  • Jade sitting there, waiting for an answer, she was half expecting him to say no, but it still shocked her when he did. Thomas said it so emotionlessly, Jade couldn't help but wonder if maybe she had imagined the connection. Maybe it was just because she felt it so strongly, she thought he must have as well.

Her head started to swim. What else could she do? She had just been brutally rejected by the one person she was sure she cared about deeply. Looking at him still, unsure of what to do, Thomas glanced at her and he seemed to soften. Not knowing whatsoever of what to do, suddenly the boy spoke up and explained how he couldn't explain it at all. He very quickly started to deteriorate emotionally.

Demanding answers, Thomas shook emotionally and physically. "What?! I don't know what to tell you. Goodness, calm down! Are you okay? Back there.. Uh.. I just know that I care about you. A lot. And I know I'm damned confused about how you feel about me." Sitting there, staring at the boy as he started to panic, Jade never knew what to do when someone takes a panic attack. "Shhh, breathe, breathe! Shhhhh.." She outstretched her hand to his shoulder but hesitated before touching him. What does he think of her now? Does he even want her care? Either way, she wanted to comfort him. After a second, Jade rubbed his shoulder in deep thought. Oh, the mess they were in now.

  • // you've been giving me lots of muse, have a little down time, it's relaxing sorta

Thomas pressed the side of his cheek against Jade's hand. Feelings her gentle embrace for the first time seemed to all of a sudden release the heavy blanket coating his heart. All the love-struck pangs people got when they fell head over heels for someone hit him all at once. A quiet, single tear dripped down his cheek, falling onto his partner's hand with one warm, wet drop. Everything made sense but confused him all the more now, and Thomas didn't want to get up to ruin everything.
Jade cared for him, and he her. Thomas was beyond just caring for the girl, he he … "I love you, Jade." The words were not forced, or blunt, or sarcastic, or confused. Thomas had taken a different, unintentional tone on as he admitted this to his partner. The words sounded as easy to say as they has come out. The boy smiled at that release of mingled thoughts and confusion, his feelings were making sense. "I do! I care for you more than 'I love you' can explain, Jade …" Lifting his head from his shoulder and his partner's hand, he turned to face her, his silver eyes gleaming as he now stared at her.
Thomas' stomach dropped, and was lifted up again as he peered into Jade's beautiful greens. This was it. The first time he had stared into her eyes upon knowing exactly how he felt. It was the only loose form of love at first sight he was ever going to experience, so he soaked it up. Thomas wouldn't drop his gaze from hers.

  • // Hah, thanks? :) Is Thomas's eyes green or silver xD because in every post it seems to be different xD

//When he pressed his face to her hand, Jade had a crazy urge to hug him but stopped. He just had a huge panic attack, and she honestly didn't know how he was doing mentally at this point. A single tear crept from his eye and slid onto her hand, and that weirdly felt like a very personal bonding has taken place between them. Thomas suddenly declared his love for her and her heart skipped a beat. Surely she heard him wrong? Never in her wildest dreams could she imagine him actually saying that to her. He then smiled this gorgeous smile that she could only imagine on his face as he's never actually smiled so genuinely for her. Explaining how he loves her, and using her name so wonderfully, it was Jade's turn to let a single tear fall.

Growing up, Jade never really did have that many happy moments. From being raised by a single mom until she was six, when she passed away. The green-eyed girl never knew her father, but by the way her mother had talked about him, she didn't want to. From six and on, Jade was raised by the colony. She hung out with the guys and was raised by the elders. Her teachers were the renowned Rebels and her enemies have always been the city people.

So this.. this single act of declaring love for her, Thomas has single-handedly stole her heart when nobody else could even get close. He sat up and looked in her eyes and it was such an odd feeling to know somebody cared about her that way. Actually truly loved her. She looked deep into his silvery eyes and got lost in their depths. "I love you too.. More than anyone in the world.", was all she was able to get out in a whisper. He was like a Greek God come to Earth, and the odds of him falling for her seemed to be zero. But he did, he loved her, and she couldn't even imagine why, when nobody in her life ever did.

