An infectious disease has spread over the entire world. The living have either been consumed by the infection or gone insane to try to survive, find a cure, or wipe out all infected and living that haven't been scanned. A group of people called Hunters are blood thirsty murderers. If they come across any survivors they will kill them and use machetes to cut them into pieces. A group of people trying to find a cure are called the Fireflies. They will do anything in their power to try and find a way to cure man kind. And last but not least there is the military. Soldiers who hunt down the remaining living to scan and put into quarantine zones. The zones contain small homes for survivors and ration lines. You can only get rations if you have ration cards. Then you have people who aren't a part of any group in particular. They strive to survive on their own dodging both the infected and the living. There are four types of infected. Bloaters, Clickers, Stalkers, and Runners.

Bloaters are the most dangerous of all infected. They are huge and their entire bodies are covered in the infection. They have an outer shell that takes a lot to penetrate. Fire being their main weakness.
Clickers are blinded by the amount of infection that has grown on their face. They obviously click continuously and there is no way to not know they are there.
Runners are the newly infected that will stand still and it will seem as if they are crying. They scream on occasions and if they see living they will run towards them in a flurry of claws and teeth.
Stalkers will hide in dark places. If found they will follow you through the shadows until they find a perfect time to attack. By then you have no chance of survival.

Other:Is immune to the infection. She was in a quarantine zone when her friend Riley came to visit. They left to spend some time together, but were attacked. Both were bitten by infected, but only Riley died. That's when Ellie found out she was immune. She then went to join the Fireflies where Marlene took care of her. Ellie was then to be smuggled into the city with two outsiders Joel and Tess. While on their journey they were being scanned by the military when they found out that Ellie had been bitten. She then proceeded to tell them how she was immune. Later Tess was bitten, but chose to be killed by the military instead of turning. Then it was only Joel and Ellie left. Along the way they had run into some hunters and soldiers causing them to hide in a room. When they entered the room two outsiders had attacked them. Only when Joel almost killed one did Ellie realize that they weren't the bad guys. It was a man who looked about 25 and his younger brother who was only a couple months younger than Ellie. Henry and Sam. They were also looking for the Fireflies. After they all got used to eachother, they were attacked by some hunters. They did escape, but a horde of infected attacked them immediately after. In all of the action they attempt to run to their destination. They had made it. While Joel and Henry bonded for a little while, Ellie went to talk to Sam who seemed to be acting differently. When morning came Ellie went to wake Sam for breakfast. When she did he had attacked her. He was turning into one of the infected. He was bitten when the horde attacked them. Joel attempted to kill Sam so he wouldn't hurt Ellie, but Henry wouldn't let him. Finally Henry shot Sam himself and driven mad by grief he had shot himself. Skipping a couple of parts Ellie and Joel finally made it to the Fireflies and it turned out they had to kill Ellie to get the cure. That's when they put her under for the surgery...

Other:When the infection first began in an effort to escape infected his daughter Sarah was shot by a man who had joined the military....When Ellie was under Joel had escaped with her. He made it down the entire hospital to the garage where the only thing standing between them and escaping was Marlene. Joel shot her twice in the stomach and put Ellie in the car. He then went back to Marlene where she begged for her life, but instead of showing mercy he shot her in the head claiming she would just come after Ellie. When Ellie had awoken she asked what happened. Instead of Joel telling the truth he told her how there were tons of immune people and they couldn't find a cure so they gave up. And that's where I'm coming in....
