  • A large black and white tom trotted behind a large dumpster. He found what he was looking for. A small tattered pink rug. Atleast, that's what it used to be. It was so dirty it was very hard to tell what it's original color was, and it was practically in shreds. But the dumpster lid folded back behind it, creating a make-shift roof. And it also provided food, what was to be called food anyway. And if nothing was fresh, there were plenty of rats to eat. Yeah, this place would make an alright home. The rug did have a cat scent on it, but it was stale. Chances are, the cat is probably dead. Felix looked around, there it was. A plump juice rat. It didn't appear to have any diseases or anything nasty. Felix had rabies once. And it sucked, he was only a kittypet then, his faithful twolegs took him to the "vet" and eventually he ended up alright.
The rat was heading toward the dumpster, he sprang without even crouching, so his jump was kind of sloppy. But what did it matter? As long as he got food right? He knew that crouching would help his chances of catching dinner, but there was no time to get into the right position. He landed inches from the rat, barely missing it. His claws tore desperately at the the rodents body, finally landing the killing blow. "That was such a messy kill." He muttered angrily at himself, he had been at the pound for so long he had lost his touch. But at least he got dinner. He picked up his prize and went back to his temporary home. He chewed satisfied. By the looks of it, today was going to be a good day.
