• { 3 days, and counting. i was behind on 14 french assignments. now i'm down to 8. someone shoot me.

    anyway, sorry for the lengthy response time. it's been a rough week in school e_e i'm trying to balance 3 projects and a term paper, on top of nightly homework..as well as making up a bunch of overdue assignments. i'm completely checked out. thankfully, it's the weekend, so my stress has eased up enough for me to squeeze out a few posts~ }

    The tawny furred she-kit lay quietly in the center of the nursery, paws curled beneath her chest and tail slowly sweeping away at the floor behind her. She stared out into the clearing, watching nothing or no one in particular. There wasn't much going on--everyone, for the most part, seemed to have left, and the clearing was nearly deserted. Not that she had expected anything differently, of course. Every day, the apprentices went out to train, and the warriors went about their daily routine while she wasted away in a stuffy den with nothing but herself and the quiet. Quite frankly, she was bored.

    The sound of a voice nearby drew her from her thoughts. She raised her golden gaze to Shadowstar's emerald one, a small ounce of surprise flickering across her expression.

    "Shadowstar!" She purred delightedly, standing to her paws and shaking out her pelt. It wasn't often that she got visitors here in the nursery. Apart from Honeydapple, Hawkkit didn't have anyone here with her. No bumbling kits, no talkative little bundles of fur. No one for her to socialize or play with. Of course, she didn't mind. Hawkkit had never been a very social kitten, and she liked the quiet of the nursery. Even so, getting a visitor always brought about a small spark of excitement within her--and from the clan leader himself, at that!

    "Is there something you need?" Any other time, she would have assumed that Shadowstar was coming to speak to Honeydapple; however, Honeydapple wasn't currently in the nursery. Besides, he had called out to her specifically. She sat down and gingerly rested her tail across her paws, waiting patiently for Shadowstar's response.

    Pepperedstep's only response was an agitated grunt. He lowered his head, jaws slightly parted and whiskers twitching as he tried to place the smell. There was certainly a foul odour in the air--how could Stripedtail not scent it? Pepperedstep took a few steps away from the forest's edge--away from Emberclan territory--and into the field beyond.

    "Try harder," he growled, a commanding sound. There was no way that the seasoned warrior was leaving until he had placed a source to the odd scent.

    Shoving his way out of the apprentice den, Blizzardpaw stomped toward the fresh-kill pile. The ivory tom looked angry, as usual. His eyes were a sharp blue color as he stared displeased with the pile of prey. Not a single thing looked appetizing. The striped feline parted his jaws and released an angered hiss before collapsing near the entrance of camp. The large tom was just a bit more angry today than usual. Blizzardpaw had waited to be put on a patrol and was completely bypassed. Stuck with cleaning duty.

  • OOC: any interesting plot ideas guys? before we start to get bored?

    Shadowstar peered down at the small kit, if it was still appropriate to refer to her as one, she had lost most of her kit fluff (although she had not had much to begin with) and was starting to look older. While she seemed rather sweet, the young kit had always unnerved Shadowstar. Hawkkit had sharp golden eyes that seemed almost too intelligent for her own good.

    "Will you come outside to talk to me?" he inquired politely, wincing slightly at the awkward sentence structure, he spoke to the kit the same he would to an older cat. Without waiting for a response the dark tom ducked out of the nursery and into the clearing. Shadowstar felt better once he was out of the confining spaces of the nursery. He had never particularly liked small spaces, as he was rather large and being confined to an area made him edgy. Out of the corner of his eyes he noticed Blizzardpaw, the young tom had been stuck with cleaning duties.

    ...

    Stripetail obliged, if only to make the old tom feel better. "I still don't scent anything." he mewed slowly, trying to get the message to the old tom without offending him. "Perhaps we should find one of the others, they may be able to scent something I can't." he offered. While Stripetail genuinely didn't think that there was much to find, he sensed that the old tom wouldn't let go. Finding someone else would confirm that there indeed was nothing and would hopefully satisfy the old tom.