  • // ugh! I know, I made theme silver in the beginning then completely forgot. They. Are. Silver. I PROMISE you this ;) By the way, I may have problems making your order in my shoppe. The computer that I was able to save the pictures I make won't take charge so we can't use it. I'll try again on my computer, but I haven't had luck in the past. It USE to, but … I don't know
And after that novel of OOC all by itself, back to the story.

Thomas' heart skipped a few beats, then started to race. Hearing the words 'I love you' come out of another's mouth, and being directed at him, was way too surreal. His mother was a rough woman, and believed in the strictest form of love -- which means no 'I love you's and no hugs and kisses of reassurance -- Thomas had to go off of his own confidence to convince himself he was worth something, especially when his dad spoke up to him. It was never words of guidance, for even his mother said things out of kindness to guide him, no he was only scolded by his father. Lectures were his pastime. When one dug into his family everything about Thomas and he was would make sense. He had arrogant confidence because he grew up making himself his own person. If he had allowed his parents' parenting to make him who he was going to be, he'd be worse. He wouldn't be capable of love, no matter how impossible it seemed for him to love with who he was now -- it wasn't, as his heart was so desperately telling him.
Well … now that Thomas was a pure rebel he never had to sleep in the same room as his parents again. He could bunk down with his friends, of course he had none, but there were several people he tolerated, and they him, sort of. But that did not matter. He wasn't alone in this great big, rebel-tormenting world. He had Jade, she knew him better than anyone, and she hadn't even known him three nights ago. "Jade," Thomas frowned slightly, his eyes dropping to his broken left arm. "I - I'm not alone anymore …" he caught her green eyes again. "I never want to be alone again …."

    enough with the mushy

"Hey, you two!" the cold cut words of a distant voice rang in Thomas' ears. He didn't realize how worn out and fragile they were from the beast until the police officer blew his whistle, and the sounds vibrated painfully against his eardrum. The dark-haired boy turned to the voice's direction, and saw the man storming up to them full-run, his hands making gestures as if he were sending signals. Sirens started, red, white, and blue lights started flashing, and Thomas rose to his feet wearily. He didn't have much strength left in him to run, but he had to. "Get up-" his words were cut off to his partner with another blow of the whistle. "Run, Jade …" Thomas grasped his broken arm, which hang loosely at his side. "Just run!" He kicked at her leg gently and grabbed the plastic bag full of supplies, before backing up slowly, waiting for her to join him in a wild dash to the wilderness. They couldn't lead the men to Colony, but they had to get away.

  • // Haha okay, silver, I got it xD I'll remind you if you slip up ;)
And don't worry about the order :) It was basically a bump with more effort and love<3 ;D *eh hem* also back to the story..

// Jade was having a perfect moment with Thomas, him telling her that he wasn't alone anymore, and he wasn't - she would always be there for him - and she was just about to reply when a sudden shout from afar sounded alarm bells in her head. It definitely sounded like authority and after a second she clued in and her head snapped in that direction. Seeing the scene fold out in front of her, she stood up and realized Thomas was shouting at her to run. Ashamed of herself usually Jade was the alert one, always paying attention to her surroundings, but this time, she let Thomas down. Anger and adrenaline pushing through her, it was as though she didn't just fight the Leviathan. More like a tiger, which would have been better than the beast in her opinion.

Jade locked her green gaze on Thomas's silver one until they made eye contact. Her eyes would have said, 'to the forest' and the teen was sure he'd understand. The city was smack dab in the middle of the colony and Hope Woods. Horribly named, Hope Woods is more like Death Row. Full of poisonous plants, lethal animals, and tall, dark, looming trees, it's more a place out of a child's nightmare. But, as a child, her mother taught Jade very important ways of survival in the woods. Which, in this situation, was very handy. Also, leading the law the opposite way of the Colony was in her best interests, as well as the chance of shaking the police off their trail as there isn't a definite path and the police surely weren't taught the ins and outs of a forest the way Jade was.

