"The bedding is always my job, not the new apprentices'." Possumpaw mumbled under her breath. She was cold and tired, she would rather be in her own bedding than looking for other cats'.
A rustling was in the bushes, but she didn't have enough energy to go catch a mouse. It wasn't food, though. The sound was too loud, she realized as she heard it a second time. She started to back away, but before she could get back to camp, a big yellow blur came out of the bushes. It stared at her, with fire in its eyes.
Dog!

• Snowpaw, a very pretty she-cat, swiped the dog with her unseathed claws and she turned and glared at Possumpaw. "What are standing there for? Run!" >:(

• The apprentice stood in terror. Her paws were rooted to the ground. Another figure jumped out of the bushes, and another, and another. They growled, and the one in front pounced.

A young warrior named Featherwish detected cries of distress from the cover of a spindly tree she was burying a caught mouse underneath. Her right ear twitched sensitively. A strange scent tickled her nose, and though it took her a few seconds to recognize it, when she finally did she could not believe her senses. Dogs! she thought, panicked.
Featherwish tested the air one more time as she prepared to unearth her mouse and return to the BlizzardClan camp, but this time she smelled something additional: the scent of a BlizzardClan cat. One of her Clanmates was in danger! Discouraged that she had been fooled by her nose once, she checked the mixed scents one more time and realized that not one but two of her Clanmates was being attacked. They weren't far from where she stood, and even if they had been fairly far away, she still would have gone to assist them. There would no doubt be a fight to enjoy.
She messily covered up her mouse and started running. The familiar softness of snow under her racing legs pleased her, though that wasn't quite the right word. It rejuvenated her. After two moons of relaxing with regular warrior duties like easygoing hunting and border patrols, she was more than happy to make an adrenaline-driven dash to battle a few dogs.
As the sound of growling dogs and the smell of fear drew closer, Featherwish could not help increasing the speed at which she was running. She had not faced this kind of excitement in far too long. She skidded to a halt at a cluster of bushes that concealed her from the dogs but gave her a view of what treachery they were up to. Two apprentices named Possumpaw and Snowpaw seemed to be holding their own, but the dogs were three times as big as them and there were at least three of them. The apprentices would not be able to scare the dogs off even with Featherwish's help.
Featherwish narrowed her eyes. This was a sticky situation to be in, especially seeing as the youthful warrior's fighting skills had rusted through the two moons she had spent without any skirmishes, let alone a full-blown dog fight. She would have to improvise, but for now, she would do her best to help the two apprentices.
Thinking as fast as she was capable, Featherwish hurled herself out into the open where the dogs could see her, yowling as loud as her lungs could go. She silently hoped that the dogs would latch their attention onto her and she could make a mad dash to buy the apprentices time to escape. She knew it was stupid, but it was sure to be interesting.

• A terrible pain erupted in Possumpaw's back paw. She yowled in pain. Blood seemed to erupt out of the wound, and covered her hairless tail.
She lifted her injured paw off the ground, adrenalin rushing through her veins. She flicked the blood off her tail, and scratched the dog's nose. The dog yelped, then growled. The others ganged up on her, and all hope seemed completely lost. Her life was in StarClan's paws.

• Snowpaw bit the other dog on the muzzle and turned to Possumpaw. "You ok? A young kit like you shouldn't be fighting dogs," She mocked. She turned in a way lacking respect. Then she clawed the first dog again on the muzzle.

• Possumpaw stared at the apprentice. She was the same age as her! She was offended, but too dazed to say anything.
Blood spurted from her back paw. Her heart pounded, she was loosing a lot of blood. She was angry at the white cat, but the pain in her paw distracted her from that.
There was still three dogs, and two cats. No, she smelt another. From BlizzardClan! The dogs stared at the mysterious cat, foaming at the mouth.

Oh, StarClan, I'm being stupid, Featherwish thought as blood rushed through her ears and she stared into the fiery eyes of the dogs. Although the dogs seemed focused on her now, it had taken them a few minutes to finally notice her false stupidity. Somehow, she had to keep their eyes on her so she could guide them away from the apprentices. Hopefully she would live to tell the tale, but the landscape was barren of trees and therefore barren of escape from what she'd gotten herself into.
The dogs had their gazes locked on her, but she did not know how long she could capture their attention. She needed to do something fast, before they returned to practically mauling the apprentices. I guess I'll just run. Without another consideration as to what kind of suicide she was about to commit, Featherwish waved her fluffy tail tauntingly at the dogs, hoping against hope that they would follow her. "Come and get me!" she caterwauled.

