Bloodclaw smiles a little and continued eating

Rustyclaw laid what tail he had left on top of her tail because it was not quite long enough to twine together anymore. He licked her ear and nuzzled her jaw and then he slightly pulled away, looked in her eyes, and then looked away shyly.

Bloodclaw licked his ear and smiled, looking at him

Rustyclaw looked back at her. "Thank you for being there for me. It means a lot to me. How can I ever thank you enough?"

Bloodclaw smiled "It's alright, you don't need to thank me" she said

"I feel like I have to. But you already have the only thing I can possibly give to you." Rustyclaw said as he looked away. He then whispered "My heart...."

Bloodclaw looked at him "I do?..."

"Yes. I've watched you from afar since i first saw you. You own my heart and I will never let anyone else have it." Rustyclaw replied looking her in the eyes.

Bloodclaw looked surprised, she stared back at him then licked his cheek

"I'm sorry. You probably don't want my heart. You probably want someone like a deputy or leaders heart instead of a soft friendly warriors with only half a tail." Rustyclaw said looking down.

"I'm more surprised you want me" Bloodclaw admited "I'm not even half clan born" she said shocked "AND my father tried to take over a whole forest! I basically have the blood of all those other cats still on my paws" she said shocked

"You never did anything. And you are just as clan born as I am. You have worked hard to be where you are. Harder than i ever had to. That makes you my clan mate just as much as any other warrior." Rustyclaw told her.

"I've still got that in my past though" Bloodclaw said looking down

Rustyclaw pushed her head up with his. "I don't care about the past. If I did I would wonder every day of my life if I should have tried to become deputy instead of just a warrior. I made the right decsion then and i'm making the right one now by telling you how I feel."

Bloodclaw looked at him and nodded "You're right"

"Well duh i'm right mouse-brain." Blazeheart replies as he gently pushes her with his shoulder.

Bloodclaw laughed and pushed him back "I know that you mouse-brain" she joked

She smiled at the two, bickering like two lovebirds. She purred quietly. When they started talking about the past, she cocked her head. It was her past that made her so aware. It's how she had protected the clan. Should she forget it all? Was Rustyclaw right? To just go with the flow and forget the past? She shook her head to clear out the thoughts.