Deciding Hope Forest was the way to go, Jade allowed Thomas to collect the items and she quickly grabbed his arm - the non-broken one. Pulling him beside her as she ran, Jade clung to him like a lifeline, as though if she lost physical touch with him then he would fall behind and get caught and she definitely couldn't risk that. With all the stuff happening tonight, there will definitely be stories told around the fire tomorrow, by the jeez.

  • Hope Forest. Yes, Thomas nodded his silent approval. That was their only option. Heading home had to be shoved way back in his mind, along with his aching broken arm, and his sore muscles. Jade grabbed at his right arm, and ran forward. She might have been too preoccupied to realize how tightly she squeezed, but the boy said nothing. The two of them had just declared their love for each other, there was no way he or she was going to let them out of their sight. His feet barrelled across the city, his silver eyes darkening as he realized that it was near impossible to outrun one of the city's police cars, especially with his overused joints and muscles. The only way for them to get to the city limits safely was to run through alleyways. A car couldn't do that, and the officers wouldn't be able to catch up to the rebels, who had trained for this.

Thomas pointed to an alley, and pulled Jade along with him, for she still held onto his arm. His left arm was tucked under his right armpit, as he tried to steady it enough to lessen the pain, but when he tripped up a little his left arm went flying out as Thomas regained his balance and composure. It sent a series of spiky pain shooting up his arm, Thomas' face went white, but he remained quiet. Pain wouldn't just simply take over him, that was a sign of weakness -- which despite everything Thomas still didn't care for. Halfway into the alley now, Thomas risked a peek behind him. The vehicles had stopped, and men were piling out, taking out their flashlights to join the ones already chasing them by foot. An evil smile spread across the boy's mouth. The authoritative officers had basically just handed freedom to the two rebels on a silver platter. Thomas gave his partner a wink, which had a more charming appeal than it once had. "Now to get to the forest," he whispered, which came out weirdly with his heavy breathing. The plastic bag he had been carrying split open, allowing things to spill out until there was nothing left. Dang it! he hissed to himself, dropping Jade's grip to rid himself of the useless, torn bag. When they did manage to escape the policemen, and they would, they were arrive back at the Colony empty-handed. "We lost all our supplies," he murmured, eyeing his partner annoyingly. He was mad at himself, that much could be known through his dull gaze. Peering backwards, Thomas noticed some of the men had tripped up on the scattered supplies, while others were able to smoothly run around it. At least that helped for some of them to fall back. Making an abrupt turn to the right, Thomas saw the exit of the alley, and made a wild bolt for it. That exit noted the westside of the city, and the forest was only a few paces after.

Having had made it out of the alley, Thomas followed the entirety of the city's wired fence all the way up, trying to decide if he would be able to climb it or not. It really made him feel like an animal knowing that this fence was here to keep him and his people out. The only area where the fence did not reach was main exit of the entire city, where he and Jade had first entered. The only reason the city had an exit was for supplies to come in to keep its residents well fed and well … everything. no one ever moved into the city and no one ever moved from it. It was basically a prison, except no one wanted to leave. Why would they? They led such comfortable, protected lives here. They were basically treated as dependant babies here, pampered just to there liking. Why would they leave? "We have to climb .." Thomas sighed, keeping his head looking forward and he took a quick glance at Jade. Thomas was going to have to climb one-handed cause all the stubbornness in the world wasn't going to make his left arm useable. Shouts were becoming louder, and the bright lights of flashlights were nearing. Pressing his palm against Jade's shoulder for a moment, he gave her a look of reassurance, but it was mainly for himself. The fence was about 10 feet tall, and the wires ware barbed. Spitting on the ground for a final act of defiance and hate towards the city, Thomas placed his right hand on the fence, grasping on tightly, and ignoring the pain that sot through his hand. He started to climb. He kept moving upwards, his arm reaching out, latching on, then his two feet following. It took a lot of physical strength and mental stubbornness to keep him hanging on. He thought of Jade, and his love for her. He thought of the city, and how it treated his rebel family like they were animals, putting up barbed wire fences, and letting loose a large unknown beast. Both of those two things kept him moving upwards, for two very different reasons. Hours seemed to pass, when it was only a few minutes. Thomas had finally reached the very top, and with one final sigh he threw himself over to side, landing with a loud thump! on the opposite side of the fence.

