  • Ooc: It's been awhile~ I never knew you responded until now, so.. yeah :) I cant imagine! How much longer until it's finished?

Feeling his tail on her shoulder, she flashed a quick, warm smile at him. She was in a cheerful mood this gathering, though she usually didn't attend them, she was enjoying herself this time around. And though she were listening to the leaders of the clans, she really was thinking of far worse scenarios. Pushing it to the back of her mind as it could wait for later, she shifted her position to a rather uncomfortable one, but as of now, it actually felt more comfortable, mentally.

  • Ooc: as far as i know work has slowed down on the house as everyone waits for various things to happen. Im going to go ahead and skip to the end of the gathering so we may begin silentstripe's confesion/excuse for not being around.

Ic: It was a wait that felt like eternity had passed by as Silentstripe let out a light sigh of relief. The gathering had come to an end and the clans said their goodbyes as they went their seperate ways. Silentstripe rose hesitantly not wanting to leave his comforting position beside Willowflare and also because he knew she would be angry with him for his foolish reason to be absent from her for a second time. He looked at his mate with an expression of affection as he waited for her to stand and join him in their return to camp.

  • Ooc: I see. Okay :)

Willowflare watched as the cats around her stood up and dispersed. Feeling her mate rise next to her, she stood up and stretched quickly. Waving her tail in goodbye to Nightheart before turning to Silentstripe, a cheerful smile on her face. "Let's go," She paused before asking, "Do you want to talk on the way, or once we get back home?" She was fine with whatever he wanted to go with. She was just curious to know what he wanted to talk about, and why he had abandoned her for so long- again! Of course she was mad about it, but seeing an old friend put her in a good mood. Whether or not what he wanted to talk about involved him being gone or something else, she was going to confront him about it. She was tired of being left alone.

  • "The sooner the better." Silentstripe mewed nervously hoping to get it over with before he could talk himself out of it. "But I don't want anyone else to hear so perhaps we should stay a little behind the group." Putting his words into action he slowed down till they were at a distance he felt comfortable speaking at. Breathing a slow and deep breath he summoned all his shakey courage. "I know your mad and you have good reason to be. My reasons for being away and leaving you alone for so long are simply my own weakness and fear." Silentstripe spoke in a voice filled with sadness and fear. "You know about my father and what happened then but I have also put my life in danger by taking Indigopaw as my apprentice. There are dangerous creatures after him and they will kill anyone who gets in their way, I'm not mentaly sound when my actions could cause injury or death to those I care for. In my fear I avoided camp as much as possible to keep an eye out for them while keeping you safe from being targeted. I was wrong to do that to you Wilowflare and I deeply regret succuming to my own cowardice again and neglecting you." He ended nearly breaking down and crying.

  • Willowflare nodded and walked slowly beside him as he began. And his words set her off immediately. Yeah, that's right I'm f******* mad! she thought. Listening intently as angry thoughts ran through her head, she forced herself to slow down the pace and stay with him. Her eyes narrowed. After he finished, she saw how emotional he was getting. She paused, taking a few minutes to process her thoughts. Although she was still flaming mad, his care for her dropped some water on those flames. Taking a deep breath, she began. "Silentstripe, you always have good reasons to avoid me, but that does not drop the fact that you left me alone- saying nothing of why. I didn't even know where you were! For all I knew, you could have been dead. So yeah, I'm very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very mad!" Her words built of with more force. "And after all we've been through, you don't trust that I can't defend myself?" She paused for a moment, and began again with a calmer tone. "Look, Silentstripe, I know you care about my safety. I understand that. But you could die out there and I wouldn't know a thing. Our kits could be born and you wouldn't know! And with Cinderpelt gone, me not having been able to contact my sister, and you constantly in danger of being killed so you cant even pay a visit so that I know your okay... The next time you go missing without a trace, I swear, I will go after you whether you like it or not!" She lashed her tail and looked away as if she didn't even want to hear what he had to say next.