  • Blizzardpaw's icy glare gazed Shadowstar. His tense posture and facial expression faded. He stared blankly now, though his eyes were still very sharp and dignified. The white tom kept his eyes on the leader for only a few seconds before directing them to the highrock. Someday Blizzardpaw wanted to make it there. But to impress who? To prove what? There was no one to make proud anyway. The stripped tom nearly spat, but thought better of it, flicking his ears back.

    Sootskies twitched her ebony whiskers before standing up. The feline glanced at the tom who was hunting with her before meowing lightly, "I'm going back to camp with the prey I've collected." the lithe warrior meowed. Her dark charcoal pelt rippled as she grasped all the pieces of prey she had caught by the river, and headed to recollect the things she'd hunted beforehand. Sootskies successfully achieved her goal before stalking back into camp. The feline tossed the prey onto the fresh-kill pile, fish water splashing a disgusted Blizzardpaw in the face.

    occ: I've got an idea. What if Hawkkit becomes Hawkpaw and once that happens Bliz and Hawk start to talk and plot together and plan to like get more evil cats and rogues to over throw the clan or something. Or else forbidden love because yes.

  • { also, im not sure what i was getting at with Pepperdstripe smelling weird stuff, but that can go along with it. there could be a pack of evil rogues that have been wandering along the edge of the territory that eventually recruit hawkpaw/blizzardpaw. Pepperedstep would try to warn everyone and seem like some crazy old senile cat for a while, and then turn out to have been right the whole time, and that would amuse me greatly. }

    Hawkkit didn't respond, only gave the older cat a curt nod, padding after him into the clearing. She blinked, the dazzling light that poured into the clearing momentarily dazing her. Since coming to Emberclan, she had gotten used to the gloominess of the nursery. Before, her entire world had been the sky. Now, every time she looked up, she saw only a dull, grey ceiling. Of course, she did occasionally get to venture out of the nursery, such as when Sootskies had taken her out to practice battle techniques. And for that, she was thankful. Even so, her muscles ached every moment she was away from the trees.

    Her home, after all, had always been the sky.

    Hawkkit allowed her gaze to wander around camp as she exited the nursery. A glimpse of white in the corner of her vision drew her gaze, and she found herself staring at a cat that she couldn't recall ever having seen before; one that she couldn't place a name to. She watched him for a while--Hawkkit had always been known for staring. Her gaze was filled with vague interest--not the look of endless wonder that many kits tended to throw around; but rather, a look of subtle intrigue. She studied him for a few more moments before looking away, turning her gaze back to Shadowstar.

    Pepperedstep let out a low growl, watchful gaze continuously prowling their surroundings.

    "Go and get the others? So that they, too, can mock me for scenting invisible cats?" He reeled on Stripedtail, eyes alight with annoyance. Surely, Stripedtail could smell what he was scenting? Surely, the younger cat picked up on the ominous feeling that the senior warrior felt? Perhaps Pepperedstep was losing his senses; if that were the case, however, he would be smelling nothing at all. No, there was something sharp in the air--something strong. But if Stripedtail couldn't sense it, then there was no point in prolonging the confrontation. He would return on his own at a later time.

    "I do not make things up, warrior. And I do not make mistakes. But do as you will," Pepperedstep growled, shouldering past Stripedtail and heading back into the thick of the forest. "Go, then, and find the others, if that is what you wish to do. If none of you, as the protectors of Emberclan, can pick up on the looming threat of danger, then we are all truly lost." Pepperedstep slowly made his way into the brush, tail sweeping up leaves behind him.

  • OOC: Maybe there can be a prophecy and it could be about Honeydapple's kits? I need to start makeing profiles for them and getting come of you guys to probably adopt some of them?

    Lionfang gathered all his prey that he had caught and started to walk towards camp when he heard the two cats. "Whats wrong Pepperstep?" the large tom meowed as he walked over to him.

    Honeydapple woke up from her nap, she stretched her paws and parted her maw to let out a yawn.