  • //Hahaha that's right, usually I have a crap ton of muse :3 It was a very lovely novel, like always peach<3
And wow, I had a lot more muse than I thought xD It just.. exploded out of me!

//Running closer and closer to the west side of the city, Jade knew they were almost there and a pang of hope actually hit her when suddenly the bag ripped open and every single supply fell out. Hearing those precious medicines hitting the ground was like the sound of the world ending to Jade. That means that after all this, their efforts would be in vain. If she had felt any hope, it was in stark contrast to the disappointment and anger she felt now, though not a single ounce of it was directed to Thomas. It wasn't his fault.

Having no other choice, they continued to run until they reached the end of the alley signaling the end of the city. Hope Forest was right there, an easy sprint for the Rebels but the 10 foot fence was a slight hindrance to their plan. Jade was automatically concerned about Thomas, but he gave a look of reassurance and he started truckin' up the fence. Slow, but somewhat steady, he made it about half-way when the green-eyed girl realized the police were also reaching the end of the alley and she still had to climb the fence. Reaching as high as she could, she hoisted herself up and in a few steps she was equal to where Thomas was. Jade pushed herself over the edge and fell to the ground with Thomas following a second later.

Sitting there, holding her ankle, she definitely landed wrong. When there's really no graceful way to throw yourself off a ten foot fence while being chased by the police, she also didn't have time to think about how to land and she didn't have enough energy to roll. Not knowing the severity of how bad she hurt her ankle, the teen just seen the police start to climb the fence, slower than Thomas did, but she had to get up to run to Hope Forest. Standing up and taking her first step toward Thomas, fire ripped through her ankle and it was like someone kicked her leg out from under her, as she was quickly knocked back to the ground. Cursing under her breath in a hiss, she knew she had to suck it up and deal with it. They did not lose all their supplies and fight the Leviathan just to get caught in the end. Standing up again, the black-haired teen realized her tolerance for weight on her ankle was close to zero.

Another string of profanity left her mouth and she went to stomp her foot in frustration, but quickly deciding against it. She would have to just limp the rest of the way. Having some training as a kid, she knew that she could go pretty fast while not putting much weight on either foot at one time. Perfect in this situation, Jade just didn't know how good she'd be at it now. Either way she'd have to do it and now would be better than later. So turning back to Thomas, she helped him up and practically jumped on one foot on her way to the Forest.

