  • "Stay still." The wolf whispered. "Mistik needs to examine you." Indeed. The wolf was waiting patiently off to the side with a pile of plants at his feet as he waited to look at the hurt wolf.

  • Exausted, but unwilling to possibly return to her nightmare, she lay still, inwardly shivering. She glanced at the kind faced healer and relaxed just the tiniest bit. She was in good paws.

  • Moakier backed away from her and let Mistik take her place by Saroke side, though she stayed close by. The great wolf said nothing as he looked over her; nodding occasionally to himself or mumbling a few herb names under is breath. Eventually he reached to the pile of objects next to him and placed two small but sturdy sticks on either side of her paw and tied them together with ivy so it could act as a splint. "There." He said finally and stepped back. "Just stay here and keep off of it."
"Mistik." Moakier said behind him. "I need to talk to you." The two wolves headed out of the cave, their voice low. A wolf slipped in after they had disappeared. It was Vir, his broad shoulders dappled with light as the giant wolf walked through the fireflies towards Saroke.

  • Saroke sighed and smiled at Vir as he stepped in. "How's your cut?" She asked, happy that she could talk to someone instead of being alone. But she also wondered, why wasn't he with Cist like Moakier said he would be?

  • Vir smiled as he sat down next to her. He shrugged at her question. "Eh." He said lightly though a smile still played on his lips. "Stings like a bee, but I've had worse." He tilted his head to indicate her paw as he talked. "What happened? I saw you were favoring it when you were at the meeting. Was it like that for long?"

  • Saroke gave him a shaky laugh and replied "Since the attack, and it only got worse... but thankfully now it will have a chance to heal." Saroke paused, unsure of what to say next. "What brings you to this side of the, erm, cave?"

  • Vir's left ear twitched in embarrassment, the only sign that he wasn't cool and collected like his older brother. "I wanted to see you." He admitted, not wanting to lie.

  • A happy giddyness spread through her, and she smiled. "Well, I'm happy that someone here besides Moakier doesn't hate me." She smiled again and wiggled a bit to make room on her soft bed of moss.

  • Vir smiled and laid down, pressing his dark brown pelt against hers. "Oh, not all of us hate you. Cist likes you and Fickin's pretty fond of you. And Tonnan is too. It's strange. She and her brother usually feel the same way about things even though they're complete opposites. But you... you've changed that." Vir tilted his head to the side, his amber eyes gleaming.
"What's it like outside the Mountains?" He asked her curiously.

  • Well, it depends on how far away you go. There are forests that teem with animals, and rolling hills filled with tall grass. Far, far away, I heard that there is a water that stretch forever. What is it like here, in the mountans?" She asked, then added, "and what are the names of all the clan members?"

  • Vir took a deep breath as he listened to her words, imagining everything in his minds eye. He blinked and thought as he digested her questions. "Well.." He began slowly. "The mountain is big. So big, that it is thought to lead straight to the den of the Sky Mother. Only the spirits of our deceased are allowed to climb up to it though. There are many wonders in our Mountain. Caves with hidden forests, waterfalls of the red liquid that lights our cave. Places where animals live in tranquility." He sighed as he thought of the places he loved to see and explore. "Once you can walk, I'll take you." He promised.
"And the wolves...hm. Lets start with the mothers. There's Ting Kind-Heart. She's the oldest mother, and she's had four litters, twelve pups in total. Right now, she's taking care of her daughters Min and Mon. Then there's Moth and her pup-" Vir suddenly broke off and dipped his head, his eyes glistening with sadness. "Never mind." He said sadly before coughing. "Um... there' Ying, she's expecting." He continued to list names off, some having add on's like his own such as 'Mink Long-Walk' and 'Gin Night-Eyes'.

  • Saroke interrupted. "Would you really do that, I mean, take me through the mountain? That'd be wonderful! She smiled and rubbed her cheek on his shoulder. She then sighed as her stomach rumbled and said "is there any way I can help from in here?" She flicked her ears at the ceiling.

  • "Of course I would." He said flippantly, like it should have been obvious though his gleaming eyes showed he wasn't trying to be mean, and he was only kidding. "You'll be staying with us for a while, so you should know the layout. Plus, it'd be nice to spend some time with you." He said, and he flushed though his fur hid it.

  • Saroke smiled at him and scooted just a bit closer. "That would be amazing. " She rested her head on his shoulder and said "you know, I am going to be happy here." Especially if you stay, she added in her mind.

  • Vir rested his cheek on top her head gently, letting out a silent sigh of contentment. "That's good. You should be happy here."
Two voices suddenly began to grow louder and Vir pricked his ear as Mistik and Moakier walked back in. They halted in their tracks when they caught sight of the two though Moakier looked more pleased than shocked, unlike the dumbfounded Mistik.

  • Saroke nearly scrambled to her paws when she remembered that she wasn't supposed to be moving it. She whispered to Vir "I will see you later, ok? Like, later tonight?"

  • Vir nodded, his ears twitching in embarrassment. He gave Saroke a sheepish smile before getting to his paws. He gave Mistik and Moakier polite and respectful nods as he padded away, giving Saroke one backwards glance.
Moakier strode over with a smug smile on her face. "I knew he liked you." She crowed triumphantly.

  • Saroke sighed and said "how much, though?" quietly, as if she were nervous to say it. "What do you want me to do, Moakier?" She thought a moment and then said " what do you know of this amulet of austin?" She gestured at the empty moss beside her, already missing the warm firmness of Vir's pelt.

  • "Oh, trust me." She said with a laugh as she sat next to Saroke. "Vir likes you. Ya know, I've known him since we were pups. This is the first time I've ever seen him like a she-wolf. He's always been more for goofing off and adventuring then settling down and finding a mate. So this is a good thing. He's a very loyal wolf, so I don't think you have anything to worry about anytime soon.
"And I'm sorry, but I don't know anything more about more about Dastin's Amulet except for what was said during the meeting."

  • Saroke thought about this for a moment before she turned to look sideways at Moakier. "I know that I said that I would hunt for myself, but I kinda can't get around with this on..." she twitched her paw and then continued "do you think that, until i can hunt again, that you could get me something to eat? - only after everyone else has, and, of course, you aren't busy..."