  • occ: and i like the idea with pepperedstep, but it's all up to fawkes. do we even have like a medicine cat to do forbidden love with? Unless we do the rogue and a cat. I'd also like to make Bliz remember his past so he isn't even toward the end- and by the end i mean the end of his life, so it'd make it interesting, I think, If a female cat that wasn't evil who loved him fought him and put an end to his life and he loved her too and then he like woke up last second and then death and then yay depression, and Prophecy sounds nice, oh and bliz could love like hawk when he's evil, and perhaps the one that loves bliz that's good could be one of honeydapple's kits? and hyper stabs where's your fourm where is it

    ic: Blizzardpaw whipped his head around when he felt a gaze tearing into his pelt. When he spotted no one the tom was a bit disgruntled. The apprentice headed off away from the fresh-kill pile, loosing his appetite after that bird-brained Sootskies spilled fish water all over him. Why didn't he give her a piece of his mind? Blizzardpaw huffed in unsatisfaction as he headed toward a sunny part of camp. The snow bengal lay down in it, and even though he could spend a whole day there, only his black stripes would grow warm.

    Silvershadow trudged through the forest, dragging along a plump rabbit and two small mice. She had been out hunting--or, rather, stalling the inevitable--from sunrise to sunset. It was time to return and face Shadowstar. She felt somewhat ashamed of herself, running from her responsibilities in order to avoid retribution. Even so, she tried to console herself with the fact that Shadowstar couldn't be as disappointed or angry with her as he might have been had she returned earlier. After all, he's had an entire day to cool off. Still, as much as she tried to convince herself, she knew that she was only feeding herself utter fox-dung. In fact, Shadowstar would probably be even more furious than before, even more upset than he would have been had she simply shown up hours before.

    "If you weren't such a sourpuss, I wouldn't have had to run from you all day," she muttered under her breath, trying to place the fault on Shadowstar. However, she was more annoyed at herself than anything.

    Pepperedstep continued to pad in the direction of camp, sparing a momentary glance in Lionfang's direction as the cat fell into step beside him. He looked away, continuing onward.

    "I sense that there is an unwanted presence nearby," he mumbled, his tone gruff. His voice hinted at exhaustion. He was a very large cat, and burned off energy considerably quickly. That, combined with the fact that he wasn't exactly in his prime, made him tire easily. He hadn't been out for very long, but his sprint through the forest had already caused an ache to set into his bones, as well as the few times he'd stopped to hunt on the way back. Quite frankly, his paws wouldn't carry him for much longer. He seemed considerably less intimidating when weariness etched his features; however, he didn't let his guard down any less.

    "But it would seem that my instincts are...misguided," he went on. "According to Stripedtail, at least. If you wish to verify whether or not there truly is something amiss, then I would advise that you find him. Otherwise, there is nothing more to discuss." With that, he padded onward.

  • Occ: How would bliz be exiled? I feel like he wouldn't do anything too drastic to be exiled simply because he's more of just trying to impress an invisible cat making him arrogant. And I don't know if you guys read his fourm, but when he was a kit he was nice and like the opposite of himself now, but brave of course, so he's basically turning into his father, laughs. so right before he dies I want him to be like awake from his dark side or whatever, and have like random moments of repent and pitty

  • Occ: meh, I'm not sure about the exiling thing, but if necessary then framing would be the best idea. Sorry for lack of roleplay at the moment, I'm like juggling multiple threads.

  • { if you don't like it, we can trash it. just tossing around ideas~ i know the feeling. }

  • OOC: hay guys, I put three kits of Honeydapple's kits for adoption on the sign in forum.

    Lionfang watched the warrior leave and turned his head to where the cat stood. Lionfang parted his maw and smelt the air for anything. Lionfang shook his head and went to the areas that he dug up his prey and started to head back to camp.

    Honeydapple nodded her head as she past Shadowstar and Hawkkit to excuse her as she entered to nursery. She curled up on her bedding and watched out from the entrance.