  • Thomas accepted Jade's hand willing, not even thinking for a moment how out of character that was for him. This girl, his partner, was changing him, for the better. Seeing Jade start to hop away on one foot, the boy reached out his good arm, and stopped her at the shoulder. "My turn to help you," he said softly, hooking his right arm to her left. A pang of mental hopelessness surged through him briefly, reminding him of everything that went wrong tonight, telling him how useless he was, and that if anything happened he would not be able to protect the girl he loved.
Thoughts would have to be thoughts, so Thomas just pushed them aside, and started to run, his right arm careful to keep his partner well-balanced. Flashlights were distanced, and the shouts drowned out into the night air. There was some form of pride in this mad sprint for the rebel boy, knowing that highly trained cops couldn't even keep up with two injured 16 year olds. That was a Rebel's pride, one thing Thomas hadn't known to completeness till tonight, when they had beaten a feared beast, and now when they had outran officers. There was no doubt the two teens were safe from be founded, but there was something too special about this moment to stop running. He was hooked arms with his enemy turned friend turned …. love interest, barreling through the night, both of them injured, but both of them hopelessly in love with the other.
But it had to end. Thomas' arm was a constant reminder that he needed help, and Jade's limp was not going to get better as they sprinted. A halt at to be made, and Thomas did that abruptly, nearly falling down at the major loss of velocity. He regained himself, as was his specialty, and he peered over to his partner. "Sit …" he murmured quietly. It sounded like a suggestion for Jade, but it wasn't. A 'no' would not be accepted from him. Bending down to gather up moss that grew on the forest floor, Thomas created a soft cushion for the girl beside him to rest her ankle on. The jump from the ten foot fence had clearly not taken its toll on him, but he had leapt from the Colony building hundreds of times in the past, his mother caring only slightly, and his father not at all. No, his situation lied in the battle with the Leviathan. He couldn't get himself and Jade out of Hope Forest with a broken arm, but they had no means to repair it, not without their lost supplies. "Don't we have the best luck in the world …" he said quietly, spreading his legs out in front of him as he sat. It felt good to sit without crossing his legs, or without being on alert. Thomas just wanted to relax for a minute, it felt like he hadn't been able to for days. He didn't want to think of the problems ahead, for getting out of Hope Forest was near impossible in itself when you were healthy, but getting out of it with injuries and sore aching muscles and joints, hah!
What about food? He hadn't eaten since lunch hour, and Jade was most likely the same. How could one eat when they were anticipating this night? This night that was suppose to be good, suppose to be the first step into the rest of their rebel lives. Anxiety and excitement didn't allow much room for food in his stomach, but now it was empty, and it felt a little hollow. Now it was near sunrise and he and Jade were without supplies and without knowledge of which direction to head. He was guessing west then south, then maybe they'd make it to the main road, but Thomas was unsure at the moment. He was too overwhelmed. Too much had happened in just one night.

// muse muse! How wonderful it is to have found thee :)

  • // Glad you got your muse back!:D

//Making it into Hope Forest was a weight off of Jade's shoulders. Although her ankle started to feel worst and worst, at least they were away from the officers. It was a far cry from a romantic walk on the beach or riding off into the sunset, but for a rebel like Jade, it was perfect being with Thomas on this mission. A few days ago, Jade would have never thought she'd ever find a guy she was interested in, her priorities lay in the Colony and everything she did was to serve them. Meeting the boy, Jade definitely didn't think he'd be the one she'd fall for. Though when she did, the girl realized that thinking she couldn't find a guy because she wanted to serve her 'family' was wrong. She just found a guy to help her do it. Which, in her mind, was more perfect than perfect can describe.

When Thomas made a moss blanket of sorts, she said, "Thank you," with a smile and proceeded to plop down and cuff up her jeans some. Wincing as the slightest touch sent needles in her bone, she looked at her ankle and cringed. It had swollen considerably and turned an unattractive shade of purple. Not good. Knowing it was more than just a sprained ankle, she quickly tried to pull her jeans back over it in an attempt to keep Thomas from seeing it - a feeble attempt at that. The pain was unimaginable but she bit her tongue and decided her energy should go more towards seeing how Thomas's arm was. So, turning to the boy, Jade said, "How's your arm?", concern clear in her voice. It seemed like a dumb question as it was clearly broken but she had to ask anyway.

Although the Rebel wanted to just sit there and do nothing ever again, she was ready at the first command to get Thomas anything. She knew mostly what was edible and what wasn't so hopefully the green-eyed girl wouldn't let the two starve to death.

