• In the year 2093, nearly all of humanity was wiped out by the Desolation War. Our planet was rendered unlivable by the weapons of mass destruction used to end the war.

In an effort to save humanity, what was left of the world's population banded together and looked to the stars.

In the year 3001, humanity went to the stars. Few people remained on Earth as hundreds of spacecraft shot skyward, leaving the planet behind. Many of the spacecraft were later combined to form space stations for the people to live in. During exploration of our moon's orbit, two interconnected rings known as the Ark was discovered.

The Ark had presumably been a government project to create a life-sustaining, artificial ecosystem in space. Though the massive structure had begun construction before the Desolation War, the technology in it was far more advanced than anything from that time. Construction of the Ark was continued and it technology was reverse-engineered.

Twenty years later, in 3021, construction of the Ark was completed, adding two more rings to the massive structure. By the next year, the Ark's technology had created a livable environment on the rings. Many people began to talk of exploration to find a new home for humanity. Though the majority of the population remained skeptical, the New Crusade was enacted and additions were made to the Ark, giving it mobility.

Now, ten years later, the Ark has left our solar system and entered the vast emptiness of space, exploring every planet and moon along the way.

Mind if I join? This looks pretty awesome. Would you like me just to jump in, or I could create my own form, if you'd prefer.

• I'd honestly prefer it if you'd make a little form with basic info about your OC(s), but that's really up to you. I'll accept him/her/them regardless.

If you do want to do the form, please make it something loosely similar to this(completely optional):

Also, sorry for the late reply. I was abnormally inactive today.

That's alright if you're inactive. I just fell asleep for about..hm.. sixteen hours. c:

Name:
"Dr. Tarrant Rush, at your service."
Age:
"Now's not exactly the time, and I have more important things to worry about."
Gender:
"...Are you trying to be funny?"
Personality:
Rush is a genius- he is insanely intelligent, and hates it when people don't understand how to do things. He is a workaholic, and he'll even go for days without sleeping at all, just so he can finish some problem he thought of. He lies a lot, only for his own benefit, and loves to do things on his own. He's not exactly the fighter type, but he can twist words and talk his way out of a situation. He is not the friendliest person you'll meet, as he prefers to be left alone most of the time. But, he loves to find new things, all for except aliens. He doesn't have a fear of them, but he has always thought of them as unpredictable. Inside, Rush isn't a hero. Some say he's a coward, and they're half-right. He says he's doing things for 'the greater good', but you really can't tell. Just when you think he's a villain at heart, he does something to change your mind.
History:
Rush is Scottish. He lived in a small town, with his father. His mother died when he was three, and his father was a drunk and an idiot. Rush worked hard at school, and he eventually went to Oxford. He got his degree, and worked in a lab for awhile. He soon found his way into a strange top secret job, and he was sent to the U.S. He really couldn't tell anyone, and his wife had died three days before he left. Since then, he had been working with the military on some space project. What's when the war happened. Rush was immediately sent on a ship into orbit when it happened, hoping he would find some way to stop it. He was on the team when they discovered the Ark, and he had been lead scientist ever since.
Occupation:
"I am an astrophysicist, and the head scientist on the Ark... so in other words, I know every inch of this place, and how it's supposed to work."

Name:
"Aaron Blaze is the name."
Age:
"I'm twenty three."
Gender:
"So it's true, you really are blind. I'm a guy..."
Personality:
Aaron is sly, mischievous and isn't one who likes to listen to the rules. He loves to take risks, and nothing will stop him from adventure. He's arrogant, and doesn't like people trying to order him around. He prefers to do what he wants, and let himself be put in danger just for the fun of it. Even thought he may seem like a trouble-making idiot, he is pretty smart. He knows when things go too far, and he always turns out to be the luckiest person there, and somehow com out alive in every situation. He's not perfect, though, and he has the scars to prove it. Deep down, he can be the nice guy, but that is yet to be determined.
History:
He was an orphan, and only three years old when he was sent to the Ark. It was strange at first, but he had lived in space almost his entire life. He didn't know his own last name, so he had created one, based on a hero in a book he loved- Blaze. He's never seen snow, or sun, or anything from Earth he remembers, only the moon and stars.
Occupation:
"Well, my old job doesn't really matter, but now I'm one of the explorers when we find a new planet. So in other words, I'm the test hamster."