IC~ That cat is going to die! She was brave. Possumpaw had to be too. She tried to ignore the pain in her paw, and hissed at the dog not going after the cat. The dog growled, and Possumpaw pounced on it's back. She bit it, and it threw her off.

Smart apprentice! Featherwish thought, grinning. We may be able to escape this disaster with everyone in one piece. Possumpaw had taken advantage of the dogs' focus on Featherwish by surprising one and jumping onto its back. Featherwish coiled herself and sprang up on another dog. While the dog thrashed, Featherwish scratched blindly at the air, hoping she would catch onto its skin.

Possumpaw shook off the pain, and gouged at the dog's eyes. She felt a soft spongy flesh in her claws. It was absolutely disgusting. The dog howled, blood pouring from its eye. It was confused, and the apprentice took the chance. She jumped on its back again, and nipped at its neck.

• [fancypost borderwidth=0]Letting out a snort as he watched from in a tree above, the temporary leader couldn't help but be amused as he watched the BlizzardClanner. Hell, if a dog had traveled onto BloodClan land then it'd be dead within moments-- he guessed that was what made BlizzardClan a pro-clan, though. Weakness.

The serval's ringed tail swayed from side to side as he continue spectating, keeping quiet.

One of Featherwish's claws caught onto fur and tore a patch of it, but she did not come into contact with skin. Frustrated, she stabilized herself as well as possible by digging her claws into the dog. The canine whimpered as it spun in circles of confusion, trying to find the source of the agony. Featherwish snarled in annoyance. Stupid dog, she criticized silently. Just stop your whining so I can get a good slice down your belly.
However, Featherwish was not appropriately prepared when the dog finally did stop to face the cat drilling into its back. "Uh-oh," she mewed. The dog dove for her lithe but fuzzy body but failed to do much damage. Its teeth had grazed her ear though, and she could feel hot blood oozing down into her ear canals. As more blood pooled in that ear, she had difficulty hearing much in that particular ear. This would definitely present a disadvantage.
Instinctively, she latched onto the dog once more with her claws, not wanting to be thrown off and killed in such a fashion. The dog knew the reason for the pinpricks of pain this time though, and did not hesitate to try stretching its neck back to bite Featherwish. When it did, Featherwish lashed out with one of her claws and celebrated as her paw scratched the dog's muzzle. The dumb creature howled in pain, but Featherwish knew it would not be enough.
With its jaw foaming, the dog attempted to nip Featherwish again. The young warrior bent one of her paws and slipped it underneath the mouth of the dog and dragged that set of claws across the neck flesh. The dog yelped as blood poured from its wound. Featherwish knew that the infliction wouldn't kill the dog, but it would give her time to join the two apprentices in their personal fights.

• (I'm back). Snowpaw stared at Featherwish. 'Mousebrain.' She said. She leapt at Possumpaw. "I thought I told you to stay back, kit." She growled. She turned away for Snowpaw without waiting for an answer. Then she pounced at a dog and suffocated it by covering it's nose and kept it mouth closed.

Featherwish grimaced as she watched Snowpaw suffocate the dog. The apprentice was witty, that was for sure, but it was clear that she had a sharp tongue. Feeling awkward, she stumbled over her words as she mewed, "Interesting tactic. Effective though."

• Snowpaw rolled her eyes. "Duh! My mother taught me that move. But your moves are as witty as a mouse nibbling on wheat." She said. The dog she killed was laying on the ground with vultures looking at it with pleasure

"Would you stop calling me a kit!? I'm as old as you are!" Possumpaw hissed. She ignored Snowpaw's warnings, and jumped towards the next dog. She jumped on it, and held on tight as it jumped around. Pain seethed through her back paw as it kept hitting the dog's back. Two more came out of the bushes.
Possumpaw climbed up the dog's back, and gave it a big bite on its neck. She slid off, and slit its stomach, blood pouring onto her face.