  • Thomas had seen Jade's ankle in the corner of his eyes, and he held back a wince. The two of them did not appear ready to trek through the Hope Forest in their condition, but that's where rebels like themselves found strength. Injuries just provoked their inner stubbornness, which all colony members possessed to some degree. No, Thomas had no doubt in his mind that he and Jade would get through this just fine.
The young girl didn't want to draw attention to her injury, and obviously wanted to keep her mind from wandering back to the thought of it, so she turned to him with a sincere worried question. "It's killing me, to be completely honest," Thomas murmured, unknowingly touching it gently with his right hand. A spike shot through him at that single touch, but he just shrugged at his partner, ignoring the pain. "But what am I to do … I only know general first aid …" The boy could clean a wound, and wrap it, even make temporary stitches, but fixing a broken arm was not near his range of medical knowledge. The two would have to go back to the colony soon, it wasn't healthy for either of their injuries to be used like this. Clearing his throat to try to drop the subject abruptly, Thomas felt around for some more moss, tearing it up when he came across a patch. Rising to two weary feet, the dark-haired boy trudged over to a tiny pool of water, its source a little stream not big enough to drown a rat. It ran in many different directions, but each part ended up in the pool. He dabbed the moss carefully in the water, then cupped his hand to take a a cool sip. Thomas didn't realize his thirst until the fresh water pour down his throat in a frenzy to wet every dry crevice, and was gone all too quickly. He licked his lips, and picked himself up again, his left hand limp at his side. It was kind of humbling to have only one useful arm, knowing that help was needed. "Here," Thomas said, handing Jade the wet moss to place on her swollen ankle. "We'll have to head out soon, while we still have a lot of daylight spread out before us." A heavy sigh escaped his lips as Thomas plopped himself back down. This had been long night, and the fact that it was now morning and it was still going on was not hopeful. He had forgotten what energy feels like, and what it was like to feel stable mentally and physically. Last night had allowed for a series of mixed emotion, some of them good some not so much. But Thomas wouldn't take anything back, because last night was now and forever more remembered as the night he feel head over heels for Jade. His arm might be broken, and his knees might be scabbing over and splitting open over and over, but Thomas would do nothing different. Everything that happened led to his and his partner's almost kiss and their acceptance of their love for each other. Over all, it had been a truly good night; the best he had ever had.

A few minutes swept by in a single blink, and Thomas' stomach started gurgling. It was emptied out completely. Food should have been one of the top priorities when he had first sat down, but out of exhaustion Thomas couldn't have brought himself to search for some. He didn't have anything in him then, and still didn't. "We … should find some food and get going …" He peered over at Jade, and his mind started to rebel against his heart. He couldn't have them both move out while Jade had a hurt ankle, at least his injury didn't hinder his walking. "Or … we can make camp here for a couple of hours." Thomas wasn't planning on staying the night, be if they were going to rest here being out in the open didn't seem to way to go. This forest wasn't safe ….

  • //PEACHY!<3 I'm back! I went to Ontario for the month to visit my sister and I didn't have cable or internet or anything there! But I'm back now and missed you bunches!! :) :D ;D :P :-*
Also, I tried to reply earlier but the whole thing got deleted so I'm just trying to work my muse back up ^-^

//A frown set on Jade's soft features when he replied. As reply to his statement about his medical knowledge she said a meager, "Same.." They both would definitely need to seek medical attention from one of their healers at the colony. Though Jade felt wrong for coming out here to get medical supplies, failing and then returning to the Colony, asking to use up some of the few things they have left.

Seeing Thomas get up and going to the little pond, Jade almost attempted to get up as well, as seeing the water made her realize how thirsty she was. He drank some water and then brought the water-soaked moss over to her. Taking it with a, "thanks", she squeezed most of the water into her mouth and then placed the cool, damp moss on her swollen ankle. At first she winced as even the slightest pressure sent fire through her bones but then let out a sigh as the coolness felt amazing.

//The young girl nodded at his suggestion to head out soon because she knew she had to although her muscles screamed at her to rest. He plopped down beside her with a sigh and she looked at him for a second and then turned to look off into the distance. Suddenly Thomas's stomach growled loudly. Listening to his suggestions, she looked into his silver eyes, the morning light making them look stormy. Searching his eyes, the black-haired girl realized she really didn't want to go, even though her ankle was begging her for help. Not knowing whether they should leave immediately or not, she asked him, "I don't know, what do you think?" and left it at that.