  • Every word she spoke was justified and Silentstripe knew his poor excuses and cowardice were to blame. He forced himself not to cry, he had no right to do so, and very carefully he thought about his next words. "Your right Willowflare, it's unfair of me to abandon you much like my family did to me." Whincing at just how close he is to being like his family he continued with little hesitation. "I will never abandon you again, but if I must be absent for a time you will know why and where." His expression was uncharacteristicaly confident but held a touch of trepidation hoping that his mate would believe him.

Ooc: of course inactivity in real life will probably depend on how exhausted i am after working in the summer heat which i dont typically do well in.

  • Ooc: yeah, another reason I don't like summer. The heat.

Willowflare stared at him for a long moment. "It better not be long." She said slowly, lashing her tail, and started walking faster. She was still mad of course, but knowing that after this, he will not abandon her again if his words proved true. She turned to Silentstripe, hoping to change the subject. "How is Indigopaw's training going?" She asked him, relaxing her tensions enough not to sound enraged.

  • Silentstripe was glad to hear that she had accepted his appology. "Never again." Was his reply, losing her love was the last thing he wanted. Quickening his pace to catch up and match his mates he thought the rest of the walk would be in silence. That is until Willowflare brought up his apprentice. "It's not going well, everytime I try to train his combat abilities his powers get in the way. I know he's already quite capeable but I'm afraid of what will happen if he's fighting someone that his powers don't work on." Silentstripe let out a sigh. "It's probably just my nature but I am worried about him, especially knowing those things are out there somewhere looking for him and I don't know what their capeable of."

  • Willowflare nodded. She knew the apprentice he trained was special, but never that this apprentice possessed abilities. "Perhaps you should try to train him in his abilities first, and then train him in combat with no abilities." She suggested. "Make a ridge between the two." Of course she didn't know the situation other than what she heard, but so far, that's probably what she would do. She wished Silentstripe would drop by, even with the creatures out there, but this special apprentice and the dangers of training him Silentstripe would insist on doing this solo. She worried, but she knew that Silentstripe was perfectly capable of taking care of himself.

  • "I wish it were that simple but I have no real experiance with powers so I wouldn't know what to do. He would be better offf practicing on his own than listen to me guess about what would be best." Silentstripe explained "I do think he can accomplish it on his own but he seems very dependent on recieving directions." While they may have sounded like excuses to him they were genuin concerns. Trying to train his apprentice in the use of something he himself couldn't even understand just sounded like a recipe for disaster. He was also worried about hindering his apprentices progress, Indigopaw worked hard and showed great natural talent but seemed to lack the desire to think for himself on many occasions. "While were on the subject may I ask how your apprentice is doing?"

  • Willowflare nodded. She secretly hoped Indigopaw's training would go by quicker, but with such a special cat with powers and "shadows" or something after him, it would take longer than a normal apprentice, most likely. And this young cat would need guidance, and Silentstripe was a wonderful mentor- Indigopaw's training was important, so she was proud that her mate got the role to train him. Silentstripe, more than anyone, needed something to see that he was special in his own way. She shrugged. "Actually, I haven't seen too much of her. But last time we trained, she was doing pretty well." She meowed. Indeed, she hadn't seen her apprentice for a bit of time- split between her inactiveness and Skypaw's inactiveness.

  • "I hope she is doing alright." Silentstripe mewed sounding concerned. He knew the apprentice couldn't be avoiding his mate on purpose. But he also belived it wasn't his place to judge anyone for avoiding others if that be the case. "I suppose we should catch up to the others." He mewed reluctantly "It's not very safe to be out without a group anymore with all the fighting going on lately." Silentstripe hated times of conflict and what it put his clanmates through. Though from what he had heard Windclan's new leader didn't exactly seem to be one for peaceful approaches to situations. Windclan's recent aggression as far as he knew was to make it clear that Windclan was not the weak clan everyone always made them out to be. Regardless of the reason behind the agression Silentstripe did not agree with the method regardless of the results they might bring.
