
-
Neralki struggled to get up on his paws when his hind legs wouldn't cooperate with him; but he achieved standing up with some difficulty with his hind legs wobbling with each passing second. "Come on, lets wash ourselves off first before we go back. Otherwise they'll know what we've been up to since we smell the part"
-
Sela groaned softly as she got up, her paws threatening to give way. She nodded once and slipped into the warm water, sighing and relaxing as the water held her up and began to pull herself through the water and wash her rump.
-
Neralki followed Sela back into the hot spring; sighing in content as he felt the hot water wash over his fur and ease the soreness in his hips. "Ahh, a nice relaxing swim right after being intimate. We should do this more often." he said, letting himself slump over until he was neck deep in the spring.
-
"We should. It was... Intense. " Sela purred as she rested her head on the edge of the spring and paddled her back legs slowly to loosen and ease the soreness in them.
-
Neralki swan through the water towards his mate across from the little hot spring; wincing from the jolt of soreness he would get from his hind legs as he crawled through the water to his beloved. "Well, intense wouldn't be enough to describe how we were going at it." he said, slipping his head under her neck and letting her scent flood all of his senses. She still smelled of her arousal and mating; and he smelled similar too if he was honest. The giant mess of fluids still lingered close by with their musky scent, and it didn't help the male's case as he buried his nose into her fur
-
Sela found no words to answer Neralki and simply nodded, her tail wagging just a little and she shivered as he buried his nose into her neck, knowing her scent was rich with his. Her nose twitched and she easily caught his scent, mingled with hers intensely.
-
Neralki snuggled with Sela in their little hot spring for many moments, the morning sun hanging lazily in the east before he finally clambered out with his wet paws. His white fur gleamed brilliantly in the sunlight and heavily complemented his musculature while his eyes shone a bright silver in the morning sky, showing a great deal of maturity and pride as he shook the water out. "Ah, fresh and clean." he said, taking a deep breath only to clamp his nose with his paws. Right, there was still the mess from their little time alone hours ago, still smelling of mating and heat as he shuffled away with a blush. "Er, lets hope that isn't here the next time we return..."
-
Sela nearly dozed off again at the comforting touch of Neralki and the hot water surrounding her, her legs kicking lazily before she clambered out, gratefully eyeing her handsome mate before she shook herself. Her thick, dark and silvery fur stuck to her frame, much sturdier than when Neralki had first fallen asleep and not woken up. She touched his cheek, blushing wildly as she saw the mess. "I certainly hope not... But let's not worry about that right now. The Pack is probably wondering where you are. " Sela said quietly, taking a few tentative steps.
-
"Alright, lets head back before we worry anyone else back at camp." Neralki said, taking off at a leisurely trot and beckoning Sela to follow his pace as he strolled through the quiet forest. It certainly felt peaceful and drastically different to last night; that fact could be confirmed no problem. Speaking of last night...
-
Sela followed after Neralki as fast as she could, her scarred leg lagging behind more than usual as she trotted by his side and kept her guard up just in case.
-
"You're worrying me with that leg of yours... Is it fine?" Neralki asked, staring down at the scar on her leg as his trot slowed down to let her relax. "I don't want you to remain unhappy or hindered by your injuries..." he said, carefully wrapping his tail around her mangled leg and pressing his side against here's I'm a protective manner.
