• It was a warm, dry, sunny day, and hell, all she felt like doing was relaxing. Sprawled out across the grass, she stretched and sighed contentedly, tail swishing leisurely across the green blades. It was nice to take a while to just chill and enjoy nature for what it was.

She was on the cusp of warriorhood, and frankly, she thought she might go crazy if she had to wait any longer. One moon. It was so close yet so far away. Every part of her being itched to become a real part of WindClan and have more important duties than just what apprentices did, and maybe even get to train her own.

Of course, like many other cats, she was ambitious. Her parents had held high ranks within the Clan, and she was going to do her damnedest to follow in their footsteps. The sooner she became a warrior and started really using her drive, perhaps she would get noticed. Of course, she didn't expect to become deputy or anything; to be honest, that was a responsibility she wasn't sure she would be able to handle. But even being an advisor or something would help fulfill her dream.

She was going to have to work hard to get there, and she would... but for now, she would enjoy the late afternoon sun.

  • When she saw the female lying on the ground, she smiled. Wingspan padded over to the she-cat, and sat down by her. "Hello there. What's your name, may I ask?" she asked politely. "I'm Wingspan. It's nice to meet you." Her tail flicked, a little lazily. "It's a nice day, isn't it?"

  • Pale green eyes slid up to view the advisor, and she offered a polite nod in greeting. Desertpaw. It's nice to meet you," she meowed in return, stretching and righting herself, curling her banded tail over her paws. "A lovely day. Perfect to take a little time to relax, don't you think?"

  • "Yeah," she smiled, looking at the she-cat. "Do you mind if I sit with you?" she asked. "If you do mind, I'll go..." she mewed, eyes on the apprentice, waiting for her reply.

  • "Nah, I don't mind," she replied jovially, flicking her tail. "You up to anything in particular, or do you just want to chill?" From her experience, when warriors, most generally anyone important, wanted to sit with you, they had some sort of ulterior motive they didn't want to come right out and say.

  • "I just want to chill, if you're not about to go out on a patrol or something," she said to Desertpaw, nodding her head. "Or we could perhaps go and get something to drink. I don't mind, whatever you want to do."

  • "I was on the dawn patrol, so I think I'm going to have the rest of the day free," she told Wingspan, "My mentor's been giving me a lot more freedom to do what I want with my time lately, since I'm so close to my warrior ceremony." And she was pretty grateful for it. She'd worked herself half to death before he'd managed to knock some sense into her. "Eh, just chilling is fine with me."

  • "Okay!" she smiled, as she lay down, flicking her tail. "Let's enjoy the sun." With that, she stretched, liking the fact that she was warm, when not that long ago, she had been cold, due to it having been leaf-bare.

  • Nodding, Desertpaw stretched out again, allowing the sun to warm her pelt. Now that she knew she wasn't in trouble for anything - it wouldn't have been the first time, but those times were truly far and few between - she was pretty relaxed already.

  • The advisor let out a yawn, smiling. "So, do you have any family?" she asked the apprentice curiously, trying to make friendly conversation. "My mom was Nebulaheart, and my dad was... someone I only met like, once, since I wasn't raised knowing he was my father. The one I did consider my father was Vectorshadow, but he left..."

  • Desertpaw was silent for a moment, considering how she wanted to answer Wingspan's question. "...Not anymore," she murmured. "Calmstar and Nimbleflight were my parents. I was never all that close with any of my siblings or anything, so..."

  • "Oh," she mewed softly. Calmstar and Nimbleflight. She had known both of them. Nimbleflight had even been her aunt, making her Desertpaw's cousin. "I... I'm sorry to hear about that," she said quietly.

  • "Eh, it's alright. Cats die. You have to move on with your life eventually." She flicked her tail, not sure what else to say. It had taken her a long time to get over her loss, that was for certain, but hey. She had, and she had come out stronger because of it. Did she miss her mother and father? Of course she did. But she wouldn't let it hold her back from living.

  • "I wish I'd thought like that, when Vectorshadow left, and Nebulaheart went missing," she mewed wistfully. "They're long gone now though. I... have more things to worry about then them. Like my kits, and my future kits." She looked down at her stomach. "I'm expecting, you see."

  • "Yeah, well, it took me a while to figure that out, so..." She fell silent, whiskers twitching. "I just have to focus on the future. My future. And somehow, it hurts a little less." Wingspan pretty much echoed her words, only in a more specific manner. "Oh? Congratulations." She knew kits were important to the Clan - but she had never understood the desire to have any. Eh, maybe she would when she was older. She doubted it, but maybe.

  • "I don't think I'll ever want to have kits... I wouldn't want to have to make my life revolve around them for six moons," she commented. Not that there was anything wrong with having a contrary opinion. "I wouldn't be happy, I don't think."

  • "...I don't mean to be nosy, but - why do you want a family?" Perhaps it was a little rude to ask, but Desertpaw had always been that way. If she wanted to know something, she would ask, without giving thought as to if she might offend someone.

  • "I don't know, I just think it would be nice to have children and watch them grow and raise them," she said, looking at the apprentice, nodding.
