  • A young kittypet peacefully sat upon the fence of her owner's yard. Her well-groomed silver tabby fur glinted in the light of the setting sun. She didn't know why her thoughts kept traveling back to that day. The one full of fire and flying and monsters and adventurers and friends, the single day in another world. She had treasured that memory ever since she had arrived back home. She was glad to have experienced something so surreal, but... did it ever really happen?

Feather had to admit, it was far more likely that something like that was just a dream. She was no realist, by any means, but even she found it hard to believe. It was much more likely that the superpowers and the other world... and Ash... were all just figments of her imagination. What bugged her, though, was that she had never dreamt that vividly before. And with all her heart, she wanted that day to be real, but her mind told her otherwise.

Her face locked in a scowl, Feather jumped back down into her yard, too absorbed in her thoughts to notice any other cats that could have been approaching.

  • A calico tom quietly emerged from the forest a few fox lengths away from the long line of two-leg buildings. He quietly sniffed around when he noticed a vivid scent. "Feather?" He silently asked himself, he then stalked towards the building ahead and noticed the silver tabby in the yard. "Feather?" He called, loud enough for her to hear but quiet enough for her owners to stay unaware. "Is that you?"

  • (YEEESSS! Made it work! ;D Sorry 'bout that, again.)

Feather tilted her head, hearing her name. Were her housefolk calling her? She hoped they wouldn't mind her ignoring them, she really wasn't hungry, and the youngest child liked to pull her tail. Normally she could live with it; the Mother always stopped and scolded him, but she wasn't in a patient mood tonight.

The voice kept talking, though, and the silver tabby almost recognised it. "Is it... me? Who're you?" She questioned, hopping back onto her fence again. Then she saw the calico again, and she broke out into a grin. Feather leapt down from the wooden fence, beaming as she darted towards her friend. "Ash! You're here! You exist! It really happened! We weren't sent to opposite sides of the world!" She cheered, trying to get her thoughts in order. She laughed, she hadn't seen this coming. "It's great to see you again!"

  • "It is also great to see you too, Feather!" The calico grinned, lightly touching her shoulder with his nose in greeting. "It's so great to see you again!" He gave his tail a flick and brushed his cheek against hers in another greeting.

  • The feline just nodded, still trying to sort out her thoughts. She didn't have the words after her little outburst; if Ash was here, everything was real. She had actually flown in the sky and breathed fire... it was a bit surreal to the kittypet.

"Didn't think I'd see you again, Ash." She chuckled nervously. "To be honest... I sort of doubted that you existed for a while there." Hopefully before things could get too awkward, Feather perked up again. "So... What've you been up to? Since we made it back and all?"

  • "Well, I have been enjoying life and stuff. Decided to come and look for ya'." He smiled, giving his fur a fluff.

  • The kittypet grinned in return. "Well, thanks! Looks like you found me." She mewed. "I haven't really been up to much since I got back either. Except that time I went to a carnival and traumatized myself over a cheap piece of plastic..." Feather scowled; that memory still made her feel stupid. "Er, anyways. Are we going to sit around all night? Why don't we celebrate or something?"

  • "I suggest that we visit that gathering thing the clan cats do every-so-often, or maybe we can celebrate in your two-leg nest." He tilted his head to get a better view of the house behind her, noticing one passing the window.

  • "Hmm. If you want to come to my place, just be careful of the youngest housefolk. The Mother always tells him not to, but he likes to pull on my tail. He might go after you, too." Feather let out an angry sigh; she wasn't in a very patient mood tonight. "But meeting up with some clan cats might be fun. Or maybe we could explore the city? It's a little embarrassing to admit, but I've never went farther then that wealthy block nearby."

  • He flicked his stub-of a tail, "well… My tail got chopped by a butcher in the mountains." He sighed, "but I am tired from my long trek."

  • The silver tabby recoiled. How didn't I notice that?! She wondered. She suddenly felt a bit guilty, he had mentioned mountains? How far had he gone trying to find her? "We can go in my house, then. I'm not in the most patient of moods, but I can keep the kit from bothering you too much." She put on a sly smile, chuckling as she spoke. "The Father doesn't seem to mind when I bring friends over, so long as nothing gets broken. So... you want to come? It wouldn't be a very long walk." She remarked with a glance back at the door.

  • "OK, but I think I can handle whatever is dished out to me." The calico tom then gestured for her to lead the way. Ignoring the slight chill the outdoors made.

  • "Alright." Feather mewed hurriedly, leaping back over the fence. She approached her house and nudged open a small cat door, motioning for Ash to follow.

  • Ash jumped onto the fence, after a brief moment of looking around, he launched himself off the fence and onto the soft grass. The calico nodded to the she-cat and waited for her to go in first.

  • Feather slipped through the cat door, entering her house. The brightly lighted building contrasted the darker view outside, making the silver tabby squint as her eyes adjusted. She could hear the happy mews of her housefolk as they sat around a table. "C'mon, Ash!" She called. "This place isn't much, but it's home."

  • Ash slowly pushed through the cat door, almost getting stuck by its small size but he managed to get through. He then winced slightly as one tried to pet him. He recoiled back and went to hide under the couch.

  • "You okay, Ash?" Feather wondered, frowning as the calico hide by the couch. Any other day, she probably would've started teasing him about it. Tonight, though... well, that missing tail was worrying her. "Most of 'em are pretty nice. I wouldn't stay here if they were like the butcher-jerk, I can promise that."

  • Ash looked at the she-cat. "I'm not used to them yet," he whispered to her and sunk deeper into the darkness as they reached for him. "Stop, stop, stop." He simply said to them but batted their hand with his paw, claws sheathed.

  • Once more, a sarcastic comment stung Feather's tongue, and it took most of her willpower to hold it back. Something about how she was bailing him out of something five minutes after their reunion. Still, she could sort of tell that this wasn't the time.

The small feline approached the child before she could make a big fuss over Ash batting her hand. She nudged the girl's leg and let the housefolk pet her instead, slowly leading the child away from the couch. This girl was nicer then her younger brother, and the kittypet enjoyed spending time with her. Normally she would've, anyways, she had more important things to attend to right now. After a minute, she padded away from the girl, who returned to the table with her parents and younger brother.

"Better?" She asked the loner gently, once more using all her willpower not to act snarky.

  • He nodded, slowly coming out of under the couch. He yawned and stood beside her, keeping his tail out of sight.
