  • A silver tabby cat leapt gracelessly over her house's fence. Landing roughly on her four paws, Feather turned back towards a calico cat. "Hey, Ash!" She called, faintly grinning. She had just met up with her friend after a few weeks, and they planned to celebrate by touring the city. "Get over here! The night's still young, but that doesn't mean we can waste it!"

Though she couldn't speak for the calico, Feather's spirits were high. Her purple collar jingling with every step, she slowed her pace and waited for Ash to catch up. Her mind was already wandering to what sort of trouble they'd manage to find tonight.

  • Ash nodded and quickened his pace, catching up to the silver tabby that was touring him around the city.

  • Feather purred as she saw her friend catch up. "Hmm, where to go? There's the junkyard and the hoarder's house and the mansion and the playground..." The housecat thought aloud. "... And then there's the loner gangs, but they don't like me. They always call me a 'kittypet'." Feather turned back to Ash with a small frown, but it quickly faded. "Hey, I know! Let's go see everything; we have all night to burn!"

  • The calico tom nodded and flicked his tail, taking the lead and bursting ahead to look for things interesting. He spotted an old cat digging through the garbage but he quickly turned his head away and gazed for more interesting things. "What about there?" He asked and stared at an abandoned building, or so it looked like one.

  • The silver tabby cat flicked her tail absentmindedly. "Dunno. Let's check it out." She responded, setting a brisk pace toward the building. The scent of dust and mold drifted from it; Feather was pretty sure it was abandoned. No housefolk she'd ever met would let their den fall into such decay. "Looks like it's just an abandoned house; but who knows? Might be something cool inside."

  • Ash nodded and slowly approached the building, he stood at the boarded up entrance. "Woah, wait, over here!" He smiled and squeezed his body through a hole in the side.

  • The housecat followed, scrambling through the boarded entrance after her friend. Her amber eyes blinked, struggling to adjust to the darkness. Even with the advanced vision of a feline, it was a sudden change from the moonlight outside. "You see anything?" She asked, glancing around as she waited for her eyes to adapt.

  • There was a thump and a loud hissing, "ow! My paw!" He hissed and shook his front right leg, lightly slapping her whiskers.

  • Feather started giggling. "You okay, Ash? You almost hit me." Her mind started wandering to what had freaked out the calico so badly before she noticed he probably had just stubbed his paw on something. "Er, what'd you trip on? Or stub your paw on or something?" The kittypet asked curiously.

(Pfft, just noticed that I got the lyrics wrong. Ah well, at least now they can't copyright me. :P)

  • "There is something on the floor," he slowly bent down and sniffed it, it was a board nailed to the floor.

  • "Oh! What is it, what is it whatisit!?" Feather cheered. Her finally adjusted amber eyes looked to what Ash had hit to reveal... a broken floorboard. "Well. That's nothing special." She mewed, unable to keep the disappointment out of her tone. "I thought we found treasure or something."

  • "Well, we should start looking around." He smiled and stepped over the board and sniffed around. Almost falling into a loose bunch of boards but he quickly moved away before they fell.

  • Feather took a few hurried steps back once the wood began to fall. Whoa, that was close. Oh well, it was still worth a look around. The housecat sniffed the air and scanned the room before finding another loose plank on the floor. Curious, she pried it off the floor as Ash had done before her. "... Hey, Ash! There's something stuck on the back of this board!" Knowing her luck, it was probably just a piece of gum. Still, it was worth it to check, and Feather was thrilled just knowing that she found something.

  • Ash nodded and gently bounded to the she-cat. He stood beside her and stared down at her claim. "What is it?" He asked as he brought his nose up to sniff it.

  • "It's... a piece of gum." Feather mewed dejectedly. She huffed out a sigh, but quickly brightened up again. "Hey, I've already found more than you, so you'd better pick up the pace." She teased and went back to exploring the abandoned room.

  • Ash nodded and went to a staircase, well, what was left of it. He flicked his ear and unsheathed his claws, climbing up from under the handrail.

  • The silver tabby cat followed her friend up the stairway, doubtful that there was anything more to find in the room. She cleared a gap in the stairs with a graceless leap and poked her head into the second floor room. This house seemed unusually small. Maybe the housefolk who had owned it had been poor, or maybe it hadn't been a house at all? Curious, Feather wandered onto the second floor, moonlight pouring in from a broken window.

  • Ash lead the way around, then screeched when a floor board broke and he almost fell. "Geez us!" He hissed and took a few steps back, next time being a bit more careful. The nest smelled of mold, but he ignored it when he spotted something making a faint light in the corner of the building. It was a rock, what is a rock doing in a place like this? Maybe a up-walker threw it through the window?

  • The housecat kept chuckling at Ash's distress. "You found something?" She asked, then followed his line of sight to a rock sitting in the corner. "Well, I guess we're even now. I found a useless piece of gum, and you found a worthless rock?"

  • He sniffed it and touched it, then it broke through the floor and sent him with the collapsing boards. "Whoooaaa!" He screeched as he fell, landing awkwardly on his side. "Ouch." He whimpered and rested for a little. "I think we should get out of here."
