The storm came in strong, rain pouring down as the wind screamed and the lightning flashed. Lightning illuminated a dark, canine figure standing in the opening of a rocky alcove, watching the storm blow by. It was Shadow, the young she wolf who had left her Pack to start her own. Her pelt was as black as the night sky, with one amber eye and one ice blue. Her ears twitched as she watched the storm rage. Spring was nearly upon the valley, hence the storm, and the prime time for finding a mate. Her body tingling warmly at the thought, the young wolf in the starting stages of heat. She would need a suitor quickly to produce pups to start her lineage.

Yay! BTW, this is my first thread as wolf...
A silvery-white figure appeared from the brutal storm,hitting it over and over again until the endless storm ceased just slightly.The feral canine lifted its weary head,until he could sense that Spring was on its very way.Pushing harder against the rages of the vicious rain,he growled with satisfaction as he noticed that he hadn't travelled here for no reason at all.
Finding the perfect mate was a necessity!There were tons of female wolves in heat or in need of a strong mate at the moment,and Cale was eager to please and defend what would be his.

She deliberately threw her head back and let her howl ring out across the valley, sweet and alluring, to see if, hopefully, another would respond. Once she finished, Shadow stood, anxiously standing at the edge of the cliff, ears strained forward to listen for a reply. Surely there would be someone down there for her!

The sound came rushing to his sensitive ears,flowing through his mind like a brook,eager to fill a lake.Closing his eyes for a moment,Cale registered the sweet howl that had captured his heart.Throwing his head back,Cale let a responding howl escape from his lips,filling the storm-filled air around him.Tilting his foward,he paused for a moment,letting his howl echo in the foggy (mountains?)

The fae bounded down the ledge, rocks tumbling out from under her paws as she practically slid the length. Prancing to a stop once she hit the ground, she lifted her head again, another howl piercing the night air. This one was long and excited, pinpointing her location for the other wolf to find her. Shadow stood rigid in excitement, waiting for the response as her tail wagged excitedly.

[font=andale mono]Obsessed with the answer,Cale's ears flicked foward in anticipation.The male wolf leaped forward,giving out another howl to let the she-wolf know he had heard.Shaking his well-muscled body,Cale darted expertly across the jagged rocks,his muzzle soaked in rain.His eyes narrowed,as they peered through the pouring rain to find the she-wolf.
His well-muscled body rippled as he bunched up his muscles to leap over a crevice-allowing him to land as gracefully as a he-wolf should.Continuing to pursue the enchanting she-wolf's echoing howl,Cale almost crashed into the she-wolf herself.Skidding to a halt,Cale paused to catch his breath.

"We should probably get out of the rain," she called to him over the sound of the roaring rain. "Follow me!" with that, she went bounding back up the ledge, easily scaling the loose rocks until she disappeared inside her cave and watched patiently, for the most part, for the male to come with her.

Cale's tail also began to wag,and relief swarmed his chest that the fae(I have no idea what that is,but I am assuming it is a she-wolf. :) ) was quite friendly.His dark orbs focused on her,and he spoke quickly,"I'm Cale."He knew he needed to impress her later,or fight for her,and he was ready.
The he-wolf blinekd excitedly at her,his tongue dropping out of his mouth.

Sensing the storm beginning to calm down,the lone male wolf rolled off the fae's back,his tongue dropping out and panting as he teasingly swiped back at her.The storm's temper meltdown seemed to him that the mating season had begun!Cale hadn't even had enough time to know his maybe-future-mate.Soon,he'd be driven crazy by his insticts to mate,and it wasn't even his own fault!
Cale sniffed the air cautiously,turning back towards the waiting female.His eyes glowed a soft light as he regarded her.I do like her a lot,so she could be my mate to protect and fight for,at the least.Maybe...The wolf's maw parted in a sweet smile,his nose touching Shadow's gently.
Ohhh!Ohh!I know for a plot thing!Maybe another he-wolf comes along(which either me or you could roleplay),and senses she's not a wolf that has had a mate yet,so he fights Cale?

Trotting to the back of the cave, the fae circled around her large patch of ferns she had made as her bed. She yipped softly, inviting Cale to lay down next to her so the two could nap until morning. Then with the elk roaming into the valley about now, she could hunt with him and judge his skills at it.

Cale gave out a low yip,his indigo eyes bright with anticipation as he circled the nest to lie down,too. Resting his chin on his paws,he let the warmth of his pelt seep to Shadow.Cale watched as the sky grew lighter with every minute,and he felt that it was a good sign."This was great.I'm Cale,by the way."The words danced playfully around.His voice sounded confident,lit dimly with the aroma of shyness.

(Big bad baddie! He's coming down the road!)
The large opaque figure was guided by the scents of two wolves,BOTH which did not mate yet.Who knew?The male wolf could possibly fight the other accompanying the young fae.The large wolf's grinning maw turned into a sneer as he thought it over.From the smell of it,he could sense that the other male was young and had just become mature for a couple of full moons.
Storm's narrowed frosty blue eyes were icy and cold,and he impressively leaped closer to the cave.