  • Thomas' hands plopped onto his stomach, his eyes casting over the trees to watch the rising sun. His mother would be awakening right about now, only to find his father had not slept again last night because sleeping was 'weakness'. He withered at the thought of her face when she would enter the main room to find him in the stream of young rebels. Her eyes would drop when she saw he wasn't there, but then she'd become hot with embarrassment and run out to shield herself from that kind of torture. She wouldn't care about his reason why he didn't show up, he could be dead for all that mattered, all Thomas' mother would be thinking was how this would ruin the family, all her grandkids and great grandkids would have to be born into condemned embarrassment.
As the story led on and on, and Thomas thought of the moment he would have to return he become sick -- which could have been his growing fever. "Maybe we never have to go back …" he said without a second thought, and he meant it. He didn't want to go back. He only loved one person back there, and that was the renowned elder's wife, but that was it. Out here he had Jade, and that felt complete. It was a stupid, naive suggestion, one that Thomas would regret bringing up if Jade dumped the idea -- but one he would grow more excited about if she agreed. But if he ever did return that would be regretted forever too.
Jade's decision would settle his regrets or not ….
Really, Thomas loved the Colony, and hated the city, but this idea just made sense in his feverish mind. His parents barely payed any attention, or gave him much of a thought, and he and Jade would forever be damned as 'the ones would failed first'. He wouldn't care much himself, off course he would at first, but when Thomas wanted to ignore something he did. He didn't want that for Jade. She was so special, so good at being a rebel, she didn't deserve ridicule. "Let's just forget them and …" Gasping for breath, Thomas clutched his arm, beads of sweat dripping down his forehead. "We - we" Throat suddenly going dry, Thomas' face turned white, his body temperature raised. "We stay in the woods - away from the city and the Colony … everything." He acted insane, bring up a random idea of staying out here, all the while his fever grew worse, and his arm reminded him that a bone had to be set back in place.
But those eyes. Thomas' silver depths revealed his firm belief that this is what should happen -- after help was bestowed upon them for their injuries. "We can get the healer when she goes out on her daily herb runs … ask her for help, then just leave …" Thomas wiped the sweat from his cheek. The more he went on the more his heart soared, and the more he felt like this was a stupid idea. It was a suggestion he loved, but it was ridiculous.

  • //MY MUSE IT-IT'S BACK! Hahahahaa, yay! I joined this epic looking clan that Rin made and I just suddenly.. found my muuuuse<3 I'm so so sorry for the super long wait D:

//Jade stared out into the sunrise as Thomas was, admiring its pink and orange hues of morning light. Getting lost in thoughts, the black-haired rebel heard Thomas suggest something that has probably been in the back of their minds the entire time. It was no secret that they liked each other, and could hopefully ultimately find happiness together in the end. So why couldn't they think of it? Of running away from the colony? They were at their lowest, battered and broken, emotionally and physically bruised. She looked over to him and stared into his eyes; those wonderfully silvery depths that she had seen ice cold so often but can now only see the warmth he holds for her. A smile actually spread on her delicate face at the thought of running away with him.. but could they do it? Could she do it? Run away from the only place she could call home? The place she had been training her whole life to serve and defend? How could she possibly know what to do..

At his idea of staying in the woods, away from the city and the colony, she took a look around. The morning dew covered everything in a way that made the trees look like they were made of diamonds, the grass and moss like a beautifully soft blanket. The pink and orange of the rising sun cast a dreamy glow on everything and the place looked like a haven - though Jade knew it was far from safe. But come to think of it.. the city folk would look at the rebels' lifestyle and think it's crazy, suicidal even. But vigorous training has made them all strong and keen, making that lifestyle perfectly suitable. So.. what would be so different from Hope Forest? Thomas and Jade would just have to undergo a different kind of training. Who knows how long it'd take, but that's the risk they would have to take to live the way they want.

