Slumberingpaw slumped to the ground, growling ever so slightly. She was bored, worse, there was nothing to do. The female twitched her tail, unhappy as of now. **** It The shecat thought. "Anyone wanna like, spar?" The small shecat called out. She wasn't sure if Oakstar would approve, but she didn't really have a mentor so she needed all the battle training she could get, besides, she would keep her claws sheathed.
    [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0; overflow: auto; width: 30px; height: 400px; background:url(https://farm5.staticflickr.com…10493699_706fce7052_b.jpg); background-position: right;]
  • It was a job Oakstar had signed up for the moment she accepted duties as deputy ; she had known what the job could've entailed if she lived to see the end of their previous leader, and yet, it was days like today where the position was none too daunting and Sharpclan lived in peace within their old junkyard. Within the nursery were tiny squeaks of kits playing, toms and she-cats alike shared tongues in the warmth of the sunlight that graced them after a fierce winter and it seemed to be a day where most were eagerly taking the opportunity to take it easy.

Of course, morning hunting parties and patrols had already been assigned when the Sharpclan leader took a quiet moment to herself, sitting atop of the heap upon some sort of thick board. Bathing in the sunlight, a thick coat glowed as a muscular frame stretched and flexed, lengthy claws creating impressive marks as she felt kinks in her back pop in relief. However, even with such a lax posture, Oakstar watched her clan for any and all signs of imminent danger or mischief.. The latter of the which seeming to flare up from one of their younger apprentices.

"Still without a mentor at that.." the tabby mrowled to herself, standing to give a shake of her pelt before belting down the heap with confident leaps, eyes locked upon Slumberingpaw the entire way down. It wasn't so much that they didn't have the cats to mentor a young miss and keep her out of potential chaos ; it was simply the fact that she was indeed so arrogant that it would be difficult to train her much more than the basic steps efficiently.

"What's with all of this ruckus, Slumberingpaw?" the leader inquired sternly, making her way to the ground floor and stepping towards her clanmate, tail held high as she narrowed her eyes down at the creamy white feline, "We have had little raids even by those masked bandits today and no attacks by enemy clans for a few moons yet you insist on clawing at the ears of your fellows?"

Slumberingpaw twitched her tail. Ah, the leader of Sharpclan had graced her with their presence. "Its not like I've got anything else to do, and I was going to keep my claws sheathed." Slumberingpaw grumbled, but she wasn't about to bluntly disrespect the leader to their face, that would be stupid.
"And I wasn't forcing anyone, I just wanna friendly spar." Slumberingpaw said. No raids and battles like Oakstar had stated meant they'd gotten soft, too soft for the delicate apprentice's tastes.
    [fancypost bgcolor=transparent; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0; overflow: auto; width: 45px; height: 400px; background:url(https://farm5.staticflickr.com…10493699_706fce7052_b.jpg); background-position: right;][color=white]Even when the music's gone
  • Kits and apprentices always had ants crawling about in their pelts.. Itching for a scrap, to hunt, to be a full fledged warrior and assist the clan. Or in Slumberingpaw's case, a Courier ; a higher position than most and one that took many moons of training before they could be promoted to a cat who not only represented their clan but also their leader. A bad Courier showed a weak clan and a weak clan didn't survive in the harsh realm of feline clans.

"When you're not being a warrior, young one, you will be something far more important to our clan," Oakstar lectured, ears flicking as she began to circle around the white she-cat whom still had not grown into her body entirely, "Something that require stealth and will be a task with fur like your's."

Breathing a slight sigh, the leader took a seat in front of the apprentice and gazed downwards to the eager kitten's face. There was only one full fledged Courier, a miss Blackwing, however she was barely within reach of only two years and to place such a young cat with an apprentice could result in one of two ways ; beautifully or horrifically, the cat in question being too young to handle the responsibility or displaying great skills when met with success.

It could be a gamble worth taking.. "I'll work on finding you a mentor, Slumberpaw, I promise you. In the mean time, why not try softly sneaking up upon your fellow apprentices? See who you can pounce on and report back to be," A gentle purr slipped out and a certain light of amusement flashed in her jade green eyes, "Consider it your first mission."

Slumberingpaw stopped her tail from twitching at Oakstar's words.
When you're not being a warrior young one, you will be something far more important to our clan
Something that will require stealth and fur like your's
At those words Slumberingpaw got slightly exited. Did this mean she had some sort of mission for her? Something that didn't involve doing stupid Tumbleweed things?
I'll work on finding you a mentor, Slumberingpaw...
    That sounded nice
...In the mean time, why not try sneaking up softly on your fellow apprentices?
    And Oakstar lost her.

Great, I get to do kit things. Slumberingpaw thought to herself, but held her tongue. "Ok." She said quietly, because any louder would include a hint of resent.

[fancypost bgcolor=indigo; bordercolor=transparent; borderwidth=0; overflow: auto; width: 175px; height: 271px;][font=new times roman][color=white]Since their earlier spat, Brokenpaw had been avoiding Slumberingpaw. But Jabberjay, the ridiculously friendly blue jay saw no reason to ignore an apprentice just because she'd wanted to be alone, and when that failed, snapped at another apprentice. It was just stupid to him. He landed near the leader, whom he'd managed to befriend. JJ was incredibly loyal, and would do just about anything to prove it. But he didn't think he'd be promoted. He in his main (and thus far only) bird body wouldn't be much use moving things, and he thought it was a little late to become a Courier. But it was his dedication to the Clan, regardless of his rank, that he thought earned Oakstar's respect.

"Hi there! How's it going?" He asked.