  • OOC: Hey guys! Since alot of the plot stuff and talking has kinda clogged up this rp thread I made a chat thread for you guys :) here it is: http://warriorcatsrpg.com/index.php?topic=1568797.new#new . Also for the plot ideas I am going to put up a poll and you guys can vote :) Also al - oops sorry, i just realized that i forgot to make shadow talk again after going outside.... :o

    IC: Giving Honeydapple a brief nod, Shadowstar sat down on his haunches, curling his tail neatly over his paws. "Hawkkit, you're reaching the age of six moons. Traditionally in clans, when kits turn six moons old they become apprentices and begin to learn the ways of a warrior under the guidance of an older cat, who will act as their mentor." he began, Shadowstar was elaborating more that he normally would for a kit because he knew the Hawkkit was not clan-born. "Generally I don't do this with kits, but you have proven yourself to be...different from the others. Who would you like to have as a mentor. Remember, you may not get who you choose, I am just willing to consider your input."

    ...

    Stripetail opened his jaws immediately to apologize to the older tom but before he could say anything Pepperedstep was off again. Stripetail lept after his clanmate, catching up to him just as Pepperedstep caught up with Lionfang. "I wasn't trying to make fun of you Pepperedstep!" he attempted to apologize, "I just -" he was cut of as they reached camp and the older tom was out of ear reach.

    Padding next to Lionfang he looked over at the other tom, "Was it just me or was there nothing in the air?" he inquired softly, so Pepperedstep wouldn't overhear their conversation.

  • Blizzardpaw's ebony ears flicked back. He had been listening in on the conversation. Why did Hawkkit get to choose her mentor? He didn't get to choose his. Blizzardpaw's icy glare scorched the ground as he kept his left ear directed to them. He didn't want to miss what happened next.

  • Lionfang padded along side Stripetail and shook his head.
    "No, I didn't scent anything...." Lionfang whispered to Stripetail.
    Lionfang set down his maw full of prey onto the fresh kill pile which was a lot bigger now that they went hunting.

  • Stripetail bobbed his head in agreement. "That's what I thought, but what if Pepperedstep is right? Should we tell Shadowstar about this?" he fretted. While Stripetail was absolutely sure that he hadn't scented anything he was confident in Pepperedstep's abilities and knew that the old tom wasn't that crazy. Being the new warrior that he was, Stripetail preferred to have the advice of another warrior before he did anything.

  • Sootskies eyed Blizzardpaw from afar. The ebony fae remembered when he was a kit- much kinder and gentler. The tom seemed now to be the opposite of his former self. Sootskies disgustedly hissed, almost silently. The feline watched him bite back a snarl before twitching his ear to hear more of a conversation. It took the feline a few seconds to put together the pieces that Blizzardpaw was indeed curious as to what Hawkkit and Shadowstar were speaking about. A twinge of anger flared in her stomach as she remembered the earlier circumstances of where the kit seemed like she was taking advantage of her. It was most likely in Sootskies imagination but there was something off about both Blizzardpaw and Hawkkit. At least Blizzardpaw seemed like he was unhappy with her at the moment. Believe it or not that could be a good thing. Sootskies twitched her whiskers before lifting her agile frame off the dirty ground. Her small pads gritted against the ground as she headed toward the other side of camp. It was sunnier toward the entrance, so Sootskies decided to sit there.

  • Lionfang paused then nodded. "That might be a good idea, just in case if he is right" meowed Lionfang
    "It's safer that way....".

    Honeydapple the newly stocked freshkill whiffed past her nose. She exited the nursery and looked at the pile then back to the two warriors and smiled sweetly.
    "You guys did great! The pile is so big!" Honeydapple meowed.

    Lionfang dipped his head towards the queen. "Thank you Honeydapple, make sure you have a piece......how are you?" he meowed and looked at Honeydapple's swollen tummy.

  • Stripetail nodded in agreement. "We'll tell him later." he decided, about to continue discussing the matter when Honeydapple arrived. Stripetail looked down at his paws when Honeydapple mentioned the fresh-kill pile, caught up with all the Pepperedstep madness he had forgotten to hunt for his clan. Irratated with himself he decided to go out later.

    Stripetail grinned at the queen, "Hey, are you excited for the kits?" he meowed, wanting to start a conversation. Out of the corner of his eye though he could feel the presence of Blizzardpaw, he was the deupty's apprentice. Stripetail personally liked Silvershadow, she was amiable enough, but there was something about Blizzardpaw that bothered him.