• (Legit. 8) )

Name: Jace Rand

Age: 19

Gender: Male

Personality: Jace is a leader at heart, setting the example for his team and those around him. His team is his family and his squad is his life. Nothing he does is in any way unrelated to his job. He likes the Ark but knows there is something more out there for humankind, it just needs to be found. And he intends to be the man who finds it. When it comes to combat, his orders are given seriously and he expects them to be followed just as seriously. But when things come down to daily life, he is as chill and relaxed as any other nineteen year-old on the Ark.

History: Jace was born and raised in space. He and his parents had been some of the first people to join the New Crusade. His father and two older brothers were his heroes in his childhood. They taught him how to use a gauss rifle, a railgun, and archery. They were all high-ranking officers in the Ark Exploration Force(AEF) and each had teams and squads of their own. Jace was almost old enough to enlist when his father and both older brothers were killed when a mission went terribly wrong. They had been sent on a search-and-rescue mission for a crashed shuttle on an unexplored moon. When their teams had landed, they were killed one by one by an unknown alien creature native to the desolate moon. To honor them, Jace joined the AEF as an officer and slowly climbed the ranks until he became the leader of both his own squad, and of the team it was part of. He has mastered the use of his high-powered bow, which is the most effective weapon in space and has also become a skilled laser-swordsman.

Occupation: Jace is a Captain in the AEF. Like his brothers and father before him, he explores the stars and fights to protect the Ark and yearns for the day they find a new Earth for humanity to live.

• Name: You can call her X. No one knows her real name but herself.
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Personality: X is often mistaken for shy, but that is not the case. She loves to socialize despite the trouble she has to go through to do it. She always carries a pen and paper with her, and those that don't know her don't have a clue as to why. It's how she talks to people, as somewhere along the line, she suffered an injury to her vocal chords and was unable to talk since. She passes her time by drawing and working in the weapons bay, where she sometimes gives lessons with some of the weapons, as she seems to be rather skilled with them, and got herself the title of weapons expert.
History: X was physically bullied. During one of said beatings, one of the children happened to have a knife on them and cut out her tongue. Since then, she started carrying the paper and pencil with her. She took the abuse, both verbal and physical, until she left with the Ark. She spent most of her time in the weapons bay, not wanting to feel weak any more. One of the people who worked there saw her training and asked her what she knew about each weapon, and then suggested her for the job of weapons expert. Since then, she gives lessons and researches new forms of weaponry.
Occupation: X is a weapons expert.
Appearance: X is a rather short but slim person. She has shoulder length brown hair usually kept back in a simple ponytail to keep it out of her face. She has a rather pale complexion and thin features, including her nose and lips. She has high cheek bones and large, blue-green, ice-like eyes. She is usually seen wearing a plain T-shirt, loose jeans that allow movement, boots and a bag is carried with her at all times where she keeps plenty of pens and paper.

• (Yeah, sorry 'bout the lack of a starting post.)

"That was some mission." Watt, the technician for Jace's team, sighed as the team walked out of the hangar bay.

"At least no one was seriously injured. Those... things tore Alpha squad to pieces." Craig said, as the team's medic, everyone's health was his main concern.

The two squads of eight that made up Jace's team separated, each member going to his or her own home, leaving Jace alone in the street.

He sighed and went back to base where he gave his report on the mission before heading down to the weapons bay to turn in some tech they had salvaged.

• X was where she usually resided, pen and paper sitting on the desk where she stood, glaring down at one of the many foreign objects the teams bring to her over time. She had gotten absolutely no where with it, and was getting rather frustrated with the whole thing. She had quickly exhausted most if not all tests she could run on it and was almost to the point of manually breaking the troublesome piece of equipment apart to get a glimpse at how it worked. Running a hand over her face, she remembered another team was supposed to come back soon and sighed, pushing the object to the side.

I'll start Aaron later.

