    Depression was like a black hole. Terrifying, but somehow, even if you try to stay away from it, you get sucked in. Possumpaw had hidden it, and wore it like a shield after her mother rejected her. The shield was cracking. It fell apart, exposing her true self.
    The dreams were the worst. Her mother clawing off her hairless tail, then leaving her. Leaving her in a dark forest. Alone.
    She woke up yowling. She must of annoyed the other apprentices. She couldn't take it anymore. No more. She wanted it to S T O P

    [color=#336666][font=georgia] Curtis flicked an ear and sat up. He had heard a yowl over from the warriors' den, as they called it. He was still getting used to calling something this and this that. He stopped thinking about it and ran over to the apprentices' den to see what had happened. A thorn in the pad maybe? He scowled thinking of it. Surely that hadn't caused a scream like that.

    Starting awake, Excelsiorpaw vaguely noticed her startled mind had chosen the lynx body for her to awake in. Raising her head groggily, she turned to look in Possumpaw's general direction. "Hm? What's wrong?"

    [color=#336666] He skidded to a stop right in front of the den. He heard the other apprentice's question. The yowl had woken her up, obviously. So it must've woke the others. Maybe. Maybe not. He padded in softly anyways.

    "I-I'm sorry... It was just a bad dream." She stuck the tail that caused her so much pain under her, her name, her looks, she hated.

    "Are you sure?" Curtis questioned, noticing the she-cat still looked uncomfortable.

    Curtis sat down next to her. He looked at her while smiling gently. "It's okay. Bad dreams, they're not real. I promise."

    Possumpaw smiled. She was grateful to have someone to care about her.
    "Yeah" she didn't know what else to say.

    He smiled again. "If you have any more dreams, tell me." He said and stood.

    "Alright, then." He padded out of the den again. He walked to the warriors' den.

    Possumpaw faked a smile, and when the bobcat walked out of the den, she let the streams of tears flow out of her eyes. No one could see her weakness. She was soft.

    A pain seemed to erupt from her chest. Her sadness transformed into a white hot anger. Tears still streaming from her eyes, she stormed out of camp. The apprentice would find her. She would find her mother, no matter what it took.

    Possumpaw paused at the end of the border. She had no idea where her mom was, and she was starting to doubt her plan.

    I'm only eight moons old, I'll die alone. The bobcat! He would scare anything that wanted to hurt a cat.

    "ALLY!" he screamed. He glanced around. "Now I'm the one waking cats up." He muttered. He stretched.
