Shade watched her, confused for a second. His eyes changed from confusion to amusement. "T-thank you!" He managed. Shade smiled and walked back into the den, yawning.

She went out at a trotting pace, looking around and going to his scent markers and making it around the border of the territory. She was just making it back to the cave when something struck her, flinging her into a nearby tree and nearly knocking her out.

Shade heard something get hit hard to he ran out. "WHOES THERE?!" He hissed, worried that his new friend was injured. He ran around until he found her. "Are you ok..?" He asked, worried.

Her eyes closed and her breathing shallow as she lay slumped in between two roots of the tree, unconscious. But a low growl emitted into the still air from somewhere nearby.

Shade stalked over to his friend and stood over her, protectively as he growled a corrupted, serpent like growl.

The first growl feel silent, and gave way to a slow lumbering sound as a large creature began moving forward, eventually showing not one, but two foxes.

Shade growled at them, long fangs bared. He began to walk to the side as he began to try and circle them. If he could scare them, maybe they could leave. He spread his wings out and shot fire at one of the large creatures.

The two barked and jumped back, then yapped at him angrily.

Shade hissed at them, his teeth still looked heated and almost at their melting-point. His growled a growl, more like a wolf's and began to walk towards the two.

They seemed to take a step back, then circle around him back towards Darkheart.

Shade ran suddenly in front of her, and hissed a snake's hiss. His pupils became slanted and almost nonexistent.

Their backs arched and they both snarled, but eventually turned to leave, leaving him there and Darkheart still slumped on the ground still unconscious.

Shade glared at them. "AND DON'T RETURN!" He yowled. Shade turned to look at Darkheart, and licked the top of her head, even though he felt his taste-buds singe.

She moaned softly, but not exactly one to show signs of waking yet.

Shade looked worriedly at her, and tried to place the limp body on his back.

She was limp as a noodle so to say, but stiff in a way too.

Shade began to run back to his cave without haste. He looked back at her, and placed her by the ice crystals.

After a short bit she was stirring, moaning softly in pain as she tried to get her feet up and under her, but they just buckled.

Shade walked over and put his paw on her back, holding her down. "Don't move. You're too weak," was all he said.

"Wh-what happened?" She muttered, slinking back down to her side.