Mention of the healer made Jade gasp. That was actually a brilliant idea! "Thomas! That's it! I don't know if you're fever has you crazy but we could find her and get her to help us. Then we wouldn't have to go back at all, just forget about them all... We could do it you know. We could learn how to survive in the woods. Make it our home.. Right? Would you want to.. like.. be with me? Like.. Uh..", trailing off, Jade had no idea how to put her thoughts into words in that subject. At the idea of them actually being together and living a lifestyle together with nobody else to interfere. Not knowing what else to say, she would just wait for Thomas to reply, hopefully he knows what she meant..

  • "Forever."
The word just fell from his mouth, easier than any other thing he had ever had to say. Words were not easy for Thomas, especially ones that admitted he wasn't the 'tough as nails' person he forced himself to appear as. He really struggled saying them, no matter how much he wanted them to be said. But at that simple one word his shivering, feverish body eased off. The very pit of his stomach was enlightened, and Thomas was sure, he was absolutely sure, that if he only had Jade in his company for the rest of his life that would be a good life indeed. "Let's do it," he murmured at first, shying away for a moment of his new found ease of words.
"Let's do it!" The boy grabbed Jade with his right arm, wrapping around her shoulder and pressing his left cheek against her neck. This was the first embrace he had taken without worrying what the other might think. Thomas was hugging the jade-eyed girl whether she willed it or not. He wouldn't be able to notice if Jade had hugged him back, one could only take in so many thoughts at once, and his were absorbed in all the feelings he got from one simple gesture of affection.

Thomas drew away reluctantly, his arm's constant stinging reminding him that this decision was not sealed until he, and Jade, could get help. His fever had broke some time during his dreamy state, thus the rebel boy was drenched with cold sweat. He felt as if he had just emerged from the water, sopping, not the delicate beads one gets from a workout. Thomas didn't want to say anything, because this moment was just too perfect to risk breaking with the wrong words. He just flicked his head in the direction of the Colony, knowing that they had to get a move on if they were going to catch the healer in the act.
Pressing his right hand firmly on the mossy flooring, he swung his legs from under him to stick a solid landing, unbent his legs and rose to full length. A quiet sigh left his lips as he closed his eyes for a few brief seconds. None of this seemed like it was actually happening. It didn't feel like his life had a future with a girl he loved and who loved him back, but he did. It was happening right in front of him whether he wanted to believe it or not. Jade fell for him, and he her.

Legs still a little weak, Thomas' steps were wobbly, sort of resembling a fawn taking its first. He spread his right arm out for balance, but kept moving forward at the same pace. They couldn't slow down for injuries, neither he nor Jade could wait for tomorrow to be checked over -- well, really him. The searing pain of his broken arm was relentless, as it would be. If he had only been a dislocation Thomas would have fixed it himself, but it was so obviously broken -- he could feel the shattered bones in his arm.

    {YAY YOUR MUUSSSSE
    I SO HAPPY}

    //yaaay like my new fancyyy??

//It took Jade a second to realize that what Thomas said wasn't a figment of her imagination. Once this was understood a laugh bubbled out of her and she accepted his hug by flinging her arms around him. Smile wide, pearly teeth showing and all, the green-eyed girl let go when Thomas did and couldn't imagine a happier moment in her life than the one she was experiencing now. At his nod to the direction of the Colony, she understood and nodded herself. With the magic of the moment, the black-haired girl didn't even really want to talk. Thomas just hugged her.. like, willingly. It was amazing. When Thomas stood up, Jade was so lost in happy thoughts that she went to stand up as well. Putting that slight amount of pressure on her ankle made her whelp in pain and she dropped back to the ground with her hand clasped over her mouth so she wouldn't scream or swear. The fire seemed to linger in her bones and it was everything she could do not to cry out.

Looking up to the silver-eyed boy, she noticed he started to walk away. "Uh.. Thomas? Could you just.." She didn't want to sound demanding so she just held her hand out as a sign for help up. The pain was excruciating and Jade didn't quite know how she would make it to where they needed to go, all she knew was that it had to be done. Ready to suck it up, she braced herself and waited for Thomas to help her gain her feet. 'Soon,' she thought, 'soon we'll be fixed up and can handle the life in the forest. Together. Together forever.'
