A sleek white cat bounded in front of the she-cat, appearing to chase a mouse but not quite. He stopped before he could slam into a tree. He looked disappointed and sniffed the tree. It did not smell like a rodent had passed here so what was he chasing really? Noticing the other, he stiffened. "Are you with them?" he hissed, white fur bristling.

The slender coated female slid her way through the brush, her triangular auditories flicking content as the morning songs of the birds snapped her to reality ; a rather boring, constant world.

"I'm just passing through..." the wildcat meowed calmly, though her head screamed for her to run.

The tom seemed to calm down a bit at that. "Just... passing through?" he echoed and sheathed his claws, padding to the she-cat. "Slender...pelt like night...eyes like stars..." he muttered to himself as he circled her. "What do they call you?" he asked as he sat in front of her, his blue eyes rounding. "They call me Angel."

Flicking his ear, he leaned towards her and licked her cheek once. "A pleasure to meet you, Midnight." He then froze and looked around a bit frantically. There was nothing but the wind. "Do you hear them?"

Midnight jerked her head back in surprise, no-one had ever done that before! Then she relaxed, she felt comfortable around Angel. She cocked her head to one side, "hear who?"

"Them. The ones who whisper in the wind!" Angel quickly explained, standing and swaying his tail. "Those whose voices aren't voices."

Nodding to her, Angel went behind her and began pushing her. "we must go somewhere safer, where the wind won't hear," he whispered. He was sure he would save her from the wind. Midnight had no idea where he was pushing her, but she let him if it made him happy. She made a silent vow to herself to either help Angel find his mind, or to stay with him forever; and when Midnight made a vow, she never broke it.

After awhile, the white tom had pushed the she-cat to a small rabbit's hole. The scent of rabbit was stale so it had to be abandoned by the previous resident. Angel went around Midnight and signaled her to follow. "It's fine, it's safe; they won't find us in here," he explained as he entered the burrow before her, turning back to see if she was following.
