When Applejack, a 'stallion kind of mare', develops feelings for Fluttershy, she decides to hang out with Fluttershy one night and get it all over with, not knowing that the pink-maned pegasus may have the same feelings for her.

Applejack was dressed in a wedding gown decorated with small orange roses, slightly darker than her orange coat, in the Canterlot wedding hall, where there were all sorts of delicious foods decorating the tables on either side of the hall, not to mention the rows upon rows of ponies watching her and her soon-to-be bride.

"And do you, Applejack, take this mare to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The priest asked Applejack, who, although wasn't looking at the priest, soaked in every word he uttered. Staring into the cyan eyes of her beloved, she said the two words that they had been waiting to say since their first date together.

"Ah do."

The smile of the gorgeous pink-maned pegasus seemed to grow wider as Applejack announced those words, because she knew that she was the one for Applejack.

She was Fluttershy.

"You may now kiss the bride." Closing her eyes, she leaned in for a passionate kiss, her heart pounding against her chest with excitement.

Before long, Applejack realized that she was kissing the early morning air in her bedroom. She opened her eyes and looked out her window. It was still dark outside, and almost completely silent, save for a few birds who woke up early as well. She rubbed her eyes and slid out of bed, exiting her room and trotting tiredly to the living room of the barn house.

While looking for something to eat, she debated, in her mind, about the strange dream she had. Why am I always dreaming about her, she wondered. She's just a friend of mine. A beautiful, kind, loving, passionate... friend.

Quitting her search for breakfast, she sat on a chair in front of a table, resting her head on her hooves. She knew that she shouldn't make a big deal out of a simple wet dream, but a mare loving a mare was a bit unusual to her. She had always preferred stallions over mares, always looking for a handsome stallion to hang out with on Hearts and Hooves day or at the local diner.

"Ain't it a bit too early for you to be up, Applejack? What's wrong?"

Applejack was so lost in her thoughts, she didn't notice Big Macintosh trotting up to her. "Oh, Ah was just thinking. Sorry to wake you up," she added.

"It's alright, Ah need to geddup early anyways." Big Mac trotted slowly to the kitchen. "What were you thinking about?"

Applejack's eyes darted from left to right; she needed to think up of something without actually lying. "Oh, just a friend of mine." Not thinking about what she was saying, she added, "Big Mac, what would you do if, let's say, one of your friends had a crush on another pony, but didn't like admitting it?"

Big Mac grunted. "Ah was never the romantic type. Too busy plowing fields, harvesting apples... Ah wouldn't fall in love with another pony unless you had a love potion in hoof," he said, referring to his experience with Miss Cheerilee, the school teacher.

Just like Granny Smith, Applejack thought with an imaginary smile.

"But if that pony asked me for advice, Ah'd say to go wherever direction they choose to go, as long as they end up happy, whether they are with that pony or not."

I suppose that's true, Applejack thought. "Thanks, Big Mac. I'll keep that in mind."

Applejack worked extra hard harvesting apples throughout the morning, thinking that working more and more would keep her mind off of Fluttershy. However, the mare filled her mind as she watched the weather ponies clearing the sky. She didn't realize how long she had been working until the familiar sound of Granny Smith jingling a metal triangle announced that it was lunch time. She had lunch with Granny Smith and Big Macintosh, since Apple Bloom was at school, and ended her work for the day.

As Applejack headed into Ponyville, her stomach growled yet again. What in tarnation? she thought. I thought I already had lunch. I must be hungrier than I thought. She wondered what else to eat as she trotted through town. Maybe I could have a picnic... with Fluttershy... A feeling of comfort filled her senses as she thought of Fluttershy. Having a picnic with Fluttershy seemed perfect. Applejack shook her head. Then again, I could have a picnic with any of my friends, like Twilight or Pinkie Pie. Wouldn't be much different.

That's the last time I skip breakfast, Applejack thought. She had looked through most of the stores in Ponyville, and none seemed to have a meal she wanted to eat. Thoughts of sharing food with Fluttershy popped in her mind again, and she gave up on resisting. It can't be that bad; all I have to do is ask. Fluttershy's probably already eaten, anyways, so I'll just eat with another friend if she's not hungry. She trotted up to Fluttershy's cottage and knocked on the door.

"Oh!" Noticing that Fluttershy was already about to leave, she shifted back slightly. "Didn't see ya there, Fluttershy. Anyways, Ah was just wondering, since you don't seem really busy... do you think we could go eat something together? As friends?" She added in the last part, hoping Fluttershy wouldn't take it the wrong way.

Applejack perked up. "Really? Well, what are we waitin' for? Let's go find something to eat?" Shortly after, she asked, "Er... do you have something we could eat?"

Applejack followed closely behind Fluttershy. Any kind of resistance that came from her in the past vanished into thin air as they trotted to Sweet Apple Acres. When they arrived, Applejack entered the farm house, grabbing some apple pie, apple fritter, apple scones, and other assortments of apple flavored treats the Apple family was famous for.

After gathering enough food, Applejack walked out of the house with a basket in her mouth carrying all of the food. Thinking that Fluttershy was following her, she panicked a little that Fluttershy was nowhere in her sight. Setting the basket on the grass, she called out, "Fluttershy, where'd ya go?" and looked around. She soon spotted Fluttershy playing with her dog Winona, and watched as both of them pounced around. She couldn't help but feel her heart warm a little bit, as if Fluttershy was more cute than she ever thought she was, that she may even be developing a small romantic feeling towards her.
