Renon was almost away into the woods when the ringing of steel met his ears, he turned over his shoulder to give the woman a glare. "Do you think that true? You can't beat me!" The scout smirked and drew his own blade. "Whatever those elves call their stupid forest is not a concern for the Imperial Army, it will burn not that I've seen one of the wildlings."
-
"Perhaps i should have let you kill him. If it is neccisary i will do it myself." Alaryan said to the other elf.
She started to walk towards him not saying a word. Her face was stone and ice no emotion. It was the expression that said to those who knew it: you are about to die, or possibly face a worse fate than death. Alaryan did not move to attack she just undid the clasp of her cloak and threw it to the side.
OOC: Sorry about the late reply, i had band practice.

If you wish for some help,I will send Uluthrek said Eternal's mind.Uluthrek drew her sword and asked Eternal Feather"How strong is your race,War Chief Feather".Eternal sighed'We are strong, and I told you to please stop calling me War Chief"
-
He almost dropped his blade, he had blundered and japed at elves with a concealed elf. Renon bit his lip and shakily put his sword up, "H-Hey! Stop r-right there!" He wailed, "In...In the name of the King!" the scout managed to squeak out the last part as the distance between the two closed. His face showed his nervousness, if only Captain Horman had sent him with reinforcements.
-
Eternal Feather glanced at Renon"Galbatorix"mouthed Uluthrek"He works for that lack-horned fool"
-
"I will never kneel to your false king." Alaryan swore as she continued to walk towards him slowly like a hunting cat. Renon's expression made her realise that he was a child who wanted despritly to be a man grown. A child who had been feed lies all his life.
-
Maybe a bit of flattery was needed to get out of this fight, he wasn't incline to dance the steps of death with this elven woman. Instead, Renon threw his sword down, landing unceremoniously on the grass, and fell to his knees and held up his hands as if he were praying to god, "Oh yes! How false he is! Mercy, I yield!" He cried out, his treacherous thoughts encircling the bow on his back. His face displayed the cowardice held in his heart, tears welled up in his eyes, he truly didn't care to die today.
-
"Mercy? It would be more merciful to cut off you head and give you a swift painless death than to let you live and return to your General." stated Alaryan her voice devoid of life. She rested her sword against the side of Renon's neck.
-
This certainly frightened the young soldier, he had always been a respectful, hospitable man, and now fate repaid him with an elf threatening to decapitate him, Renon hushed silently, sobs escaping from time to time, he didn't want to die this sort of cowards death, "I shared...M-My food with you!" He offered meekly, staring at her with his muddy brown eyes.
-
"Mercy or choice?" asked Alaryan as she pressed the blade against his neck hard enough to cut cleanly through skin and draw blood. Her green eyes watching his reaction to her question and her silent threat. Know that he did not wish to die she could guess his answer.
Does anyone have any random plot threads they would like included in the story?
-
The question was a slow one for the soldier to comprehend, thoughbthe answer was clearly mercy. He yelped as the blade pushed against his broken skin, the warm blood stickely sliding down his uniform. "P-Please, I don't wanna die!" Renon begged, trying to escape the sword so perilously close to his neck.
None that I can think of.
-
"I will let you have the choice of what to do with your life if you hear me out." Alaryan consented even if he was just a child he could still be a weapon. She kept her sword perfectly still and she waited.
So sorry about the super late post my internet wasn't working for a while. It's fixed now i think.
-
A choice meant a chance to live, and to live meant he could put an arrow between her eyes when the elf least expected it, he smiled underneath his anguish, "W-What would you have of me?" he inquired, carefully wiping the shameful tears off of his cheeks.
-
"Up until one hundred years ago the human was ruled by a line of human kings that had ruled since the human first came to Alagaesia. The elves governed themselves and so did the dwarfs and urgals. Above all four races were the dragon riders and the dragons." Alaryan explained as she reached out to his mind.
-
Renon felt a presence in his conscious that seemed foreign and undomesticated, but powerful and unstoppable, "Those are children's stories! P-Please, I just want to leave." He protested, his mind poking at the presence carefully, it felt like headache without any pain.
-
"Then they are true children stories," she said through both her mind and her voice. She also inserted an image of a magnificent emerald green dragon with a man in shining silver armour in its back into Renon's mind.
-
Her voice seemed to echo, inside of his head and out. His eyes widened and he clasped his ears, "...What was that?" he inquired, his voice wispy at the sudden potential threat, Renon has never been taught how to defend his mind. As he tried to recall the memory, all he drew was blankness, as if the memory was not his own, "Get out of my head." He whispered, recalling the deep green of the scales he had envisioned.
-
"The dragon riders lived for hundreds of years they were humans or elves that had a magical bond with dragons." Alaryan continued ignoring his shock. This time she sent it was a memory of watching a hundred dragons flying over head with their riders'. "These are no fairy tales Renon. The riders were warriors, scholars, healers, teachers, and mages, without equal."
-
The words almost went unheard, the soldier was not withering on the ground, mumbled please of mercy escaping his lips, but, the image of the dragons was pleasing enough, so his already meager defenses fell. The only thing driving him to the ground was his instinct's acting up, there was no telling what this elven woman would impose, "...Tell me more." he managed to say, a curious smile lingering his expression, hands still clenched tightly about his head.
