Spirit flew backward from the power of the shot, crashing onto the floor the next moment. She literally wasn't moving a single muscle after the landing, her whole body seemed to be covered in burn marks.
"Oh, no," Tide whined softly. "That didn't sound good."
"Of all the rotten-" Rock stumbled over to her side and pulled her closer to him. "C'mon, Spirit! You're made of tougher stuff than that; wake up!"
"Now it's quiet. That's never a good sign." Aurora frowned, worrying.
Spirit laid in silence, not coming awake yet, yet she almost seemed dead.
Tide put his hands over his face. "I think someone got hurt.. this isn't good.."
"Spirit, come on! Wake up!" Rock's voice was hoarse, and his side ached from the blast he had recieved. But it was nothing compared to what had been done to Spirit. "Don't go yet. I haven't even gotten a chance to apologize," he growled, trying to keep his emotions in check.
"Oh no." Aurora brought her knees to her chest, a feeling of dread choking her.
Spirit finally had woken up, her eyes opening slightly. She whined in pain when she tried to move. "Rock.."
Tide sat with his head in his head in his palms, sighing deeply.
Rock let out a sigh of relief. "Don't worry, Spirit. I'll get you back to where it's safe." He gently scooped her up, trying not to put too much pressure on anything.
Spirit softly whimpered when she was picked up, and softly closed her eyes. It felt nice being carried, she had to admit.
The robots charged once more. But Rock was ready. With a mighty leap, he sprang onto their heads and started to run on top of them, jumping from head to head.
"Ooh. Wait. The noise is back."
Spirit laid limp, eyes closed.
"I heard it." Tide says, ears risen.
"Let him go." Mecha's voice crackled through the speakers. "They are not escaping anyway."
Rock indeed wasn't planning to escape, not with Spirit in her condition. He hopped back through the ceiling, it closing behind him. He planned to land on his feet but his side betrayed him, causing him to crumple sideways.
Violet yelped and rushed to his side, holding him up with an arm. "You were making thunder up there!' She grinned, but it quickly vanished when she saw Spirit. "Oh, no!!"
Spirit mumbled something before opening her eyes again. "Guys.. " she muttered weakly.
"Don't try to talk. You'll only hurt yourself more." Tide tells her softly.
Rock grimly looked down, a good excuse for not looking at anyone else.
"Yeah, save your energy," Violet chimed in. "We can't have you conking out on us in the middle of Mecha's lair."
Tide deeply sighed. "What do we do?" he asked, looking down at her.
"Be right back!" Violet was gone in a flash.
Aurora looked up. "Where'd she go?"
"Who knows." Tide murmured in distress, watching her run off.
Violet was back in a few minutes. "All robots broken down and accounted for. You're welcome," She said, dusting her hands off.
"So can we get out?" Tide asked her, giving her a skeptical look.
"Well she left the ceiling open." Violet pointed up. "But should we really leave with Spirit injured like this?"
"Well how else are we going to heal her, just wait for her to magically recover as we sit and wait here?"
"Well so-ory! I just didn't think she'd want to be moved too much, that's all." Violet huffed.
