  • Four thousand years ago, when our "great kingdom" was being rebuilt from the ashes of the greatest war ever fought, there was no time for things like "justice" or "peace". There was only strength and the will to do what it took to survive.

But when generals, war heroes, and soldiers tried to bring order and prosperity, each with his own method, another war almost broke out. A young dragon rose from the people to prevent that from happening.

With the support of his people, this young dragon stopped the fighting and branded the warriors as traitors, murderers, and thieves and banished them to a lifeless desert to die.

With the "traitors" disposed of, the young dragon built a mighty and peaceful kingdom and became its first emperor. He decided that exile was the best way to punish criminals and began the practice of banishing any dragon convicted of a crime to the desert. Any convicted dragon who attempted to leave the desert was killed on sight.

The new emperor believed the criminals had died in the desert and that he had freed his kingdom of crime.

    But he was dead wrong.

Many dragons in the desert quickly came to the realization that, if they were to survive, they would need each other's help. They banded together, many of them raising families. As the families banded together and intermingled, tribes were formed, and as the tribes merged and made alliances, clans were established.

Within two thousand years, these convicted criminals created their own civilization of clans that wandered the desert. Vital resources like hunting grounds and watering holes were discovered and fought over. But the wise leaders of the four clans foresaw what would happen if the fighting continued and chose from among themselves a High Chief of Clans that would have authority over all four clans.

This High Chief was tasked with the job of arranging a yearly tournament in which young warriors from each clan would fight to prove which was the strongest. The winning warrior's clan gained access to the best watering hole and hunting grounds.

This is how, over the course of four thousand years, the four "condemned clans" forged a prosperous, warlike society in the harsh desert stone.

And now, these clans gather for the final tournament to decide which clan will lead the charge to take back the lands of their ancestors.

Unknown(doesn't show anyone. She only uses it as a last resource, usually killing whoever was in the way)

  • Pulsus fitted his helmet on and checked the rest of his armor. Once sure that it was all secured properly, he entered Aliit'ijaat clan's dueling ring.

His opponent, a water dragon from Dral'deoten, also stepped into the ring. The aquatic dragon was clearly out of his environment and seemed to process this slower.

An elder dragon hit a large gong with his hammer-like tailblade, beginning the fight.

Both Pulsus and Lanril, the water dragon, crouched low to the ground and watched each other's movements carefully.

He's a water dragon, so I'll have to be wary of the well behind him. Pulsus warned himself.

"You ready for this?" Lanril challenged, puffing his chest out and spreading his wings in a display of dominance.

He's taunting me. Trying to see what I'm made of. Pulsus thought. "Nice trick. But it won't work here." He mocked.

  • ooc: Oh, forgot to say your OC is accepted. ...Your OC is accepted. ...Welp, I said it. Lettuce begin! :P

Below is a picture of Lanril.

  • Alestria watched the fight from where she was. She put on her helmet and made sure that her body armor was on. She made sure that her claws and teeth were razor sharp. She went back to watching the fight. She smiled and waited for one or the other to fail so she could fight.

  • Lanril stomped his foot and punched the air, summoning water from the well to shoot out at Pulsus.

Pulsus ducked beneath the jet of water and leaped at his opponent. But the water dragon had won many duels in his time and was skilled. Lanril side-stepped out of the way and delivered a brutal uppercut to Pulsus' jaw.

Instead of fighting it, Pulsus rolled with the blow, using the upward momentum to do a mid-air backflip and slashed his opponent across the chest with his bladed tail.

Lanril jumped back and looked at his chest, making sure the cut didn't get too deep. While he was checking himself, Pulsus charged his horns with lightning and rammed him head-on.

  • Lanril dug his claw into the ground to keep himself from flying out of the ring. He retaliated with a fast barrage of slashes and kicks to Pulsus' chest.

Pulsus tried to move with the blows and dodge as many as he could, but many of Lanril's ferocious strikes made contact and ripped long holes in his armor.

When Lanril had him at the edge of the ring, he could tell the dragon would down soon and the fight would be won. But he was mistaken. He stood on his hind legs and inhaled deeply, preparing to fire a powerful, concentrate jet of steam at his opponent. When he did this, Pulsus sent lighting bouncing across his spines and allowed it to gather into a sphere between the tips of his curved horns.

Both dragons let their powerful attacks loose and the two forces collided. For a brief moment, Lanril's jet pushed Pulsus' lightning sphere back. But as the thunder dragon forced more power into his attack, Lanril's steam disipated and the lightning struck.

Thunder rumbled the dueling ring as the lightning coursed through Lanril's armor, body, and water before exploding and sending him out of the ring, leaving a trail of smoke.

"Pulsus is victorious!" Declared the elder dragon, who had been appointed to oversee the training of young warriors in this area of the desert.

The smell of burnt flesh hung in the air as Pulsus walked proudly out of the ring and took off his armor.

  • Alestria watched the fight. She smiled with a wicked look in her eyes. She put on her thin but strong wing armor and went back to watching the fight.

THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG

  • ooc: Smaug, would you mind making Desolator a bit smaller in this one? Most dragons here don't get much larger than 40 feet tall. Sorry.

  • The gong sounded again as the next fight was set up. The challenger was a member of Dar'ijaat clan named Raxxus.

Raxxus was no ordinary dragon, he was a drake. Born without wings and with a natural taste for blood and battle, he had fought his way up the ranks to get to where he was today.

Pulsus walked by the ring and watched the drake enter the ring and glare at his opponent, Alestria, waiting for her to accept his challenge.

  • Alestria smiled and walked into the fighting field. She looked at Raxxus and smiled with a snarl. She waited for the gong to sound for the fight to began.

  • Raxxus grinned with wicked delight as Alestria stepped into the ring, accepting his challenge. The elder dragon sounded the gong once again to begin the fight.

Raxxus didn't wait for anything, immediately darting Alestria's left and dashing at her. He jumped into the air and slashed at he neck.

  • Alestria leaped away. She landed and turned and faced her opponent. She leaped at him and unleashed a blast of water mixed with thunder and her last one but only a little of her last one. She twisted in mid air and landed father away from him then before but the blast strengthened. She stopped and watched her opponent with a look of absolute happiness in her eyes.

THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG

  • Raxxus took the full force of the blast but stood unfazed as his armor was eaten away. He grinned and began to walk against the blast and had almost closed the distance before breathing a stream of black fire aimed at Alestria's face.
