  • [align=center][I apologize. Rayk isn't my strongest muse right now, like seriously, everything I"ve been writing for Rayk has been put on the backburner because I seriously can not focus enough with him to write anything decent. I've been waiting to get some muse for him. Why do I always have more muse for others? Eh. Okay I'm doin' this to help boost spirits I hope.]

    Rayk[

When I woke up, I hadn't even been aware I'd fallen unconscious.
I was staring up into the sky, apparently, and I could feel my limbs come back to life - very, very painfully.
As I sat up, I groaned loudly, and immediately regretted it. I didnt' feel anything around me - though when I inhaled, the air smelled... cleaner, somehow. Like it was untainted. Fresh. Not clogged and thick like it had when I'd seen Crystal. That was sort of strange, but I'd have to live with it.
Sitting up, my sides protested, and the muscles in my shoulders spasmed. My wings felt crunched, and I could see the broken feather shafts on theg round next to me. Without another look, I turned around slowly, ignoring the woozy feeling that came with sittin gup far too fast.
When I caught sight of her, she was on her stomach, curled into a fetal position, looking half-dead.
Half-crawling, half-shuffling towards her, I stretched out a shaky hand to touch her hand, tense in case of resistance.
    "Crystal...? Can you hear me...?"

Something stirred within and I felt that fluttery, hazy feeling fill my limbs. I was waking up, and it took me a minute to recall why I was knocked out.
    Oh.
    OH.
I shot up, scrambling away from Rayk, a wave of dizziness and weakness shooting over me, so I braced my hands against the grass, a cough shaking me. A few small black wisps drifted from my mouth as I did so, and my hands were still stained murky grey as leftovers. I jerked my face towards the ground, hand slapping over my mouth and the other tucking under my shirt.
I took a deep breath, got to my feet away from Rayk, wobbling. I was wiped, I felt like I could fall over any second. Taking a moment to make sure I could keep my balance, I glanced around. It felt different somehow. Brighter, clearer air. The middle of nowhere? No, I could hear people nearby. But it was quieter than the usual city. Small town maybe?
Taking another breath, I turned to face Rayk, hands shoved carefully in my pockets. I had teleported myself or small items before in small distances, once or twice a mile or two. But nothing like this. We had to be farther away from home than that. That's ok. We'd just. We'd just fly back.
I didn't have energy to fly back.
    We'd figure out something.
    A bus.
A bus would be too much.
    We'd wait it out then.
Avoiding his eyes, I cleared my throat.
    "D-Did I- .... Did I hurt you?"

Seeing she was at least conscious, and not worse, I turned over on back, laying flat on the ground. Call me crazy, but I liked to breathe, and my chest ached like someone had hit me in the diaphragm. When Crystal asked the question, I turned my head slightly to see her standing with her hands shoved in her pockets.
Weird, but not enough for me to call her out on it.
"Nah. I'm fine. Tired. Dizzy. But fine. What about you? Are you alright?"
I didn't add something like, 'do you know where we are?' because i figured she'd already dealt with enough crap today. I didn't even know what had happened or anything, but I knew we were someplace else, and I knew that I had a headache, and I also knew that I felt naked without shadows around us.
It was too sunny to gather any - at least in this weird forest where sun broke through the leaves without a problem - unlike the forest we were in.
I had a feeling Crystal's black energy stuff did this. I wanted to ask her about it badly, but kept it to myself.
I felt a quick burst of irritation. 'Keeping it to myself' tended to sum up the entire problem right now.
Mainly for Crystal, but I had issues with that too.
Urghhh. I sat up - this time slowly.
I didn't like sitting up very much. I'd prefer to lay down and sleep a week or so, but Crystal was too jumpy to do anything about, and I didn't know how to deal with that. I was bad at dealing with people. At this point it was just a fact of life.

I hunched over even farther. "Um. F-Fine. It's fine. Let's just... figure out where we are." He didn't look very ok and I wanted to apologize a million and a half times but... I don't know, I didn't want to make things even more awkward then they seemed to be at the moment.
Suddenly, BEN spun into existence, wobbly and flickering.
"Woah, Crys, that was a woozy, even worse than usual-" He cut off upon seeing Rayk, seeming to solidify a bit. "I-I mean, not that it's usual, like, woah, what even just happened, like, wow, explosions like that never happen, ha ha ha... Ha...."
I sighed, rubbing my face. "BEN, shut up. Please."
"WOAH, you- you said please! Wow, you must be serious, I mean- right- uh, uh- shutting up now."
"Like I said before..." I started walking, staggering slightly. Ugh. My legs were like noodles. Overly cooked noodles. "Let's just figure out where we are. If we head towards the sound of people, we can probably ask." I muttered under my breath, "Can't be too far, maybe a state or several cities or something... Never gone more than a mile or two...."
