Mark gave her a second look, she knew quite a bit about his kind and it was slightly unnerving. "There are few purebloods left, whereas most of the vampires in the world are Aristocrat. A pureblood vampire has the ability to order other vampires around no matter their ranking. Aristocrat vampires have human blood in the ancestory where as purebloods have none. I myself am a pureblood, one of the direct descendants of the vampires that walked the earth in the Old Testament of your humanistic bible." He paused for a moment before continuing, "If I were to mate with a human our offspring would still be truer vampires than any other student in the night dorm. That is the level of purity that my family has maintained." I said with a somewhat smug smile.

"It's more to keep us separate from the humans." He said with a chuckle, "Going into the sun doesn't do anything harmful to us except be extremely irritating. Imagine if every time the sun came out someone came along and shone a flashlight right in your eyes! Well you'd wish that the sun stopped coming out after the third day or so. Most of us wear sunglasses during the day, and me and my bodies regularly go down to the beach to tan away that disgusting white colour that all of the older more 'traditional' (Here he makes air quotes) vampires think is necessary. But like me and my friends say, 'We weren't born in the 14th century we don't need to look like dead fish anymore.'." Mark laughed a little to himself remembering a spin off of the joke he had just said, wishing he could share it with his new human friend but knowing that she wouldn't get any of it. "How is it that you have never met a vampire before?" He said with a chuckle as he looked at the girl for maybe too long savoring every moment that he got with her.

"I am more surprised that someone with your knowledge of my kind hasn't noticed our presence. As far as normal humans go, I'm not surprised. But you. You're different somehow." Mark said with a sly smile.

"Dinner?" He said, his jaw having fallen open. "Uh-I would love to, what's the occasion?" He asked still surprised by her sudden burst of boldness.

"Riiiight." Mark said, convinced but still a little taken aback by the invitation. "Well there are a few spectacular restaurants down by the harbor, and I still have four or five hours till my first lecture. If you don't mind motorbikes I could take us there right now." He said with a smile slightly excited that she wanted to learn more about his kind. He was also quite happy to spend more time with her, but he wouldn't tell her that.

"Then I won't have to go slow." He said with a smirk as he rose to his feet, already sliding his backpack on and extending a hand to the girl sitting on the grass. "You will have to sneak around to the back of the dorm with me, but once we're there then you won't need to worry about being quiet." He said trying to think of the easiest way for a human to get to the garage where his old 1940's motorbike sat awaiting his return.

"Oh you mean leaving campus with a human as well as freely divulging any and all information about myself as well as my entire species?" He said with a sly grin as he pulled on her hand as he began jogging back towards the gate, "Oh not at all." He finished with a small chuckle, his bright blue eyes flashing with mirth.