"It's a piece of a console."
Dr. Rush briskly walked past X's office, barely giving a glance at the room. He was busy writing on a clipboard, scribbling down notes as he went. There were complicated equations here and there on the pristine white paper, as more black ink began to make out words in every space there was. Rush's voice sounded annoyed and busy when he walked by, his mind doing a number of things at the same time. He was always like that, well that is, only on good days. Only when he found a solution to some foreign alien puzzle did he buzz through problems with ease, faster than any computer the Ark had. But other times, when he was stuck, you never wanted to bother him with any question. His dark eyes scanned over what he had written, almost machine like, before flipping the page over, and reading over some sort of meaningless data. He had heard another team had come back, and he was going to find out what they encountered. When he turned the corner past the weapons bay, Rush just about ran into Jace. His eyes didn't move from the clipboard, as he darted to the side out of the way, in almost perfect timing. His reflexes were strangely fast, and yet, he wasn't the soldier type of person. The scientist kept on walking, as if nothing had happened.

• Jace watched Dr. Rush pass by with a hint of amusement on his face.

"Looks like the Doc is having a good day. And that means there are good days for the rest of us down the road." He smiled and entered X's office.

"Afternoon, Weaponmaster X." He said politely. "We found something you might like." He grinned as he opened a 5 foot by 4 foot hovercrate and took out one of the many strange objects within.

The first he grabbed was a black cylinder with several switches on its body. He placed the thing on X's desk and grabbed a stone-looking tablet.

"This may be useful. It's the same kind of tech the last team brought you. There's an alphabet and what looks like a kind of keyboard on it and what looks like some type of holo-emitter on the top." Jace said excitedly, giving the tablet to X.

(Yeah, so just general info like that. If you don't want to do this, then just reveal it as we progress if you want. It really doesn't matter. And please either add either a basic description of your OC's appearance or a picture of him/her.

Name: Annabelle(Annie) Jones
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Personality(Just enter a brief summary of your OC's traits): A very clever, and tough young lady. She is very hard to convince into something. She can be as tough as a stone at times. You would be surprised how much she enjoys her current job. She has other traits that you may find interesting, once you discover them.
History(Again, all this is optional. Add, or take away as many of these as you want): Her family had been left on earth, making her survive on her own. Her parents were both Marie, and Jack Jones. She had no siblings left, since they were left to die on earth. She hates the Ark, although she knows it's the only thing keeping her alive right now. She doesn't care about anyone else's survival, making her almost selfish. Although she will help someone out if it's urgent. She was pregnant with a boy on earth, just before the humans moved to the Ark, although the child hadn't survived, nor did her fiance. She has no faith in the Ark what so ever, although she enjoys killing so much, she serves as a Military officer of Department 7 of the Ark.
Occupation(If your OC has yet to have an occupation, then just enter what he/she wants to be): Military Officer of Department 7 of the Ark

• As Dr. Rush walked by, she threw her arms into the air and dropped her head to the table with a thud. Why are they giving it to me then? She grumbled in her head. She heard footsteps and jerked her head up, waving tiredly as he greeted her. As he said something about might liking it, X perked up and watched him pull items out of the bag. When he said it was the same type of tech, she groaned. None of the tests will work on this then, most likely. X picked up her pen and paper, and quickly wrote, Thanks, Jace. I'll start working on it.

• "Good luck with this stuff, X. Oh, and before I forget, there is an object in the crate with red tape on one end, be sure keep that end away from you when you're working with it. Watt nearly took his head off with it." Jace warned before waving good-bye and leaving the office to try and catch up with Dr. Rush.

ooc: Both Annabelle Jones and John Jack Griffith are accepted. I'm really liking the diversity here. This oughta be very interesting.:D

• X gave him a thumbs up before turning toward the table with a sigh. She picked up the cylinder and frowned at it. It was most likely a whole computer, but foreign technology. On closer inspection, she realized each switch had a set of small symbols, which she assumed were parts of the alphabet Jace had been talking about. She flicked on the first switch, the largest of them, and the thing seemed to hum, and grow warmer. Well, it was on, it seemed.

• (Same here, I want to make my intro interesting instead of rushed.)

John stepped out from his office, today was inspection day.
He made his way to the barracks.
Very carefully he peered at each officer.
"Mmm, yes, good. At ease, go to lunch, and then get on patrol."
With that he walked back into his office and fiddled around with a Rubix cube.
He had bought the Rubix cube three years ago. Yet he was still unable to complete it.
