Were these humans so daft that they didn't seem to understand that the puma was right over there? Bounding off in the opposite direction of the puma, she gained one more reason in life to completely and utterly believe that nobody could trust anybody.

She dodged the bullets that may or may not have been fired at her, priding herself in her ability to not get hit again. These humans, if they got found out about, in which it was highly and extremely likely that they would considering it was nowhere near hunting season in any part of any place, and it was illegal to shoot at lynxes everywhere considering they were endangered. So, really, these men, if they did shoot, would be breaking the law.

But, that's not to say that they mind breaking the law.

Hiding under a bush many many yards away from the humans, and from Athena, considering Aeron wasn't broken in the nose, just the leg, or deaf, Aeron barely made any breath from her hiding place and felt a small twinge in her gut.

She hated few things now, but her hate wasn't the kind that was easily swayed.

She hated humans, all of them, for the fear they all instilled within her.

And she hated Athena, for not understanding that trust wasn't given blindly, it was earned. And whatever trust Nikkie had started to form for the puma who had saved her life, was definitely gone for forever now.

Taking another deep breath, the ghost-cat turned and slipped into the darkness of the forest night alone, her dark brown-amber eyes glaring into the night around her as she used a trick known by all of her ancestors.

See a place, leave a place. As silent as a ghost.

The dark night hid her well, and she kept her path away from any danger, Athena and the humans alike, because, without her knowing it, this was a new chapter in her life. And this is where she would start her journey on her own, without a companion, or a friend, or an enemy.

    Other than humans.

They would always be her enemies now.[/fancypost]

Thanks for RPing with me, and if you want to have another thread with Aeron, just PM my main account, where there is a link right at the bottom of this. :)

If the ending seemed abrupt to you, I actually thought it perfect, because Aeron is just like that: sudden and uncaring about such consequences as possible death. :-[
